I have an old one gathering dust. I work overseas so need mobile gaming. Dragging a 17" clevo based laptop is a pain at airports but worth it for the gaming.
-
Cool stuff guys. Used to build pc's and oc them but I'm way out of touch now. My concern was the gfx card going pop but I don't clock that. Performance is still good so I'll just get another lappy in a year.
-
Laptop gfx card? I'm interested to hear about sourcing these. I run a cube chameleon custom which has anow nvidia 980m card. Whilst it runs wows well and has mega cooling (strictly headphones as it's noisy a f) I would like to replace as it's 3 years old. CPU is i7 and it has 16gb of RAM so I think it's still viable. It's a clevo case so huge for a lappy. No joy in sourcing a card though. Google suggests you just replace the lappy although mine is modular so should be possible?

I prefer my copper matrix hat and stoke my life sized cutout of David Icke 10 times to get out of a loosing streak. If the loosing streak continues I'm not elaborating further on what the Dave requires................................

It sound's interesting and variation to weaponry invokes stimulation in employing and countering. My issue is, are torpedo's a counter to BB's? Battleships already stand off from the cap or huddle together for warmth and comfort by the borders (closer to the Earths core I heard). So the torpedo's need a viable target. Currently those high tier walls of skill are the reason BB's stay clear until the scourge DD's have been scared off. Visible torps can be dodged, or a charging high tier BB is going to accept a few hits whilst attempting to beat. So if you can't see the DD that launched, and you can't see the torps (I'm guessing here) what are you going to do? Well hopefully have a screen of cruisers and DD's detecting the enemy and torps? I don't see these as a BB counter unless they have extreme range. The ability to launch from a cap, have the torps run under DD's and CL's and travel to the border may make BB's rethink they are safe. I would welcome deep water running torps but don't see them as a counter. A more viable counter would be BB's that are x km from a cap or fail to travel x km distance invoke a bot submarine attack or strike from a land based bomber or if they fail to deal an arbitrary amount of damage or receive damage, their captain should suffer loss of renown and have skills reduced until slung in a brig for repetitive cowardice.- 330 replies

Nice game. I'm enjoying mine more now. Not getting much damage but just being sneaky spotting and capping. I'm sure there is something mixed in with the HE though. I've detonated two enemy destroyers with lucky shots as they flee. Kinda wtf moments????
-
OP I've done the same as you. I wanted to play CV to learn about the 'enemy' and get a perception from the other side. Your damage is far better than mine but my WR is 60% which I consider meaningless. I've not yet met any tier 6. I thought T4 was capped to T5? I'm also not in a rush to move up until I get the Air Superiority skill. I have been learning about baiting and as the others say it's like Chess. Maybe my WR is higher as I try and spot and tie up his squadrons by feinting and retreating and preventing strikes. When there's two CV's per team (normally a T5) I try and assist my comrade for AS then go for the strikes. Of course sometimes I meet an absolute clubber who seems to run me in circles and always destroy my fighters. I honestly think there should be a battlecap at T4 to prevent clubbing with CV's as it makes a huge difference. Regardless it is a fascinating playstyle and I think I'm improving. I need to complete watching Fara's CV guide videos as they are jampacked with advice. So much to learn and I struggle with the zoom of the CV's eye in the sky so play from the map itself. WoT arty is much better in this respect and you can change the camera angle too which adds to your perception and is 3d instead of the 2d look down. Certainly if I'm in another class I have a very healthy respect for a good cv driver. I have encountered a few of the more famous cv players and witnessed the power of their fully operation deathstars! Hope to meet you in a match. Edit:- Ah just noticed you play Zuiho not Hosho hence meeting T6. Yeah I'm not looking forward to that.

Buy a Tirpitz or Sharnhorst. Best KM battleships. Grind out the RN line for a bit of variation.

