Aoba seems to be a poor choice overall due to poor DPM, few guns (RNG factor) and awful torpedo angles, Omaha seems indeed better as long as you stay out of enemy focus. @up yeah Murmansk can do everything Omaha does and better. -
Seems the difficulty already started to weed out the casuals. I had 2 games today, 4-star in Cleve and 5-star in Budyonny, both times we saved the carrier except in 1st battle it caught fire and burned down... Not planning on playing this anymore until the next operation is unlocked, or defeat rewards are tweaked.

So KGV gets interchangeable historical 14" and planned 15" guns but Gneise doesn't? Legit. Still can't wait to have the RN BBs in game even though I'll most probably stop at tier 7 -
I don't think premium account has anything to do with difficulty level or matchmaking. this is just a cospiracy theory that has been around since the start of World of tanks. Highly competitive premium ships on the other hand are a different matter, but not so much at tier 6.

Seriously, tweak the rewards. Hardcore players are not going to play this mode because they prefer PvP. PvE players are 95% of the casual type. They are going to be losing a lot of silver on this mode so they will rather stick to the ol' trusty co-op. If you plan on keeping this mode this challenging chop off some rewards from the high-end if you must but make the defeats at least slightly profitable. Right now a defeat after a good battle yields -15k creds, no premium consumables used. A defeat after a hard-fought 20min battle is punishment enough, losing money after that is just a kick in the balls.

Most disappointing SC rewards for me are the unique modules that I never use. But on the other hand better to have that whole container lottery than not. I mean hey, it's free! Most useful rewards I got so far were doubloons, free exp and ocean soul camo bundles. A ship would be nice but knowing my luck it will be something along the lines of a Tachibana :p @up me too, keeping them just in case they introduce special module slot for them.

The lexington part seems to be the hardest, unless there are multiple allies already in gun range of the pursuing cruisers there is no way to save her. I think we have only manager to do it once, still only a 4-star victory because i think one of the forts got destroyed.

Yeah after playing through the weekend I can say that t6 CV is a must, the t5 without manual torps do badly and their plane reserves are too small. Ideal team would be Ryujo+Clevelands and some Fusos. DD's seem to have too little dpm and get focused and killed too quickly once spotted without smoke/Island cover. My ship of choice is the Cleveland since I'm a cheapskate and Cruisers rely on premium consumables the least :p And thanks to the brilliant economy I'm still at -15k on a loss. -
Did you read what I wrote? I'm fine with the challenge. Just the rewards on a loss are a joke, 150exp and 20k credits for a 150k+ damage game (before service and ammo fee)? come on...this is what makes losing in this mode so frustrating. You should at least be able to break even at tier VI. Makes me wonder how it is going to look when they introduce Tier VIII operations.

Looks like we have a bada$$ over here. So you got lucky with teams a few times, congrats. Now let me tell you I'm topping the scoreboard in almost every attempt and most I have managed is 4 stars. The "L2P" comments you can keep to yourself. Anyways, challenge is fine. My only grievance is with the rewards on a loss, it is so pitiful it makes me cringe every time I see the team potatoing. The only way to be able to carry consistently as a solo player is to bring a CV and I unfortunately don't play those.

I recommend watching Flamu's explanation on IFHE mechanics. 15cm guns are the most benefitting class, plus 127 on Atlanta and 180mm of Donskoi -

I don't own any of them but I'd pick Scharnhorst over Hood anytime. I'd have bought it long ago If I didn't already have the Spee for training purposes If you really wanna go British I think Warspite will give you better bang for the buck.

Well if two main damage dealers died so early the game was doomed for the start. I guess when it comes to t5 CV's Bogue strike deck could indeed fare better thanks to sturdier planes. -
Actually sticking to the islands close to spawn seems to be the best tactic at least for cruisers. The yoloers that go full spead ahead and then have the later waves spawn right next to them seem alot less successful. On the other hand Island hugging requires someone spotting for you that's why having a CV is so important.

I noticed that even if the torpedo strikes miss, bots tend to change course drastically to avoid them, slow down to a complete stop or even hit islands which buys your team precious time. Second advantage is additional recon and finally quicker response especially in the Lexington spawn phase. I haven't completed this objective yet once but it seems that a carrier has the best shot at saving the Lexi. -

I for one like the new buff as it is something unique and gives the line more versatlilty while keeping the (situational) high AP damage as main flavor. It's also consistent with the BB HE. If the AP penetration was buffed extensively then the UK cruisers could feel cheated. I hope they will extend this mechanic to German DDs as well, or at least Gaede ans Z-23 150mm.

Well, I have 75k avg dmg in the Bismarck and still 47% WR Truth is at T8 you are facing much more good players and they will not hesitate to hand your behind over to you. The ship power gap is alot bigger between T8 and T10 as well, than let's say between T5-T7. All in all, I don't like the high tier games much so far.

It is alot easier with a semi-competent CV (Newport). Still, very hard for randoms and too easy for pre-mades (which usually have a CV in team, and good too). Now when it comes to my choices in Newport defense: DD's-only for spotting and stealth torping so Kamikaze, Shino, Fubuki... CA-an IFHE Cleveland seems to work best thanks to raw dpm and shell arcs, Budyonny and Nurnberg might work too but it is more difficult to utilise terrain BB- I'd pick Fuso for the best dpm, Maybe Warspite for accuracy and secondaries. Bayern too inaccurate, USN too long reload CV-any CV is a great help -
On the other hand, games without a friendly CV are pretty common and it is a huge handicap right from the start.

I think it is difficult enough as it is seeing as having your own CV is not guaranteed, I only seem to get one in 1 out of 5 games. The difficulty at the moment is a mess, because it seems too easy for premades and too difficult for randoms. Especially without a CV.

Finally got a CV in team and managed to get 4 stars. Still, the hardest part is to save the Lexington (in Newport) as the Mogami and Hipper spawn immediately in gun range and their combined DPS is just too high.

It's nigh-impossible to complete it without a good division. And the rewards are meager except on a 5-star win (good luck with that). So far all the battles I've attempted had no carrier in them. Last game Was a 170k dmg loss on a Cleveland. Result=15k credits LOSS, without camo or premium consumables. Thanks but no thanks.
