  1. lots of talk about over extending and such but the truth to that statement is situational factors like later stages of battle enemy close to capping so have to engage, but yes early on in battle to disengage by retreat or using islands is best option, but we are not always afforded that luxury. Retreating relocating is impossible if you are heavily outnumbered HE then just removes any skill of angling as fire does not care where the ship is pointing. I never said I wanted fires to stop just I would prefer less damage and reduced abilities instead

    Thats exactly my point HE would be better served to reduce a ships fighting ability player that caused the fire could get experience for damage that ship takes while under the effects of fire

    So, as a BB driver subjected to he spam, never repair when you have only a single fire on you. When you have two, disengage and when you have put some distance between you and the enemy cruisers, repair while changing direction often. 

     

    Keep an eye on you health too.

     

    No need to nerf fire damage, really. 

    Except now its not just cruisers but BB's spamming HE, I get using HE when bow on but some continually fire and if equal or higher tier their is no running, 30% chance of fire from BB shells is a pain in the backside tbh.

  5. why jump straight in with the insults? what are you scared of that you have to start out by insults?

     

    For your information I play all ship types, my 1st tier X was a DD and 2nd was a CA so no I do not exclusively play BB's I never play CV's so if your going to neg rep my ability then do it with CV's As for putting out fires I only do that if my health is so low I might not survive another salvo, or the ship that was putting me on fire is either dead or otherwise engaged. 


  6. Playing BB's in this game means being put on fire a lot! being reduced from full health to nothing in no time, yet I have searched records and can find no instance of a warship being destroyed by fire except ships made from wood!

    Now I know there are arguments for game play yet torpedoes sunk many ships yet by comparison they are a lot harder to hit with and the reload times means ships can repair the flooding.

     

    What are the thoughts of the community on this? I think myself that fire damage should not do the damage it does, maybe lower the fighting ability of the ship like 1 fire 10% reduction to aiming spotting speed and concealment 2 fires 20% reduction and so on, while the HE element is so OP (in my opinion) the AP is so random I can see why so many BB players now only shoot HE many a battle I can have 50 hits with AP on broadside ships only to get 4 pens 23 ove pens and 23 non pens. with a 30% chance of causing fire in no time you can rack up 30k damage, fast firing cruisers often do twice the damage of BBs because of this.

     

    So whats your thoughts? this thread is in no way intended to give the impression I want all HE nerfed because I do want all ship types to have a place, but maybe ships that struggle to pen could actually get real rewards for spotting damage, so far team play without much damage nets you nothing which encourages selfish play.

    Is the high priority issue a silent nerf on the Shiratsuyu taking away the torp reload perk? If so why be so cloak and dagger about it? If not then when did WG do that nerf I am sure it had the perk 2 days ago?

     

     

    Errrm maybe I should go to bed another look and see the perk is still there sorry!!

     


  8. What hurts with the RNG is when you get it good, compared to when you get it bad. For instance. get 50 hits no fire, next game 1st salvo gets fire GREAT!!! then a CV drops torp pattern on target and kill it, you get 250 fire damage. 

     

    RNG is a necessary evil, but it does have to be programmed so follows a pattern which means it is not totally RNG, unlike rolling a dice. Flawless RNG is not and getting the balance right is something I have yet to see. As you said 50 hits and no fire then 4 hits and 3 fires are 2 complete ends of the ball park. With most RNG models it is possible to roll a 1 a hundred times in succession as well as rolling 6 100x too. 

     

    I expect it is possible to have RNG between 1-100 with a limiter put at the extreme ends, so you cannot hit below 10 4x in a row or above 90 4x in a row. Not intending to say this is how it should be done, because fine tuning RNG has to be a real big nightmare.


  9. Ill just drop on the subject of "printing money". Atlanta is not a moneymaker. In fact there are only 2 ships that are real moneymakers. If you want to make silvers, buy a Tirpitz or Atago. 

     

    Dont get me wrong. I own a few premiums, bought mostly for the fun of using them. I have Atlanta, that i occasionally take out for a spin when i feel like firing fast (and honestly, after putting 200 hits in a target for 20k damage im done for few weeks - this ship IS crap). I have Murmansk, which is a blast to play. I have Nikolai, and i watch/try Blyskawica and Warspite on my bro's account. They are all earning nice silvers, but its nowhere close to the 2 mentioned.

