Thats interesting. I wonder how long it would take to have launched scouts as quickly as possible if needed ?

we need hms hood/ pride of the royal navy

To have all the classes at the start is more important than all nations. Thats maybe 40 odd ships per nation, which is a lot. Then they need to be sure to watch what happens and fix them before simply adding more and more nations. Fix first with minimum numbers for better balancing I suggest. -

Its true, but the opponents are what counts I think. They need to choose Germany or Japan. Japan wins that. So iconic battles ? America. So IJN versis USN is the obvious route. Plus they want to crack American market. -

I wonder if the early Hood and the WWII Hood are so different they might need to be different ships ? Indeed many ships are so upgunned, armoured etc that they were WWI then became WWII quality. More of an upgrade than we see in tanks I think. -
Thats good !

If any of those men had a slightly different event and died, the world could be different How many good presidents died that never fulfilled their potential?

They could not possibly not have the Hood - it would be like not having the Firefly in WOT ! -

Drone carriers will be very scary but also could be cheap - buy a container ship, use each layer of containers as a single massive strike.Scary. -
Have to compare this list to published list when OBT begins and see what else we can ask to have put in

Top 10 WWII Battleships and Battlecruisers
Querulous replied to bogdanandrei1998's topic in Age of Armour Warships
Quite a lot of this demonstrates that the accuracy of the guns depends on equipment that is relatively easy to destroy. Which would be interesting but possibly annoying to play - first few hits and its toast. As to top tens - without a more specific value to assess, the newest and biggest is surely going to win every time. Otherwise its HMS Dreadnaught for innovation all the way. HMS Warrior before that..... -
Nice information Its the classic battle that I guess most players will be hoping to brilliantly emulate themselves....... a bit like 12 tank kill games in WOT, it will happen seldom.

Thanks! Some of those ships look good.....though French tree may be slow to come.

For randoms, its probably impossible to do more than cap the ratio of some classes to the main force For team battles, likey to see odd one sided fleets - all CV for example For random maps - much depends on balance. Could a 15 CV force defeat a 15 DD force rushing them? 15 fast BC ? I would guess the best force is - maximum CV they allow, say 3, then max BB, say 3 and then 9 of the toughest of whatever is left. I am guessing that for even team battles, some classes will be limited.

Thats an interesting article. It would be interesting to think about what would have happened without code breaking - would the Japanese have dealt the Americans many defeats, before industrial power crushed them?- 3 replies

French Battleship Richelieu Home (1940-1949)

It will be interesting to see if people play more ships like this based on looks, and if this skews their popularity and tiering eventually -
Very nice

Very nice - more please

Good information. Still this implies that a higher tier Russian tree would be made of ships that did not fight in WWII. It makes it a bit like the upper tiers of Japan in tanks - not a good place to be.

What if the War began in 1944? Royal Navy Battleships
Querulous replied to mr3awsome's topic in Age of Armour Warships
I believe Heavy water etc was a stepping stone, with many further steps to take. In terms of projects, one could argue that the V weapons were comparable to Manhattan in resources. More serious however was the insanity of the leadership, who rejected "Jewish" science and its implications.Additionally the Germans had quite enough of the BC part of the NBC equation to ellminate the UK and other areas - quite advanced in fact. So any nuclear attack on a healthy Germany would have been catastrophic probably for the world. -
Any battle where both sides make big mistakes is always fun - especially if one side is American.
