Why do I get the feeling DD's are going to be the biggest loosers to this, trying to kill a dd at range, get a magical accuracy/reload/sigma boost ... dead DD.

That said given WeeGee now nerfing freemium ships, wouldn't put it past them to nerf the premium ones also (...what? since when has WeeGee cared about "public relations" forums will be set on fire for a week or two and go back to normal, just like before), so who knows maybe they will sell them again and then nerf them to oblivion when enough have sold.

have to admit, ive just started doing this, i was always pushing for team wins, but im struggling to get out of bronze, instead I am just playing for myself, if we win, then thats a bonus really right now, but saving my star and just leaving the team to do its thing while I do my thing and hope to wreck the enemy on my own. now i just need a ship i can carry in. using Akizuki and Kitakaze lol. Shitty mentality i know, but if it works, then it works. -

In CV matches, spotting is less important, as the CV will do the spotting. That is not what I said, If the CV is picking on you in particular you will want to be near friendly AA where possible, but it also brings us back to Be infuriating and frustrating. While a CV is focusing you, if you can really make it annoying for the CV, he's wasting time, hes not earning as much XP as he would by dunking on BB's, its quite rare for a CV to perma spot for long periods, your own AA will eventually clear them, and the CV will want to earn damage and credits. Outside of Clan battles and ranked, you generally only have to worry about CV's fir the first few minutes and the last minutes of a match, if they cant kill you quickly, or see to it you are killed quickly, they will go pick on something juicier. It really does depend on how potato the CV is and how determined he is to kill you. if he is perma spotting you, be somewhere that you can control who has a line of fire on you, doesnt always work mind, abuse islands etc so if a cv is camped over you, let your aa clear them while preventing enemy shooting is good idea, prioritise your survival over getting caps and kills, end stages of a game DD's are extremley powerful, CV or no CV, play more cautiously and dont over extend, keeping within reasonable range of friendlies. CV and DD is a bit like cat and mouse, be the mouse, like Tom and Jerry, hide, abuse cover, abuse friendly AA, abuse your agility. Stay Alive > everything else

There is very little you can do, and it is the source of a great deal of contention with the relationship of DD-CV, popping smoke is all you can do, and if you cannot do that, then all you can do is hope your AA guns clear them away, if team mates are nearby you can run into their AA envelope, if that isnt possible, then, youre stuffed. Like I said, if a CV wants you dead, he can do it, theres very little you can do about it.

More experienced players will chime in, but so far for me, it is making myself an unattractive target to start with. Carriers will always win 1-1 with a DD (unless you are in torpedo range of the said carrier of course) so I try to make it as frustrating as possible for the Carrier so that he will just go and annoy someone else. Rocket planes, Turn your AA off and if you are certain they are coming for you, turn into them, its very hard to aim at a DD head on, it also narrows your profile, meaning less rockets will hit. If he drops a fighter patrol, hit your AA to clear it (if at all possible) then kill the AA afterwards, most DD's have about 2.5-3km air detection range, very hard to rocket a DD thats nose into you, as the aiming reticle takes a few moments to narrow. Bombers, well just dance, alter your speed, zigzag and pray to RNGesus. Torpedo bombers are fairly easy to dodge though, well German ones are a little bit tricky at times if the CV player knows what he is doing, but same principle as bomber, when it comes for the attack i tend to slow right down and turn into them. At end of the day, all this does for me, is damage limitation, if a carrier wants to kill you, he will, theres not a great deal you can do if he focuses you down if you have no support around. Hiding within range of friendly AA helps but AA has been neutered to oblivion so dont rely on it. make it annoying for the CV and he will leave you alone until he cannot ignore you anymore, Make his game infuriating and frustrating to kill you.

It's frigging awful. I am an average 50% joe, nothing special but generally know what to do and play. My god the teams are infuriating, i have lost every match, and eachtime I was either top or second player in the team, add that the CV's are also there makes life miserable, just about to call it quits. Playing in either Cossack or Mass. There comes a point where I no longer want to waste my time, I'm pretty much there, anymore and il loose my mind and end up banned. WeeGee, can I have a ship captain from the Qowat Milat? seems appropriate right now. -
Are you hitting the ping markers on bow/stern? when in ping mode and in range you will see white circles and front and back, you need to hit one of those to start the homing, hitting both markers allows for citadels. also they have a limited duration so at range, you have to ping repeatedly until they hit

There are different conceal values depending on depth, but also you're ability to spot other targets. From my experience a submerged sub can out spot a surfaced sub so long as its within spotting range. Cant remember the precise numbers but from what I've seen your submerged level spotting range is no further than your ping range.

You will get used to it, its something you will pick up eventually, on average it takes 2.1 to 2.2 seconds to travel a Kilometre on the fast narrow ping depending on which sub, that said part of the balans i suspect is the difficulty in hitting a rapidly manoeuvring target

I think it's hilarious. CV complaining about not being able to retaliate. Such sweet irony. On a more serious note I expect at some point ASW capabilities will be added to CV's, simply because the CV whales will kick up a fuss and all, but on the other side, it gives CV's incentives to protect their DD's and CL's making them rely more on eachother.

Main issue im having is the Sub vs Sub interaction. due to spotting ranges underwater being in the 2km region, its frustrating for both subs to try and get a tube lined up and actually hit eachother. most duels have so far been both circling trying to point at eachother (Because subs have insane turning circles, 750m for the ussr for example) and end up ramming because its an exercise in frustration. Yeah. that needs to change, subs need to be able to engage eachother in a meaningful way not just hope your torps somehow manage to hit a target sat 1km away

Typically WeeGee doesn't delete stuff like this, normally what happens is you get a perma camo for the replacement. In WoT and WoWs in the past; You own Moskva and buy Perma Camo. WG decide to make Moskva Premium and replace it with a new silver ship WG give you Perma Camo for new silver ship Nevsky. Now what is currently up for debate is wether you will get a free nevsky with your mods and captain transferred to it from moskva and keep the Premium version Moskva also. Normally this is what happens in WG games but apparently thats not set in stone currently

Just give planes a max range from carrier, will stop them from hugging map borders, if a carrier can only strike say 20km at tier x from their carrier, would force the carrier to actually consider things like positioning, and bring the possibility of retaliation into the realm of reality, heck most of them are armoured, make them use that armour. Carriers wen't supposed to be hiding 20km behind everyone else on their own after all. -

Got to rank 9 so far. just grinding steel. however i stopped friday at 5pm and wont bother trying until monday. From what my clanmates have been saying, the Weekend Warriors have been causing mayhem with progress. Been using Smoke Minotaur and Conqueror with pretty decent results. well for a recovering potato anyway -

given the prevalence of CV's in ranked now, most teams don't use a DD as the CV spots. Shima has been pwercrept, so has the gearing. Grozovoi meh Z52 could do worse Yueyang got a nerf not too long ago, best go look up the details. My choice? Solid light cruiser with brutal AA. Smolensk has been quite popular much to peoples chargrin. Radar is less of an issue given how few DD's are in ranked atm. so play what you want. -

Id also add maximum range, everyones got a max range on their weaponry, why do planes have unlimited flytime and range. Planes IRL would have a max range from carrier and flight time. might stop them hugging the map boarder and make reprisal retaliation attacks actually something within the realm of possibility.
