  1. My record dmg on Yammy was 203k, and it was a draw as well ( didn't safe the screenshots though sadly but I am fairly certain I got a replay ). I think the 7 ships killed is even bigger then your dmg number I only managed six I think max, and that might have been only once as well

critical error unable to update the launcher file

Contact Bullguard dev's and ask for a fix? Or you can try the same fix as with Kaspersky and add WoWs to a white-list ( preferably a folder wide one ).

    In game replay system

You need to manually edit your preferences.xml file in your wows folder. There was a sticky in the cbt feedback forum but I am having troubles finding, brb and will update post with the correct link ;) edit: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/11679-replay-function/page__p__205058#entry205058 hth

    Battleships are useless

There is no rng in how much health you can recover, it's purely percentage and time based.
  6. This is EXACTLY the issue, it's not that cruisers can't do their role it's battleships which don't properly work in conjunction with their cruisers. But that is hardly the game's fault, it's the players who need to get their head out the sand and stop thinking this is the same as WoT where you can carry teams based on your personal awesomeness
  7. Bl4ckh0g, on 11 May 2015 - 11:12 AM, said: Well you are essentially killing another Yamato every battle. Your Wr should be around 50-51% based on your stats. I would not call that "passive" Which is a good way to compare statistics, but only based on 1v1 encounters. If you factor in that Yamato is currently the biggest bad boy in the game, it also has a large effect on how the rest of the team plays. If they suspect me being to passive, they will also waver and in turn that will lead to more defeats I think. genai, on 11 May 2015 - 11:22 AM, said: Yes i do, i have figured the game long ago... no idea why you havent? Its not that complicated... its fairly simple game If by game 100 you didnt figure the game out, then something is wrong with you... So you're saying you already figured out the entire metagame by playing your limited selection of ships, well ok maybe it is just me then Its fairly simple... you play the game, you notice stuff... you figure it out You like supporting BBs? So thats 1 less ship in your team... and that is before US battleship enter the game, that have 2 times better AA than senjo at later tiers(8-10)... Iowa has same speed as senjo (31kt), 2 times better AA, guns turn slightly slower than senjo guns, has 50% more range and guns are fairly accurate, groupings are tight even on 20km in addition to having turn circle of like 800m, 70k+ HP, good armor and repair! But you will sit infront of BB and do what exactly? Wait for planes to arrive(even tho there are only 2 CVs max, and can be 5+ BBs so planes might never come your way) while doing absolutely nothing and being focused by everyone... because you are dmg pinata for them... and all you can do is try to dodge fire from 5-6 BBs with your 31kt CA... so fun, so useful... sitting infront of someone else and making sure that he doesnt even have to dodge any torpedoes from 2 CVs, so he can have even easier time actually playing and having fun... that would make sense if there were 6 CVs and 2 BBs, not other way around. You're not listening, cruisers don't only give AA support, they are there to screen against destroyers as well. Also, a cruiser at sufficient distance can dodge a lot of bb fire by watching them fire and then changing course but I assume you already know that. I stopped playing 1 month ago BECAUSE i figured the game out, how bad it is currently... not that i didnt play enough to figure it out! And i didnt play BBs more because they are easy and boring... so thats not my style. Same reason why i mainly played Leo1 and M48 in WoT and not obj 140 that i have... even tho obj 140 is easy mode. But difference between mediums and cruisers is the fact that medium can deal with anything thrown at him, if you are good, you just have initial disadvantage but you can overcome it. In wows, cruisers cant deal with BBs at all (even more after patch... where armor buff makes BBs just stupid, and CAs still die in 1 salvo from BBs) and people dont follow WG "rules"... as they think BBs would fight BBs while CAs support... in reality good BBs focus CAs that try to support, kill them easy asap and then proceed to destroy other team easy, as their cruisers won other side of the map and destroyers had free reign to flank BBs... You are correct, if allied bb's are to passive and let the enemy bb's focus on their supporting cruisers, you are in a bad spot and will most likely loose. You are also correct that if team composition is not to BB heavy, taking your cruisers around another flank can be more fun and more rewarding then escorting the bb's ( depends on where the enemy team has gone, fighting bb's with a cruiser head on isn't fun, but if you find yourself at a flank with only enemy cruisers you can have a lot of fun in a duel with comparable ships. However, this doesn't provide any tangible proof of this being the best or preferred way of playing. And funny how you listed several ways of how i might be "having fun"... and not 1 is how it actually is ingame atm, and most are stupid and go well with what you are doing apparently... hahaha Why would you yolo? If you go with BBs thats essentially yolo style... so guess you yolo! Staying behind... why would you have to stay behind, thats what BBs do... aka game ruiners in WoWs? I actually play cruiser the right way... and that is... after BBs go to their side of the map (open part) you go other way.. .same as all other cruisers and most DDs... and try to have your own mini game that is actually fun and has no BBs in it... sadly, after you are done fighting there... you need to deal with BBs and thats the boring and stupid part... but hey... as long as there is some obstacle or island that prevents them from shooting us who are actually having fun playing and not shooting going circles at 20km(some might find that fun... but whatever)... all is well at that part. So you're the one who ruins the gameplay by running away from your allied battleships and leaving them at the mercy of enemy destroyers and bombers, thanks for being so open about it Cruisers should be at disadvantage when facing BBs, but should be able to hurt them... also, if you get in fight with BB that has 30% hp and you have 