Crooq_Lionfang replied to fullmetalpanic's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen

I'd -1 him for not actually reading the thread, especially the part where Ev1n's announcement was quoted, but he's at 0 now anyway and don't feel the need to get him into the negative

6% draws in just over 200 battles. If it wasn't for today the percentage would be lower, but twice I banged my head on the table watching the team after my own untimely demize fail just as bad as I did when I went to the bottom of the ocean

Wanted to buy some premium time....

It's not about being dumb or anything, but if you prefer to fight against AI, then you are not WGs target audience. PS: WoT doesn't have PvE either, if you don't count people running bot scripts. Are you planning on calling that game a commercial failure as well? -
Matchmaking balance, weird team compositions and a carrier with 10 kills
Crooq_Lionfang replied to Aerroon's topic in General Discussion
Too many people don't think that far. I honestly don't know how active you are/were in WoT (if at all), but there have been so many matches with people capping early, espially in encounter mode, where there people from the winning team got less XP on their daily doubles than for an average loss. Totally not fun nor rewarding for anyone in the match. One of the first things I noticed when I got into WoWS CBT in March was that the XP you get in the end seems to depends a lot more on your own contribution and much less on the team as a whole than in WoT. I did well - I got 1500 xp, even on a loss. I totally screwed up, I got 300 XP or so on a win, and didn't deserve a single point more than that. This hasn't sunk in in many people's heads yet, the numbers are irrelevant, all that counts is that a win is a win is a win. They enter the match, see the lineup and go "ooooh we got this" - they will still play, but they will be careless and don't do the work required to make this win come "easy" as expected.- 170 replies

nm, you edited the ™ in before I could correct you edit: apparently you didn't - it shows up if I quote your text, but doesn't when looking at your post. Strange

Matchmaking balance, weird team compositions and a carrier with 10 kills
Crooq_Lionfang replied to Aerroon's topic in General Discussion
The dl;dr sums it up, but there are factors that the MM just can't anticipate. This isn't even about skill, it's more about mentality. I wonder, how many in your team saw the lineup and were like "don't even need to work for it" - and how many in the enemy team went in there with just the plan of selling their hide as expensive as possible. The same team composition, with players of the same skill might just as well lead to the mentality of hitting escape and clicking "return to port".- 170 replies

I do wonder though... Mikasa is supposed to appear in the shop, but the rest... did it occur to anyone that we might be looking at mission or event rewards here? I mean, WG anniversary is next month, and at least in WoT they dish out a low tier premium tank for that, just like they do for christmas. Plus, with gifts, nobody (should) complain about clones

The point of South Carolina is to wreck St Louises with AP in the citadel. Another point of it is that it leads to the Wyoming.

Aoba...A Giant, Slow, Flammable, Fragile [edited]?

We got a similar saying over here, translated it's about "when the farmer can't swim, it's the swimsuit's fault" -
Wanted to buy some premium time....
Crooq_Lionfang replied to tacomaco's topic in General Discussion
The point of WGs games is PvP, not PvE. It surprised me in the beginning that PvE is rewarded at all, but given the leveling process it kind of makes sense. PvE is a place where you can test out your new ships before taking them into random battles, nothing more, nothing less. -
........... I think I just want my money back
Crooq_Lionfang replied to MassiveDYT's topic in General Discussion
I start the day usually with my tier 3's and 4's, and don't get to tier 6+ any time before late afternoon, when the server starts filling. That way you have a higher chance at "normal" matchmaking -
........... I think I just want my money back
Crooq_Lionfang replied to MassiveDYT's topic in General Discussion
Same. Well.... ok, I'm playing much, but I'm somewhat grinding 6 lines at once and send captains in premium ships for the daily 1.5. And now that I reached tier 5 with Minekaze and tier 6 with Aoba I'm pausing a bit and farm some cash for modules. I'm not in a hurry to get further up, but I want to get there eventually, step by step. -
Depends on the time you are looking at. In general you are right, certainly for the time after war broke out. Iirc, before that, the plan was to create a fleet large enough to threaten the RN and force it to stay in the home waters, and be forced to leave the convoys more or less unprotected - that then would be attacked by the faster commerce raiders

Just checked all flags in game, Mike Yankee Soxisix (bottom row, second from left) is the only thing that has anything to do with gun performance, and it's only for the secondary guns. You should drink more coffee, helps the brainz to perform it's duties
-
You probably mean 5% to secondary (!) gun range and loading time probably

A good CA player will still smoke an average BB player, and an average CA player will feast on a bad BB player (or an average player that just has a bad game, we all know those days every now and then). Given equal skill and average RNGsus on both sides the BB should come out on top, if no serious mistakes are made. But overall people often forget one thing: you roughly pay the same price and need the same XP for all classes among a tier, so each ship should have ways of killing the others of equal worth, if they can play to their strenghts. Edit: last paragraph deleted, found the info the person was referring to.

This ship is what the +50% XP flags were made for, with them you might survive the grin without quitting. Got my Aoba yesterday evening, sighing in relief

Yeah, AP against a cruiser is fun. Managed to get one good salvo from my Warspite into the citadel of a full health Omaha. He was.... just gone
