I was playing Ru T4 Izzy DD last night and snuck up on a Langley. I was shocked when it had the nerve to defend itself and the secondaries started ripping me a new one! He was good mind. WASD haxed like a pro and then torped me to death. Schooled was I!

(out of myself included). There seems to be a separate little spat of accusations going on............ People see this thread for what it is. Some of us do not like the Kantai in this game. Some of us do. I really don't care but had to question why it's become so trendy for 'Poi' to be shouted everywhere it seems. If my contempt for this content upsets anyone then sorry but that's my view and I've made it. Clearly everyone has their own view but lets not forget this is a forum and judging by the amount of replies Kantai/Japanese anime content is a salty McFlamable subject. Lets just separate some facts here folks. The ships we play are based on (mostly) actual historic naval ships of warfare and all that comes with it. You cannot separate the history from them unless you invent a game based on complete fictional ships and conflict. The connotations of whether their history should be acknowledged and respected is a matter of semantics. The Kantai Collection is fiction based upon real ships. Therefore any content of it is purely fictional. Whether it should be related to a game marketed as a historic naval warfare online game is questionable and purely a means of making it more appealing to an audience that enjoys this content and hence more revenue. Lets all agree to disagree but at least we can voice our opinions. Maybe later there will be more grumpy old men to interject with their contempt and distaste. I am generally shocked by the amount of replies that are on the Kantai fan side. I guess students and the like? I have at least learnt what its all about but am still utterly dismayed at the decision of WG to include this. Poi

There is an anime girl named after a WW2 IJN destroyer and it is cute and embracing history etc?? I'm just going to chop some firewood with my lightsabre then I have a few pesky orc raiding parties to deal with. I would be interested to see WG's marketing figures as to how much money anime brings in. As you say it's a generation gap thing, how much money are the younger segment bringing in to warrant an absurd abstract relationship with the ARP stuff? (as I mentioned warranted on the SEA server) And yes I admit I am oldish and grumpy and if you play online you open yourself to the entire spectrum of a player base. But warships?? Are there not already games already based on this content? Poi

No I went to the specials page and there were 2 bundles for Yubari along with Sharn and Prinz. I did think it was an odd special to be sold now? Certainly not one of the invitations offered.

I agree. Ramming is a last ditch kamikaze attempt when you know you are going to die. Trading your fading about to die ship for a bigger threat to your team is a valid strategy.

I agree with the AA role however.... Who really wants to play a cruiser playing AA nurse maid whilst the battleships and destroyers get all the glory? I think the nail has been hit squarely on the head. Don't give BB's toys. Give cruisers all the lovely shiny toys to play with. I like cruisers and play them but, if I'm honest they are a skill level above my current ability to play well and satisfying. Maybe that is the crux of the issue? The average player Base just isn't skilled enough or employing enough team play to truly make cruisers more popular. There still seems to be plenty around and lots played extreme well.

The fact is rigged or not MM is pretty good for keeping us punters playing. I've played WoT since near the beginning and now WoWs. Spent £££££'s for the privilege for what? To be an average player. The fact is the roller coaster of wins and losses keeps those emotions high to continue. Next battle I will win. Next battle I need to win. Next battle I really weally want to win #$%€! That was awesomely awesome! I am invincible! Next battle I will win....... Drip fed gaming narcotics.

So in essence up to tier 8 the balance is considered ok'ish. And above is troubled? Double cruiser income and halve repair costs. Job done
