  1. How convenient of you to forget about Italian Sap. Yes the game has changed ;) Personally I just dislike the 12km radar since it is further than my torps on the jutland and I can barely shoot it too. It is a problem I can't fix other than by positioning and staying more with allies. Something that is deemed unacceptable if they fight CVs, but somehow is okay for DDs. The biggest point people tend to forget is that really most players do not know all the details about range, duration. I know the usual 12km suspects and think of the time as 3 volleys, but I don't blame others for not knowing that stuff too exactly. There is a lot of ships, a lot of things to remember and the radar cruisers from my perspective often feel like they don't pay too much for the radar. I don't have many cruisers but if I take the jump from helena to cleveland for example. Then they even get heals at T10.
  2. I was wondering cause I looked some superstructures and they are filled to the brim with AA guns but usually I don't get that many per swipe down maybe 1-2 on a 6 bomb hit on e.g. a kremlin so I was wondering what I can do to improve AA clearing
  3. I mean it is kinda funny. As cv player you get insulted more often - I wouldn't even have enough reports to handle all of that - you get reported on top and if you even say normal stuff chatbanned

    Smolensk AA op

Yeah then maybe you should have read the OPs complaint before wildly typing. His complaint was that he can only strike once.

    Smolensk AA op

8000 HE dmg is effectively 4k dmg. Sure 25% HP per drop ;) Every single ship can be attacked by CV with pre-dropping so I guess no AA is good until it vaporized any squadsize immediately. Then we come into the realm of acceptable AA right? ;) The AP bombs of the haku are great against it, but only the haku has it. I clearly spoke about non-haku cvs. What is hard about hitting the broadside of any cruiser? They basically all turn broadside and rockets don't have a perfect drop either - as if you can control if the rocket goes 1cm up or lower. If the smolensk lets you drive perfectly over him he is a potatoe and even then it still only makes sense to attack with tinies, because the loss to dmg ratio for the rest is too high.

    Smolensk AA op

Literally the first post declares it as "not good". The same stuff also spreads over other cv related topics. To be precise the AA and mobility is good enough for any non-haku CV to consider other targets. You can guarantee 2 of 6 torps from a drop with the midway which for torpedos is about 7k dmg. Due to the heal you can get another one but it is tight so the next drop is a bit iffy. HE bombers can go horribly low even on a stationary smolensk. A 6 hit drop would be nice but is an absolute rarity and certainly not if the smolensk is just holding A or D. So here you are looking at about 8k dmg again. Tiny Tims the smolensk will mostly turn broadside to have rockets hit the part you can't penetrate which means 2-3k dmg, but if you get a straight flybyit can go up nicely to 12k ish - however you are not getting two strikes with those either without terrain. That is not including that a smolensk will only ever be alone at the end. With Haku sure no sweat if you get the triple cit you basically deleted it the risk:reward is okay, but for e.g. midway you rather opt out which you would not have to if it was indeed a ship with weak AA

    Smolensk AA op

That is not what OP was asking. He was asking for multistrikes and a little food for thought other than reducing a full squad to a single attack - what ship can consistently achieve more than that and forbid the strike on its own again? Yeah - so certainly smolensk AA is not strong. I don't think it is unstrikeable, OP or anything, but claiming smolensk AA is weak is not correct. Conq is weak, yamato is weak, non-venezia italian AA is weak.

    Smolensk AA op

You jokesters and the flak puffs. Smolensk absolutely has enough to reduce a full bomber squad to one attack of AA. The turning circle is huge of the HE bombers - so huge that flak puffs actually appear again after your dive because you are more than 3.5km out. So if you want to multistrike a smolensk you better use an island otherwise pre-drop until it is only one strike.
  9. Really? I think breaking into unicum within the first month while still experimenting is not too bad. Midway is at 2200 PR and rising steadily.
  10. Nothing happens if you report them for being AFK anyway. The only functional button is misbehaviour in chat
  11. Although it touches a bit on a different topic I want to discuss in the future without CVs weak AA has no meaning. The lack of smoke has less meaning. If you think of smoke/good AA being something a ship "pays" for in other areas. For AA specifically it kinda feels a bit that just a dice is rolled to determine if something has good or bad AA but never the less it is something that is a consideration when you look at a ship. Now if we had a ship that gets extra dmg from torpedos, then of course that player would hate the benham or other torpedo boats with a passion. I also understand that people like to say that CV counters everything equally which is flat out false. Haku is not midway is not audacious. Only the haku can deal significant dmg to all cruisers for example. As Midway your torps are not that threatening to cruisers and your HE bombers are hard to place on cruisers that are in movement the aiming circle is just a bit bigger than most high tier cruisers are so you are not seeing those gigantic 6 hit bomb drops often and even that is still less damage than a 3 cit drop of the haku. Additionally I am trying to capture a match where I have to endure a lot of strikes from the enemy CV as a DD but the reality is they hardly engage with me since I do not present an easy target to them while still doing what I am doing like in other matches. It is not likeust because there is a CV that every single players is actually interacting with it.
  12. Is there one? Any current content with live chat so you can discuss target selection a bit or does nobody dare to publicly stream it? Whenever I check twitch I mostly see anything but CV