Thanks a lot but i think i won't buy anything more if you continue like this

Suggestions to help with Battleships
MeTaLMooSe replied to DocStrangeFruit's topic in General Discussion
The way I see it is each class has evolved to become an independent warship not a fleet vessel. Outside of the realms of competitive play there is little hope of ship classes playing their individual role. I suspect if this had been strongly developed from the start we may not have the current situation. I do feel the battleship woe is overhyped. There are bad players in every class and essentially it's the destroyers, cv's and cruisers that make the play. I play every class and the only time I get miffed is when a cv is around and I'm in a destroyer. But that's only because I know he will ruin my game if he's good. And that's the essence. Any good player will play any ship and make a team contribution. Maybe statistically battleships have far more bad players as they can survive longer. If you increase rudder shift bb's won't go near a cap with destroyers lurking. Remove AA combined with increased rudder and it's a free cv kill. Do you really think cruisers will play their role and escorts bb's? Nope. Most will play 'their' game and sod the consequences. I personally think battleship detection should be increased but then you just know they will spawn camp. Ultimately no matter what WG do there will always be the useless morons, the less gifted, the middle ground backbone and then the pro's. Make peace with your ability and try to compensate for those lacking and support those doing the winning. WG play the 'Butterfly Effect'. One small change and they set in motion a complete upheaval. -

Having recently got Missouri I've found a new confidence in her sister Iowa. RNG kept smiling and the citadels kept rolling in. The Best was revenge on a Minotaur that had been shadowing and spamming me all game. Just before he cloaked up I got a good target solution and he ceased to exist. Most fun game all night closely run up by a good game in Fiji. -
A look at fighter "balance" between IJN and US carriers of T4 and T5
MeTaLMooSe replied to dayofmone's topic in General Discussion
I'm playing Langley and Hosho at present. I wanted to appreciate the pro's and cons of CV play. TBH between the two I don't notice any huge difference between fighters (I don't have AS skill yet) but a huge difference in player ability. Both ships are fun to play and tactically fulfilling as you try and bait the enemy fighters whilst sneaking in a strike. There are a fair few games with two cv's on each team which can be problematic if you have noobs vs clubbers. This is my biggest challenge. I've learnt enough to be able to play but don't have the experience to play against a seasoned clubber, and there are and you will see the same names repeating. So at tier 4 I have no problem with the aircraft abilities. just the amount of stat padders farming us noobs. I don't play them enough to get salty and you can learn from them. But maybe tier 4 only should have a battle count cap where after fixed amount you can no longer play tier 4? And I like cv's ingame. Be they an asset or oxygen thieving moron they do add variety and the 3rd dimension to the game. -
Do you need a moneymaker? Premium time + premium ships of choice = Kerching!! I remember in WoT always having to have money grinding sessions to pay for tier 10 games and tanks but WoWs? They practically throw the stuff at you.

Texas in Premium Shop + Stars & Stripes camo
MeTaLMooSe replied to MaxxyNL's topic in General Discussion
Just before I took Texas out for a cruise I had a quick check of the camo and flag stats. The Stars and Stripes are now available for 1k Dubloons with same stats as standard premium camo. Oh yeah! Dispensing 10 Trump votes for democracy in a sea near you! Of course I had to mount it that moment and take freedom of gaming to the high seas..... "I wanted to see exotic maps... the crown jewel of EU server. I wanted to meet interesting and stimulating ships of an unbalanced culture... and kill them. I wanted to be the first kid on my block to get a confirmed citadel! -
FacebookRU: T5 Soviet Battleship "October Revolution" (ex-Gangut) announced.
MeTaLMooSe replied to ShortySunderland's topic in Battleships
I think Oktobrtskaya Revolutsiya looks amazing. I will certainly pick her up. Regarding T5 gameplay. I don't play Texas much but I always have fun with her so don't see it as an issue. -
Is this just for collection completion? Maybe WG could implement a collectable trade mechanism across all collections and unwanted duplicates could be seen in inventory and sold. But then again campaigns are a participation event and the time frame is not ungenerous.

If there's one thing a radar cruiser hates it's baiting out his radar then motoring out of range for the duration. If he spots you then you have already spotted and identified him in your dd. Hit speed boost and get out of range and behind cover. Hopefully your teammates will also spot him and you can call in a focus fire. Most teams hate Belfasts so are most obliging to nuke him. It's a game mechanic that can be exploited both ways. I will admit though that high tier dd play is tough with the counters against you. Those wise old dd mains are the ones that don't go rushing in blind and tend to make a real impact in the mid to late game when the more fragile radar cruisers have been eliminated.

Agreed.
