Help me to understand here folks, I only started WoW's a few patches ago. I see a lot of topics about how many BB's there are and it's so unfair to cruisers blah blah. Was it much different a while ago? What was the ratio of BB to CA to DD in the good ol' days? Personally I see games of every type of balancing (although I'm only up to tier 8 in a few ships) And Do the cruiser guys only play cruisers? I play all ships and so see the balance from all aspects but don't get the furore?? I think the balance is pretty good compared to WoT nowadays but accept that the gameplay is dynamic with every patch released. I'm not having a dig at the guys complaining but just wondering what and when was the golden days of cruisers you seem to be missing.

Absolutely true but why would any sane minded person expect anything else ? A cruiser is always going to come off 2nd best to a battleship in a fair fight . I'm sure many of the more gifted forumites can achieve 100k in a cruiser but the majority of us can't. we can in a bb though so . ....... Anyway check out my C.A.N.E. post . Some of us are now sailing cruisers to aid the cause.

Cruisers Are Not Extinct How about a game? You would have to be blind to not notice the cries of anguish from cruiser drivers suffering at the heards of migrating battleships as they seek warmer waters to breed. I've checked my own stats (pitiful battlecount I know) and have 32% cruisers to 52% BB and 15% DD. So, how about we Battleship salts moor them up in port and take out our cruisers for a while in a show of solidarity? Every time a game starts, after the normal greetings etc type out CANE to all. If you are a fellow convert reply AYE. Lets see how many AYE replies we can get and if it makes a jot of difference

Ah I wondered why the tier 9's were hounding my kutuzov like co-op bots earlier.

Just try and play your cruisers a bit more and don't forget to type CANE or if you see that reply Aye! The BB heards only have breeding on their minds so should be easy enough to coral into the map corner and thin out a bit. Just watch out for the occasional horny Bull Battleship!!

I sometimes revert to co-op if I'm tired or having a bad run in randoms. The bots are unwaveringly aggressive and I've yet to work out if they spawn and actually head for a cap or are triggered when the 1st human is spotted. Their aggressive focus firing is either free kills whilst they offer their broadsides to you or you spend a match being chased by an entire bot team! Completely unrelated gameplay to randoms! I don't bother much now playing DD's on co-op as mentioned, they will hunt you down like a dog to the exclusion of everything else. You can't really adopt smokescreens as they will just charge you down. Very good for evasion and honing your WASD hax though. Good for target practise as I've been getting to grips with the new dynamic crosshair but useless for random tactics except...... Torps. The bots are torp ninjas. I've witnessed some truly sneaky torp salvos from them. And they are very adept at dodging them. They are actually pretty good practise for the German BB head on torp yolo. Their CV target priority is odd too. Again good practise if the bot cv driver decides to lock onto you. I just hope they never get to see matrix and escape from their oceans!

It's a sweet ship. I'm starting to get to grips with mine after progressing as far as the Oggy. Once I'd cottoned on to the Ru gunplay and adopted it to the Lenningrad I've started to see it's potential. It's got so much speed, 5 good guns along with stealth and 8k torps. What's not to like? After the shock and adaptation of Gnevey turrets these are no problem. (Although it lacks guns when kiting) Makes a great captain trainer although I doubt I'll spec it for stealth unless I train up a dedicated captain (doubtful as there are not enough hours in the day...)

What on earth is all this Japenese ARP nonsense and now 'Poi' shouted everywhere? The ships are bad enough but at least you can opt out of the port. Agreed. I have Atago but don't take it into randoms yet. The meta is a different ballgame. A tier 6 or 7 IJN battleship is sorely missed for crew training on my path to Yamato.

Regarding the link of BB's relationship to history and players . I would agree on that to an extent . I think we would all be in agreement to suggest battleships were astonishingly ineffective , expensive, absurd inventions of man's desire to project power. WWI proved the cost in lives and ships and WWII proved the complete waste of materiel and time building these things then trying to eliminate your enemies . Fortunately (or not) man is ingenious and discovered aircraft carriers could deliver far more destruction even further away at a cheaper and quicker build time than any BB. Perfect . Now back to the game . Many of us maybe of an age where boyhood toys and stories were WW2 obsessed . Until the likes of Star Wars figures we all played wargames. Now along comes WG with its tanks and ships , the addictive grinding and wallet spreading slutty premiums in a fast paced dynamic package . oh no ! None of your dreary simulator 12 hr battles here me hearties . So with the little boys dissapointment firmly lodged in the back of the mind, resenting the facts the RN never got to sink Tirpitz or the mighty Yamato was nothing more than a gunbarge in reality . We suddenly can make ammends and re-enact the glorious (except they weren't ) naval battles and readdress that stuffy old history . That is why battleships rule the waves and who doesn't want to captain something that should have been but never was man's most glorious battlewagon ? Just wait until Graf Spee comes up for sale . if WG had even half a braincell they would give us Ajax, Achilles and Exeter a day later . Guaranteed cruiser income and popularity. Just a view into maybe why some folks love their battleships .

I think the thing about cruisers is they are hard to play well. Watch someone like Flamu rack up 100k plus and try yourself. Bottom line is cruiser play is hard mode. I have tried to emulate these styles and admitt to struggle to do decent damage. You need to be sneaking around hiding behind islands and your BB buddies. Repair kits from tier 6 would make a big difference. I'm not complaining. It's a class I know I have to gid gud with and I think many whiners need to admitt this to themselves.

I've had a couple of OK'ish containers and as often as I get disappointed, lets not forget they are FREE. All flags, consumables etc are gratefully received although more camo patterns would be nice WG!

Chaps and chapess's, Can we get over any aforementioned links of WoWs Kantai/anime content and any relationship to pervy connotations and such like. The subject was purely about what does Poi mean, why is it mentioned and why is it in this game. That's been answered. Whether it should be and if you like/dislike want to make jest or poke fun is fully debateable. Lets not get into any other spats about Japanese animation. That was never on the agenda stated or implied.

As per title. Topics with replies in the hundreds won't open on my lappy or phone. Waity waity...... nothing. Browser history etc is auto cleared on IE exit. Any ideas?