100% hp on same tier CA... you should win... and be left with like 30-40% hp(so you still lose more, but you can finish them)! Also, if you want CAs to support, then they have to be horrible targets for BBs, so they dont even try to focus CAs first... and CAs should actually be able to do something while covering BBs... not be useless out of range of their main guns just waiting for some planes that might or might not go for BB behind you. This is a matter of correct fleet movement, your bb's should be fairly close behind you ( if not, go to other flank as MM dealt you a bad hand and you won't be effective playing as support to people who don't know how to deal with fleet operations ). I actually like the idea of roles and teamplay, support and all that... when i spotted some streams and vids before beta, and got the info about the game, i was ecstatic about it... but as you play, and as you get up the tech tree... where BBs become the majority and difference between them and cruisers increases... game becomes worse and worse... I got the game with goal of getting Senjo and Des Moines... as i wanted to be support/versatile ship that can do bit of everything... but CAs are useless atm, especially IJN ones! Only CA that might work is Des Moines, but even then... i would rather have gearing in game instead of it! Deals better with majority of ships (DDs and BBs) while being fine with guns and can deal with CAs to some extent. DM is a nice ship, it kills other cruisers fast but it still can't take any return fire. Bit of like a high rof+dpm medium in WoT. The difference is that in WoT you usually have terrain you can use, and for instance turret armor which can bounce stuff. I'm at Myoko for IJN cruisers, it's feels quite hard to play with the slow turrets and again being able to deal with incoming fire ( though it is easier to dodge salvo's with IJN cruisers, Mogami and Myoko at least are quite nippy ). DD's are the most lone wolf class in WoWs atm, it can do a lot of things and isn't so much fixed to a particular role. But I think a DM is better in an anti DD role then the gearing, just because of alpha and still silly rof. After patch BBs still can easily oneshot DDs and CAs... but BBs themselves take less dmg from all sources... on top of OP US BBs at later tiers... and all that while BBs already dominate games and usually have most ships in game... so playing CA is less and less useful, as having some US BBs in front with that BB ball on their side is essentially going to cover them better than CAs could... while also owning everything with their main guns... so CAs will be left to deal with the scraps... those 2-3 CAs and 2-3 DDs are your only realistic targets... and even then, you might get 1-2 shot by CAs themselves... Top tier cruisers are getting the repair ability currently only bb's have, that is a buff to them. Will need to play some more after patch to have any kind of valid opinion about it. Lots of text, i know... but if CA are to be useful, they need to have more than 1% chance of beating BB... 35%/65% chance in favor of BBs should do the trick... and they need more HP! In wot heavies(with exceptions of maus, e100, fv215b and IS4) have 2k-2.2k hp, mediums have 1.9k-2.1k or something... but they have much weaker armor... so their effective HP is much lower... so they end up being balanced with their DPM and stuff, as heavies just bounce more and survive more! In wows, BBs have double the HP, triple the armor, better guns, better heal, secondaries that can kill CA before CA kills BB with main guns, range, AA... and can take 3 CAs alone and survive... Makes no sense and you will never see teamplay that way, if you are supposed to support BBs that fight other BBs but you cant do crap to enemy BBs and there are barely any planes going on and you are the first to die, and everyone focuses you as you die the easiest! You end up just sitting there attracting fire while waiting to kill planes that might never come... noone sane will cover BBs while its like that... while they cant contribute anything other than AA cover bonus They are getting that repair ability, which in essence gives them more HP. But it will never, and should never be, that a single cruiser is able to take on multiple bb's, or even one, in a 1vs1 engagement. Sorry, but that would break the game entirely and remove the necessity for proper team play. Lots of text, answered in blue o7
  8. I was looking at survival rate and thinking it was a sign I was to passive, and here you are telling me it shows I had 'bad' teams You see, same numbers different interpretation.
  9. ^^ Which is what I was assuming your source was doing, just someone with a RU account playing on he public test server and writing down the changes from comparing stats in the harbor. For that effort everyone would congratulate him, which is why I asked for your source. People who take the effort to give us such changelogs deserve to have their name mentioned when their materials / data is being shared imo I really hope I misread your previous post where you said the info was from alpha forums And yeah H41 it is, this was already known for a long time. Which looking at displacement would fit best with Yamato as well.
  10. Yeah that is what I was thinking, but it would still be nice if we could look up server wide statistics of ships so I can compare my own results with those averages Anyway, I'll keep playing her, it should level out at some point, and the next patch will be good for her as well. I think he means to say that bad/good streaks happen even in totally randomized sequences, just as you can throw a dice 10 times and roll for 6 every time, which then would not be proof that six is the number with the highest occurrence overall. Btw my English isn't the besterest either
  11. 'Should be' and 'are', they are not the same thing. Also, this info could come from the PT server which isn't bound by NDA and all I wanted to know is his source so if he turns out to be reliable I will know that for the future.. But since he just said his source is taking information from the alpha forums, well that is a different story then altogether. Edit: H44.. I was hoping to against better judgement though.. compare displacement of H44 with Yamato, then tell me they are in the same 'tier' ;)
  12. I was doing Yammy again yesterday, it doesn't work for me though since I'm not at 23 battles and 3 victories But what can I do if these are my draws / looses ->

