For me it looks like the prototype of Chernobyl sarcophagus.

Once he rammed my Nurnberg so hard (in the Mahan smoke) that we became stuck, I couldn't move neither forward nor back and he just kept pushing me sideways for like 1-2 minutes until some Ishizuchi ended me by raping my exposed broadside...

Myogi...there are people who like it but it is just horrible for the average player. You can get twice better results with a Wyoming using one hand while drunk and blindfolded. EDIT The turrets on the Myogi are so far away from each other and so few that you indeed feel like drunk and blindfolded when shooting them. Most hilarious when shooting at close targets, must be imperial gunners from "Spaceballs"

PVE Scenarios (S1): Which ships for which missions?
BlackYeti replied to Sams_Baneblade's topic in General Discussion
Shiratsuyus are the worst possible spawn at first wave, it is a sign that somebody WILL die, usually it's more "somebodys". Out of fail actions from today, I had a Cleve captain completely ignore the Schors captain rescue, he sailed 0.5km away from the circle and went on to kill carriers, he was the only one in vicinity. We won with 4 stars but losing a star to such moronic action is just downright embarassing/frustrating. -
Cruisers are very challenging to play because of current meta and game design. They get alot of focus because they are easily citadelled and are too dangerous/annoying to be ignored. As a BB player it is much more beneficial for your team to shoot at enemy cruiser whenever the opportunity arises because this way you are depriving the enemy team of alot of firepower, sonar/radar and/or AA in one go. Guess which ship class has the longest waiting queue in PvE?

It's a common mistake people make (me included) with IJN battleships, they see high base range and weak-ish hull armor and immediately think "sniper". IJN ships like Kongo,Fuso, Nagato, Amagi all play more or less the same and their area of expertise is mid-range brawling. They have long sleek hulls which allows better angling, and their guns are actually accurate when compared to US and German BBs. It's just that at these tiers no BB is accurate over 15kms. I wish WG reduced the max range of IJN ships and got rid of their spotting planes so people would start to play them properly and not as 20km HE spammers.

That's the key here. Usually with random teams it's more like this: at second spawn somebody is already dead, sombody is still afk and somebody decided to take the scenic route south around the Island while rest of the team rushed off chasing that lone burning Ishizuchi fleeing East. Turning north right after killing the 1st wave (without crossing the island line) can be alot more efficient but it is also risky, so I usually cross the island line and then deal with the enemies i can see (less broadside targets this way though). This tactic is also highly dependent on the types of enemies that spawn. My favourites are Kumas, Aobas and Myokos. Kumas because they can be bow-citadelled with 150mm AP and Aoba/Myoko because they can't torp you until they show flat broadside which is enough to instadelete them with a Cleveland AP salvo. Furutakas are more tricky thanks to generous torp angles and Ishizuchis because they can't be killed fast enough and their crappy 305mm AP are still deadly to any cruiser.

I was torn between the Yammy and Dunk. Voted for the Dunk because I think in the end the 2x2, four barrel setup is more interesting. Drawn one on top of another!

PVE Scenarios (S1): Which ships for which missions?
BlackYeti replied to Sams_Baneblade's topic in General Discussion
As part of me agrees with this, again be careful what you wish for. Remember how frustrating was the randomness of Lexington spawn in Newport? Frustrating as in: RNG decides if you will have any chance at all to complete the objective? With random spawns the overall difficulty would have to be reduced even further to cater for the average PvE player (Potato vs Environment). Which would lead to situations where it is either extremely easy if the enemy spawns in a convenient location and pretty hard when your team is out of position. And it is easy to be out of position if the enemy spawns randomly. -
It would be perfectly fine if tanking actually resulted in exp/silver in other ways than spotting damage. The way it is now it just outright frustrating repairing a double fire only to receive a triple fire soon after DCP runs out. The bots rarely use AP even on full broadside targets, they just go full potato mode and shoot HE all day. So no way to angle against incoming fire, most you can hope for is to break vision as soon as you are focused which is not so easy in a slow cumbersome BB. I'm only playing BB's in this scenario to get some exp for their captains, Cruisers are much better suited for the task, I manage to get 200k+ damage games regularly in my Cleve, Buddy or Neinberg.

