    If a player has registered for World of Tanks they automatically has an account for World Of Warships but not in World Of Warplanes.

    So if an expeienced player keeps his low tier DDs,because he likes to play them, like I have and do, and grinds them to a 15 point captain with CE he should replace the captain or simply stop playing?
  3. As the title says: Is it time to remove capping mechanics from the game and replace them with points for dealing damage and kills only? My answer to that is yes for the following reasons: As for how the new mechanic should work see below. 1) The capping mechanics in the game is too abstract and/or complicated for quite a lot of player that either never bothered to read the game instructions or don't understand them, resulting in teams that can't cooperate effectively, because the indvidual players on the team have different understandings and concepts on how to win a battle. This leads to frustrating losses and a poor game experience not only for those who understand and play the game as the mechanics dictates but also for those who don't understand why they lose. 2) Some players only play to farm damage and deliberately stays out of cap zones, bases and objectives meaning that the team that has them on their side is less effective. 3) Capping mechanics is neither intutive nor natural for naval battles; dealing damage and sinking ships on the other hand is, which makes it hard for a lot of players to understand the reason in capping or defending objectives as holding a patch of water has no meaning in real life. 4) Introducing a damage and kill only based point gaining mechanic will be a both intuitive and easy to grasp concept that every single player would immediately understand and appreciate, as every time the player hit an enemy and inflicts enough damage there is an immediate team reward. 5) BBabies camping at the edge of their guns' range will have less of a negative impact on the battle outcome than now. 6) No need to balance ships for their ability to contest objectives but only the need to balance them for their abilities to deal and survive damage, which should make it easier to balance ships against each other. With regards to how the damage/kill based point earning mechanic should work I was thinking that it should just be an expansion of the current where each teams start with 300 points and the first to reach 1000 wins. As it is now points will be gained or lost when sinking an enemy ship or losing a friendly one. Tick rate would be as it is now in Domination Mode where no points are earned if no objectives are captured but should only be adjusted by the percentage of the total combined team's hitpoints of the enemy team that the player's team has dealt - I was thinking somthing like this which will be subject to rebalancing as it is only a first rough draft: 10-25% of total enemy team hitpoints: Tick rate set to 3 points every 5 seconds. >25-50% of total enemy team hitpoints: Tick rate set to 6 points every 5 seconds. >50% of total enemy team hitpoints: Tick rate set to 9 points every 5 seconds. Points gained or subtracted by individual classes of ship should then be balanced after their potential impact on the game with battleships and carriers having the highest point gain/loss with destroyers having the lowest in order to making it more viable to target capital ships. I decided against placing a poll about this subject as I am more interested in what the (forum) community has to say on this. Cheers

    Sorry would have multi quoted but function is not here on all of the comments? Why should they do that, they have just as much right to play as everyone else and just because they don't understand the mechanics for winning and the game meta don't mean that they should not be allowed to play, rather, the game should be tailored to fit the lowest common denominator so that all players can have fun.

    One thing we all have to realise and accept: camping will never go away and there are no way to motivate, no incetive, no way to force campers to be more aggressive. Therefore the way I see it, if replacing the capping meta with a damage meta at least aggressive and non camping players will be rewarded for the actions. My suggestion will not change the average battle time as so many of them right now lasts the full 20 minutes so time wise the players will not experience longer lasting battles. And with regards to the Ocean map, espeically on domination; that is still BBs and cruisers camping in the back while they do the merry go round...

    But right now there is: 0 team work and it is every man for himself, only rarely do you get a team that can work together or even understand a common language. The vast majority of players just shoots at what is in front of them which is why I believe that the capping meta should go.

    Exactly; having only one topic on the subject, or any other subject dealing with important issues that needs to be resolved ASAP, with loads of comments can easily be swept under the rug with the explanation: "But there is only one thread dealing with this so it is not an important issue that we need to do anything about", however with multiple threads dealing with the same issue they present a clear message that something is really being viewed as a serious issue throughout the community that needs to be addressed and fixed ASAP.

    For the same reason I play other low tier ships: I like to play them and to be honest, high tier gameplay doesn't provide an experience that can not be found to be just as good if not better on lower tiers.

  11. Your proposal will just scare away new players and make tier 3 & 4 unplayable. You seem to forget the 'fun and engaging' experience of playing those low tiers against anything 2 tiers higher whether it be DDs, CAs, BBs or CVs. Tier 5-6 are still competetive at 2+ tiered battles which tier 3 & 4 aren't.

    Agreed. What I would love to see is a 'WW1/age of steel battle mode' with era correct hulls, weapons ranges and ammunition types as the ammunition of the WW1 era guns suffered from low penetrations at longer ranges compared to the improved guns and ammunition of WW2 meaning that survivability should be improved on longer ranges for all types of ships, making this game mode a little more forgiving than the normal one. The game mode should not have the capturing of objectives included, instead the only way to win by points is to inflict kill and damage on the enemy where inflicting a certain threshold of hitpoints of damage of the total hitpoints of the enemy team initiate the points to tick every few seconds as they do in standard and domination mode. Points would then be added or subtracted by the killing or loss of a ship on the enemy or own team as per the other game modes. Winning by annihilation of the enemy team obviously included.

    As would HMS Indefatigable, HMS Queen Mary, HMS Invincible, HMS Defence, HMS Black Prince and SMS Pommern and all of those magazine detonations happened in the same battle... At the time of this post I have played 4352 battles and have suffered 37 detonations or put in another way: in 0,87% of my battles I gets detonated - hardly a common event by a long shot and hardly anything that seriously will affect my stats. Annoying yes but equally fair to everybody and definately not a problem.

    That would be a completely different game than WoWS requring vastly different game mechanics and while I would without doubt skip WoWS for such a game, there is no way Wargaming would make it alas.
