    Cleveland forces you into a certain role, especially with current HE + fire mechanism you're only really expected to HE spam everything to death. With Aoba you can be more flexible and play the ship in a way which suits your play style?

    Yeah I mentioned blowing up the turret because that is usually how I notice I detonated a magazine, in the heat of battle missing a floating text is easy ( and the sounds are unreliable, sometimes they are missing sometimes they don't seem to match at all ). It does a butt load of hp damage, still if you hit the ship at the exact same spot you should still do some HP damage ( since HP ~ structural integrity and even a blown up magazine would leave enough steel in place for a shell to detonate ( fuse ). If there wasn't enough steel/structure left, the ship would break in two. Anyway my German is bad, I don't think it's useful for me to read a German support ticket but maybe others can. As I said this is the first time I hear this is a design choice and as such I think it's interesting to know more about it.

    Wait, you're calling the Cleveland paper and you have no issues with them in an Aoba Cleve is hard to citadel, Aobo is a floating citadel, I had fun in Aoba though that's not the question but saying the Cleve is paper without saying the Aobo is even more paper is kind confusing me ;)

    I saw this on the NOS web page ( Dutch news service ) but I can't rip images from it ( or well right click didn't work and I was to lazy to use dev tools ). It was a student with instructor, the student ( a Grill non the less ) thought the motorcade had passed completely and the tank driver was unable to stop in time. The car was total loss off course, luckily it only crushed the engine compartment and the two people were not injured. Think I would have had brown stains on my car seat if I was in that car though edit: link with pictures -> http://nos.nl/artikel/2039065-tank-rijdt-over-auto-heen.html edit2: seems the story changed from when I first read it ( damn Reuters ), it wasn't a student with instructor just a Grill behind the wheel of a VW against a tank ( Leopard? ). Edit3: Ok I thought quit being lazy you damn Martian and get a working image link ;)

    This is the first time I hear that 0 dmg hits can be because a compartment of the ship has already been destroyed.. Can someone who knows about this comment on it please? It makes sense that if you pen a magazine and it detonates ( destroying the turret above it ) you won't do the same damage the next time you hit it. But it should still do some damage, even if the magazine is already taken out you can do more structural damage to the ship?

    How about not hunting the last ship but capping in time? All part of tactics to win a game, if a single DD is luring a bunch of cruisers into a pursuit while they could have capped, the DD deserved the draw.
  8. Lead is easier then elevation, I been saying that since the start as well Guess that's because of the aiming 'help' WG built in ( tracking of focused ship with X ). But, other then St Louis, DD's have very high rof as well and USN DD's are a great gun platform. edit: Which ship? There been some talk about the USN BB's having 'bugged' aiming.

    I guess for me personally I try because I feel that if people don't and the first page of this forum get's filled with all those threads without people speaking up against the notions mentioned in them, they will start to believe it's exactly as those threads say it is. An avalanche can start with a single snowflake, I don't want that avalanche on this forum ;) Your post is a good enough example btw, I'm not saying one should respond and enter a debate with everyone shouting "XYZ OP, pls nerf hard". Saying it like it is, as you did, is enough for non brain damaged people to start thinking for themselves and not automatically assume the OP is right

  11. She is slow but she has lots of guns and is hard to citadel so when in range she is a beast. It can be quite boring if you get a good team which steamrolls the enemy while you're tying to catch up and get some damage in.

    Part 2 is not true, server side spotting, penetration, dmg roll calculations do not prevent a new aim mod. All what is needed for an aim mod is ship location and speed, and that is known by the client itself since it has to render the models. With the locking of script access, it's hard to do but not impossible. Gladly no one has made a new aimbot so far but I would not go as far as saying it's 100% impossible. Also, 'delivered by the server' could you clarify? Sounds a little of the mark depending on how you meant it ;)

    suggestion: Turret destruction

    In all my DD games ( well 184.. not that many ) I think I had my launchers destroyed ( irreparable ) only once. But I like the proposal, just time limit to get operational again. Could even make the repairs last longer each time as the turrets sustained more damage and the repair crews are influenced by loss of men, fatigue and material shortages.

    Torps wouldn't be that bothered by weather as long as their running depth is below the trough between waves, gun's on the other hand... well tbh atm even pitch and yaw when turning doesn't seem to influence accuracy ;)
  15. The counter of a smoke screen is pretty simple: common sense. In a BB, your counter is your rudder -> GTFO stupid! In a DD, your counter is your own smoke, or just going balls deep and go get that pesky enemy destroyer! In a CA/CL, common sense -> don't push when you know he's loaded, if he's not loaded then push him out off his smoke if you're close enough if not launch scout and use brain with plotting a course! In a CV, co... wait I don't play CV's so I wouldn't know first hand but when I'm the DD in smoke and the enemy carrier is not stupid he sends planes to spot me! Did this really need this long a discussion

    I play USN DD's ( And Gremy.. ) so I got no notion of torpedo's being OP to start with, didn't need to convince me ;)

    Best thing you can do as a BB player, play DD's and learn their torp and detection ranges then it's almost never a surprise when you get torps send your way... I say almost, as I'm not that good so I tend to forget which one's have the 15km and which have 10km range

  22. I just met Aerroon in his tier X monstrosity, I was in Yammy. He died before attacking me thank god, my platoon mate took the brunt I think.. Also met Tuccy, he dodged my torps but again my stronk pletun mate Mr_Greek saved the day and killed him

    It was a comparison with another WG title, not much more but that wasn't clear to you 20m is enough, the extra 5 minutes would be wasted because people would stall more. The reason you get draws is because either a> (often) you get team's which play to defensively b> (at times) you get evenly matched teams. The one which occurs more often is not solved with 5 more minutes I think. I might be wrong though..

    wsciekly_pelikan, can you tell me how WG should sort the matches? I don't see a reason why they should be sorted, they already have categories. But maybe you know something I don't? Alright enough OP bashing, it was funny while it lasted but it was a spelling error and we're not the grammar police here now are we @OP if your battles are consistently to short, stop dying first! If you don't die first, you matches will last considerably longer! Also, 20 minutes is quite a large lump of time. My average game in WoT is like 6 minutes I think, in WoWs it's > 12m.