    Mogami main battery upgrade

^^ so much this. Mogami with 155's will loose it's spot, especially since Mogami and Myoko will be swapped around.
  14. ow the secrecy is just bad mkay, this info is from PT and if your source is getting info from alpha forums he is breaking nda and you're facilitating him by posting his findings on the forums.
  15. 13% is quite troubling, I assume there are plenty of people with acceptable statistics with Yamato. It might be influenced ( greatly? ) by teams, but 2 victories in 23 games is just looking out of place.

    Happy Day or Sad Day

Dine, just because of what MaxxyNL said right there, sunshine and it's not even windy
  17. Baron_Von_Flakmeister, while I truly appreciate the info seeing as it is a PT ( Public Test ) and there is no NDA can you please provide source for your info. It makes it easier to verify and well it's just common decency. Your 'source' doesn't have NDA since it's PT as I already said, so why not just mention him?
  18. Can you link source when providing news please
  19. You are playing IJN cruisers mainly, and have < 300 battles in cruisers in general. You have 24 battles in a battleship, 0 games in a carrier and 100 games in a destroyer. You really think you got the whole game already figured out with that many games? I haven't figured it out, I need at least hundreds of battles more and with future changes and additions that number will only grow. Fwiw, USN cruisers are better BB escorts, and with escorts I mean that they can be in the correct spot to intercept enemy planes and dd's, but then again I think Senjo has better AA then Des Moines ( so has the Baltimore though ). I think it's fun to help my battleships, though it is frustrating when you don't have battleships which move up with you but instead decide to snipe from the back. Those guys I don't like, but not the role. If I have good BB captain who knows when to push and when not to, that's where the fun is. To make that happen more often, play in division.. only thing wg has to fix is making divisions spawn together instead of spread across the map... If you don't division, use chat at the start of a game and communicate with the ship you want to work with, and keep communicating if needed and possible ( about when to turn to another heading for instance ) and bind a key so you can highlight enemy targets as focus fire is essential. Remember this is a team game, not a free for all. Off course, you can have fun by yolo play, or by the 'I support from behind, farming some dmg before getting focused because I have allies in front of me taking the hits for me', or what ever your way of playing actually is as I have no idea. What is your idea of fun play with a cruiser? ps. please read shepbur's post again and quit using stuff which isn't sourced as 'reference'.

I guess you're either being sarcastic or you didn't read the thread properly.

    WoWs Q&A

Did the old Benson have the same turret traverse and gun range? Those are the stats which make Sims stand out the most, longer range on her 127's then the Gearing. Edit: just trying to be clear and I'm not sober so it's hard bear with me: I'm pointing this out not to claim it's OP, but to point out that even having a stat which is better then you think it should be, doesn't make it OP right away. The extra gun range is nice, but how often can you profit from it? The extra speed, how useful is it in game really? Will you dodge more because your rudder turns a bit faster and you bleed less speed? And then, well for me at least, is the extra gun on the Mahan worth it over the benefits of the Sims? I am saying yes atm.
  22. I had one > 200k dmg game ( which was a draw ).. I didn't even think the dmg was acceptable, I thought I was the worst Yamato captain on the server I don't think of myself as a passive player with bb's, but I do fall back if I see my cruisers backing off and such. Maybe I am to passive, but if I push a flank and get focused alone then I loose turrets and then die.. maybe after next patch I will feel better about being the spearhead. Edit: lol just tried checking my profile, but it tells me I only had 1 battle in her still :/

    Aiming MOD Exposed!

Ssshhh don't use reason and common sense, don't you know this is the aimbot thread? /sarcasm Very true, but then again most people wouldn't place their shots based on my engine settings and direction, it was pretty clear he was clicking on the red X.
  24. 63%... in my first 10 battles in Yammy I won one.. not sure now, afraid to check stats atm