Another defeat today, 2 Murmansks and Nicholas rushed north at the start of game, got wiped out by the second enemy spawn. Another game Bayern rammed me in smoke and pushed straight into Shira torpedo wall. It is happening...

PVE Scenarios (S1): Which ships for which missions?
BlackYeti replied to Sams_Baneblade's topic in General Discussion
Indeed I think DD's might get more love on the HARD difficulty, where wise use of smoke may be needed. We already had a hint on Newport where smoking the Lexington was quite beneficial, still it required the DD to be very close to it's spawn point. -
PVE Scenarios (S1): Which ships for which missions?
BlackYeti replied to Sams_Baneblade's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I believe you got the "i'll be back" in the battle we met today, I remember seeing it in the post-battle stats No idea what's it for though, maybe PvE version of "fireproof"? Or maybe when you die after completing the objective because I remember you died literally on the last second. Regarding ship classes in Aegis, my picks are the same: Cleveland, Budyonny and Fuso Best damage count so far was in a Fuso-249k but cruisers are more consistent. -
Word must have spread that this mode is easy, because I've been getting more and more bad teams, struggling with each star. And a funny one: last game I parked in the first Mahan smoke with my Nurnberg, and the bot Schors rammed me and got stuck in my side. I couldn't move, he kept pushing me sideways for about 2 minutes until Ischizuci citadelled my helpless broadside to hell. Frustrating. EDIT: this turned out to be my first defeat in Aegis. So yes, it is possible to lose after all!

Three or four recent supercontainers brought me only those crap modules...care to exchange them for your dragon flags? :p

The ships in Aegis seem to spawn randomly although only BB's are Ishizuchis so no real threat. Most dangerous are DD's, torp wall at the beginning seems to always take at least one team member, once I lost 3 to the first wave, still won though. Then Myokos. Kuma's are surprisingly annoying thanks to overpens and HE spam. Most effective ships I think are Fusos and Clevelands/Budyonnys. Contrary to newport, CV is not required. I'd almost like to say that this is too easy now but then again last game I had a New Mex that kept firing HE on 5km broadside Aoba and then died to plane torps when carriers spawned...so yeah I'm happy where things are
-
Aegis was such a welcome change from Newport. No more Scharnhorsts, Gneisenaus, Izumos, Mogamis, Hiryu constantly pushing you to the edge of your capabilities and beyond.
-
Newport definitely needs adjustments, playing it I felt like I need to operate at 150% efficiency for the whole mission, it was stressful and definitely not the type of mission for the casual gamer.
-
fighting autowin rocks.. i mean cruisers
BlackYeti replied to RenamedUser_544573522's topic in General Discussion
I'm surprised how the thread managed to stay mostly civil this long I came to this game for the cruisers and ended up playing BBs because I sucked. Im happy with the new PvE operations because finally I can play cruisers again and be useful for my team -
Got 5 stars on 1st attempt it felt so much more comfortable than Newport, not having to fight Scharnhorsts, Gneisenaus and other OP ships.

If this is a test bed for future global DCP change...superintendent might become mandatory for just about any ship.

British Battleship line - Everything I believe is FUBAR + Suggestions
BlackYeti replied to SeaMonsterUK's topic in General Discussion
Well in this case KGV is in the same shoes as any other T8 BB. Doesn't matter if she gets 356mm, 381 or 420mm as she will autobounce on angled 32mm bows and pen broadsides just as well. -
On my last game the Lexington planes detonated the Izumo from almost full health. Hax, pls nerf Almost wanted to shout: "PAYBACK, B****!!"
-
Unfortunately, it's stronger than me

Finally managed to get 5 stars today. Thing is that the operation can be quite easy in a division but for someone that plays mostly solo they can be even more frustrating than randoms, because in randoms you are not losing money at tier 6 even on defeats. I know that in the long run the day ends at a net profit but seeing that negative balance after each defeat makes me cringe.
