If the wipe from weekend to closed beta is an example then yes there was something, however I am sure there will be a proper answer to this closer to the relevant time.

Do you mean the yellow icon and alarm sound? If so it is too far away from land to be triggering this, an example I can give is happily cruising along more than a couple of hundred metres offshore passing from one island to another that have a small channel between and finding the bow being pushed either to port or starboard needing rudder corrections to deal with it and not in auto pilot mode.

i have run aground 2 or 3 times by hitting an island quite fast and sideways and no amount of wiggling will get you back off. If I realise I cant turn then I now hit the island at a much sharper angle which makes getting back off that much easier. Has anybody else noticed ships closer to land veering off course? Is there a tidal mechanic?

Although to be fair adding a 'box the compass' skill isnt going to make the game that much more fun.

There is no need to be prepared to allow this to happen though. A tough policy from the start sends a message. In related news the support here seems so much better than WoT with both response times and the response following reporting toxic behaviour.

Maybe (I know being an optimist often leads to being proven wrong!) they would go back to WoT and be whiney there about how strict it is here giving future potential players from WoT a heads up that the behaviour that can be found in that game isnt tolerated here. I am all for 'let and let live' but childish or offensive insults to complete strangers doesnt get covered by that.

Maybe a big stick from the outset with zero tolerance to that sort of behaviour is what is needed? I have been fortunate not to have seen much if any abuse in about 80 games so far and generally people are being respectful and polite but I am enjoying what feels like a breath of fresh air from what has become a very toxic environment in WoT and if there is a way to maintain that then it would have my full support.

Closed beta was opened for applications last Thursday 12.03 and I think I read that it was fully subscribed within 1 hour.

Yes, I think it was in the 10 things not to do with carriers post where I read that keeping a carriers deck on fire suspends air operations (launching, not sure what the deal is about recovery though, maybe they crash into the sea when out of fuel?), which in turn keeps the BB's from crying!

Does this mean that HE is the load of choice for attacking DD/CV's and more distant targets with, saving the AP for cruiser citadels and BB in general? Or I have not got a proper grasp of the ammunition yet?

Is there a guide somewhere? I have looked around but havent been able to find anything. I have learnt to use auto pilot to steer the ship to free me to focus on directing the aircraft but some assistance in getting that right would help as I have only played one battle (got one torpedo to hit) but dont want to play more and be useless to the team until I understand the mechanisms better. Thank you

I have the same problem. I am on a gtx970 so I dont think that my gpu is the issue here