    Post-CV balance and legendary modules

To be honest there is no excuse to exclude any T10 ship out of legendary modules.
  14. Haha thanks that was actually funny. Never played the enterprise so I didn't realize what a beast she is. What a turning circle on the rocketplanes, 6 AP bombs and okay torpedos. Might aswell call it T10
  15. Well looking at some winrates for CVs they go as high as 80% or even more which is an indication that you can decide most games by yourself. The skill ceiling on the drops, slingshots and stuff is not that high so that is why I would love to watch some current stuff while being able to ask questions about a situation immediately to breach the 60% again.
  16. No need for anything else and there is more to target selection than that. It isn't helpful for the winrate if I go after solo BBs in the backline even if I accumulate massive damage doing so. Tried all kind of things like focussing the enemy pushers, focussing dd, focussing cruiser, trying to wipe out BBs swiftly, trying to single strike into blobs but nothing crystallized as clearly superior Edit: I also tried denying advantageous positions. E.g. smolensk that is about to hide behind an island will be attacked with torps to force movement so either it arrives delayed or not at all if mates can also clip it during evasive maneuvers or if a Kremlin/stalingrad as a nice nose in position I will use the bombers to quickly chop off 30-40k and light it on fire striking the nose and the rear. I try to leave the superstructure in peace so my saturation doesn't add to the easiest dmg pool for other ships
  17. How often do you intend to write the same message?

WHEN DO YOU FIX THE CV UI BUG?!

Also never encountered it and hope I never will. Good luck for the folks that do encounter it though
  19. Frankly most people in any given match do not chat at all. That is the primary reason why people do not get chatbanned when playing CV.
  20. While you speak the truth it is literally not the point of the topic. It is known to all reasonable people that CVs get reported more - it is also known why. The solution cannot be play CV less, but that WG implements punishments for abusing the report function or more precisely the misbehaviour in chat. It is very clear what misbehaviour in chat means. Slurs, homophobic stuff, fashism stuff and so on. Obviously we have specialists here that think harmless chat is also misbehaviour in chat likely so they can justify their own abuse of that function. WG can start by removing people that use misbehaviour in chat 3 times when the target never spoke. As this dims out the abusers you can then proceed to sit two interims down to go through a couple of reported logs and when they find abuse they strike the people out. This process can be done for one day per week. As this progresses the workload becomes less and less since it is not like everyone abuses the system. Is it unlikely that they will do something like that? Yeah, but that doesn't mean that you should turn a blind eye to these reports. The CV report spam is not a new thing either it was like that during RTS days too. It is shortsighted since next up the line we have smolensk, then maybe colbert, kremlin? Should we also not play those ships so we don't get chatbanned or should the system get invested in.
  21. Yes which is why I am saying nobody is actually checking those reports or they wouldn't lead to a ban. But because they (mostly) are not the automatic ban simply triggers due to volume - not because of what was said. Yes never got one of those. This post is not about karma. I don't have a karma problem. It mostly goes up while you play CV.
  22. That is not correct. The only reason I get chatbanned is because nobody is actually sitting his [edited]down and check those reports. I do chat so the automatic void doesn't trigger for me. Unrelated to your post I actually gain more karma than losing it, but I rather be left alone with any of it, without being forbidden to joke around with people. Compliment them or telling them what they are truly doing wrong that gets them killed by the enemy CV immediately.
  23. That is exactly why I wrote this. It does matter. I am not the only one here supporting that CV are indeed getting reported way easier. If you have no chatbans on other classes and then you switch to CV and face constant chatban then clearly - the class is not the deciding factor. Clearly I become a violent chatter the moment I pick up my CVs
  24. Asking someone that is raging in teamchat while we are handily winning is not an obnoxious question. Asking if a sick play was cool is also not obnoxious. I have yet to get longrange crossdropped by a midway in a DD - in fact in any class. When someone makes a sick play I congratulate them too - like many others. I am not the one writing [edited]you CV when I get killed by a CV - which actually basically doesn't happen. The CV players are not at fault that people don't like how they play.
  25. The only thing my stats show is that I played only CV for two years and then unlocked all other classes using mostly FXP without ever having fired a gun. Every time I come back to the game there is new lines, new gimmicks and new stuff and it takes time adapting each time and a better game comes out and I skitter off again. So yeah when 50% of your games are CV games (most of it during RTS) then going straight into high tier DD german, leaving and coming back to british DD line reveal, leaving and coming back to italian line the stats will show that there was never enough time to properly learn the new classes to the same degree.