     

    It is something that started with WoT. I had a lot of premium tanks there too - some were super fun. But only tier 8 premiums (there were no t9 premiums when i played, maybe it changed, i wouldnt know), were making real cash. The difference was enormous between t8 and anything else.  Its same here. Sure i had 500k battles in murmansk, They happen (so did a 470k battle in a Pensacola). But on Atago my average is 650k on a win, and 400 on a loss. 

     

    I play Atago now on rankeds (and i really recommend it . Cruisers might not be the best class to "carry" a ranked battle, but Atago is hands down best cruiser, so you wont "drag your team down", but the opposite. It also has instant queues). I got a 1.150.000 earning battle in RANKED - with 7 targets to shoot at.

     

    So yes if you want a money printer get an Atago from shop - its actually not an exciting ship. Its good, id say very good, but it doesnt excel at anything (maybe you can say it excels at camo). But it works, and it makes you filthy rich. Or wait for a bundle for Tirpitz or Kutuzow (i havent tried it , but i expect as t8 its also a money printer).  

     

    What Im also getting at - WG buffed Atago. I expect they will get to buffing Atlanta (soon tm). There are plenty ways of buffing it without making any "unhistorical" alterations. Improve its camo drastically (so its around the level of russian DDs), improve the shell arc. Improve the fire chance. Improve the torpedoes. They will get this ship usable i think. BUT, even when it will get strong and fun to play, it will NOT be a money printer - simply because its t7. 

     

    Kutuzov makes me more credits than my tirpitz, but harder to play, it has fantastic range and RoF but does very little damage, now and again you will citadel a cruiser but generally spam HE and let them burn, thats the best way to accumulate damage. 

     

    As for the Atlanta I would like to purchase it, but 11km range is less than most DD's you will come up against, so I cannot actuaaly see where it fits in other than baby sitting BBs that have no AA, or simply staying with CV for DD protection and AA cover. Not something I am willing to spend real money tbh.


  10. it just seems to me that WG want to out torpedo boats full stop, even with all captain skills to aid torp speed and improved stealth, a BB simply has time to stop and completely miss all torps fired in a spread by a IJN DD. that is completely ridiculous. then add to that the guns do absolutley sod all to enemy DD's in comparison and the IJN DD line simply ceases to exist. Well done WG not!


  11. It has to be like that. Spot other DDs for your team, engage them. once they are dead you can go for BBs and farm damage.

     

     

    if your in an IJN DD and you spot USA DD, unless its on low health or you can torp it, just spot otherwise its superior firepower will rip you in seconds

    dunno how you are launching yer torps but from this distances I rarely miss(ed) with my mutsuki [past tense because I sold her to get kagerou because takao mission and all in vein as they have changed it to t8 xD [mission that is]

     

    from Kagero I launched at 8km 100% side on to a Montana, he did not know I was anywhere near, both sets of torps launched each 1 sert half in front the other half behind marker to cover a wide area, he saw them and simply stopped missing all. If a ship has all detection upgrades and commander too even the least detected torps get spotted early enough. Another time its a 1 salvo kill.

  13. The long range torps are going to be nerfed on the higher tiered IJN destroyers, apparently to stop "spam and hope" which for the most part is what all DD's do with torps. What are WG going to do to compensate the ijn DD's as they are outranged out gunned, out maneuvered and the slowest turrets in the game?  

     

    Is it the intention of WG to simply make players abandon the ijn DD's altogether as the only DD that can use guns efficiently, will be the new tier 8, and half the cruisers can catch up with an ijn DD so if torps are nerfed whats the point of having one?

     

    I am half way through the Kagero and at the moment, wondering if it is even worth finishing?

    I have 8gb of ram, memory is not the problem, thanks for the help.

    The problem is WOWS. I play Dark Souls 3 and Fallout 4 perfectly.

     

    I updated the drivers to see if the problem goes away.

     

    it might help if you install, I know a ram cleaner WoT used to have a lot of memory leakage which caused problems, mine crashed because of it and I have 16gb ram. The size of ram is not the issue here. True iobit game booster or similar and close tasks in the background like chrome, install ram cleaner and it should get rid of this problem

    Do the issues you know about include:

    game  apparently running smooth, ping 30ms, fps 80fps video smooth as a babies bottom, but and a big but, response time from input is between 20-30 seconds? Literally everything seems fine, but trying to turn my ship, I kept thinking my KB was broken, so I loaded another game, even test typed using all keys. Everything is fine, yet my ship does not respond to my actions unless I keep key depressed for around 30 seconds. Also when firing I see my shells hit but nothing registers, like I did not even fire.

     

    It seems to me there is a fault with how the game responds and what shows on my screen from the game client, is not happening on server side. Some correlation work between client and server seems to be the issue.

    You expect a lot of people to “buy” tier VIII just so they can get tier VIII premium ship for free? Can’t they just… buy Atago if that’s the case?

    Tier IX was dumb requirement. There is no reason to put requirement higher than reward. If you play tier VIII you have experience in tier VIII, simple as that. Not to mention tier IX is the ones that a lot of people simply don’t like and economy is just one of the problems for that tier. WG wanted to force people to play tier IX and X as most likely they got orders from ruskies to make biggest server gather more data on the new economy and high tier balance. So excuse me that I am not fond of being screwed over, especially when I compare our missions with the ones from the other servers.

    Thank you WG for reconsidering that requirement. I honestly think that Nachi mission is still all kinds of retarded, but let’s be honest that Takao is most prominent and most important ship in this event.

     

    If you look at the USA server and what they had to do to complete the mission, and the EU still had it easy prior to this dumb change.

     

    You name me a mmo where you do not have to grind to play end game content?  Your argument is flawed, WG have not forced anyone to do anything, for those that do not want to achieve anything other than playing for half an hour here and there. They can quite easly get the tier 5-7 FREE premium ships.

     

    All people need to learn to walk before they run. How do you think these players will cope when they travel in a straight line on zoom mode, only to be hit by a Yamato. I know, they will be straight on the forum whining that the Yamoto is too OP they cannot kill it. 

     

    When people look a gift horse in the mouth to count it's teeth, I wished the horse closed it's mouth, lifted it's tail and gave then what they need, instead of what they want (for nothing).

  17. Buy a tier 8 premium, be on the winning team 50 times, and get a tier 8 premium free!!

     

    WG wtf are you thinking? this will simply lead to people who, refuse to invest time and effort into learning how to play a team game, into tier X battles without a clue what to do.

     

    So for the sake of whining childish behavior, you have slapped in the face players that have ground their way to the top level, tier X monsters. Who now can have the battle of their life and end up with a huge repair bill and a loss, simply because you gave away a tier 8 premium, to players with no interest in developing the game or player base.

     

    I currently only have tier 7 ships from the tech tree, I also have tier 8 premium but was looking forward to the challenge and hoping to get to a better playing standard. that opportunity has now gone. I thank you not.

    I understand your reactions (I'm not just saying that...like, I actually get your logic and the feelings behind them). 

     

    Right now, though, all I can do is forward your feedback on to those in charge of such decisions. Also I can say that there is a chance that the Event calendar will be reinstated in a (hopefully) better form in the future. 

     

    For the meantime though, we'll be posting it in the forums so at least you guys can be aware of what type of stuff is going down this month.

     

     

     

    When you post it in the forums, can you send us a link to it please? just like the links you send tell us about new premium ships we can purchase. That way we know when it will arrive as currently the calendars can arrive any day of any month it seems!

     

    You must have the hardest job in gaming, replying to players about dumb decisions made with no thought, by other WG staff!


  19. Low views of the calendar page. was that due to it being hard to find? or they came out part way through month. the format above is easy to understand. it should still be on the main news page at beginning of month or earlier. 

     

     

     

    I agree at this rate they will post Novembers diary in January, just to show us how inefficient the marketing can be.

    "Low page view" means people lost interest in "great news" on the www. So you drop even more info and want to make a change in this?

    Information is WG weak spot.

     

    I know my vioce doesn't count but please think about it. Think about people that want to know what happen in this game.

    And I believe you (WG) are aware that most people do not know what forum is and they just visit your www. This won't increase your playerbase.

     

    Ehhh... I think something big and bad is going on in the background.

     

    By not advertising an event, it lends an insight that either the player base is not interested in events (which is not true) or that WG are either going to drop them, or the numbers playing are so low it's not worth their time to post it on warships website.

     

    With any of the scenario's mentioned above, it is clearly a lack of insight and likely to lead to numbers dropping further.


  21. seems like WarGaming know there is lots of lagging issues from their EU server, so they are keeping the IP address secret so the average person cannot check connection to it.

     

    Otherwise they would put it on the WG website server links like they do for WoT`s
