I agree, mid tiers should not favour auto drop when at higher tiers you should use manual, but I don't know how to balance carriers so average players can have an impact on the game but very good players can't just dominate each and every game their in. Skill should be rewarded, but there has to a skill cap in order to maintain balance. Like I said, it can't really be judged ( top tiers ) until the trees are released and only then it can be tuned down to match server population/players. It also very hard to debate balance when WG isn't providing us with averages for each ship ( per patch off course or it would be useless ).

They actually had armed trains, even Schwerer Gustav could be in the game. Btw your image doesn't work so you might have already used Gustav as example in your post idk.. ;) My proposal would be World of Army ants -> RTS where you control your own specie of army ants, and go on raids to secure food and territory. You have a single queen which you must protect and use to breed millions of worker and soldier ants in order to make your bivouac and protect the queen and her eggs. When you have enough ants, you can start raiding wasp nests and eventually other colonies. If you make alliances, you can combine the force of your colonies and have an army capable of dominating the world ( of ants.. )!

I am fairly certain the number 19 has been mentioned a couple of times, so my gut is saying 19 points is maximum. edit: Think you hit the limit, 19 points

Lol adding more broken things to the game since there are already broken things in the game doesn't sound very well in my book But if they do, I can't stop them, I just think that in Alpha they had manual control and it was removed because it was broken. It could be tweaked perhaps by lowering spotting ranges of the scouts, making them more vulnerable to AAA and less active time

Well planes can spot my destroyer before I can spot them, I often get the situational awareness going off without being able to see the plane which spotted me. This is usually fighters at the start of a match, I don't think I ever seen it happen with dive bombers which should have the second longest detection range?
-
P is the first button I hit when my game starts in my Benson ( which I'm grinding atm ), and I only turn it on when I'm already spotted and when my AA can assist other ships ( I even killed some planes that way.. it's not like it's totally useless but still ). And yes, manual control over scout planes would kill destroyers, scout planes have the most detection range, they can see over islands and a smoke screen will be useless if they can direct a scout plane so it will spot behind the screen. Sitting still in your smoke screen isn't always the best tactic, I use smoke to escape pretty often and for that I lay smoke to break LOS. And that will no longer be viable when you have manual control over how a scout plane flies.

Destroyers are the highest skill class in the game, if you consider any single engagement. I can see how carrier captains would think their ships are more demanding, as unlike in a destroyers they are monitoring the whole map ( for offensive and defensive counters ). If I play DD I am mostly interested in everything in say 15km, any further then that I am not in position to engage or be engaged from, so while I watch the minimap to look for opportunities / necessities, I'm no where as busy constantly as a carrier captain should be. But, destroyers have the highest risk - reward in the game. A carrier can lose his planes ( and he has some to spare ), a destroyer doesn't get a respawn. Ow and to the one using Shimakaze to claim all destroyers are like that, I think that person is the same one who said I was using the Airport as measurement for all IJN carriers ( which I wasn't, not even close ). That statement is a double edged sword, it applies to destroyers as well. @OP I am sorry for my sometimes hard to read posts, comes with being not neurotypical I assume ;) As to your points: I don't need to play carriers to know what happens on the receiving end, though I will pick up the IJN carriers after I finish Zao and Gearing grinds ( if CBT lasts that long ). If you mean Sharana, I do read his posts and I talk with him in game as well. I play in division with him at times as well. I don't see how that affects what I write though? If you want to be more specific, than quote me something I said so maybe if needed I can provide further context. Also, Sharana is not only player the tier 10, I seen him dominate with Essex as well so it's not just about the Airport. All in all, seeing how much avg dmg potential he lost, he is still performing very well in his carriers ( like yesterday ). Yes, it is possible for him to have a bad match now, but on average his damage is still up there and seeing as his is one of the better CV captains I would think it should be. But the previous average damage numbers pre last patch where too much. The problem however is in the balance between good CV captain and average CV captain. Average captain should be somewhat useful for his team, but at the same time good CV captain shouldn't be dominating games every time they press battle. And yes, CV captains have the advantage there, an equally good DD/BB/CA captain has far less influence on the battle as a whole to do how carriers work ( long range, burst damage, ability to use planes to spot destroyers, survivability ). As I said in many topics before, don't ask me for a solution, I don't have one. But I think the last patch was actually a good thing, if looking only at the top tiers. Sharana did point out that on low-mid tiers, auto drop is more effective than manual and that it was a bad thing, and I trust his judgement on the matter so I do hope something will be changed. But for the Essex and the Airport, please don't ask me to feel sorry for being able to do less damage per game as I am most definitely not

If you shoot at 3 km from a battleships side ( !!!! ) you will not miss. If you shoot at 3 km at a battleships front or rear, he can easily go through a gap. Nothing else to see in this thread I'm afraid, unless OP has a replay... Also, Sims is a gunboat, and a good one. It is a DD hunter, not a battleship hunter. Leave hunting battleships to destroyers with torpedo range > acquisition range, unless you can use an island or smoke to get within close range ( and to a side profile.. ).

Telia servers are also not just affecting one country, it was whole Scandinavian area which had issues ( again, not sure about the name here ). And I know the servers are not good but I had zero issues the last couple of days so if you say it's WG servers because we know their not 'good' then why doesn't it affect me ( to the same degree as it does you )? Logic dictates that it can't be WG servers directly unless every player is affected the same way. Ofc WG can set up priority rules for traffic entering their network but that would again show up with a pingplotter result. How difficult is it for people to follow the guide and give conclusive information? We need solid information to act on, there can be no solution if the problem isn't clearly identified.

I played with Sharana in division sometimes the past week or so, judging from his performance ( not only in tier X IJN but also in Essex ) CV's are perfectly playable ( he did say low - mid tiers are where the issues are atm, and since we didn't play that I got no feedback on it from him ). Funny thing though, everyone asking for CV's to be stronger is not really considering the new meta very well. I often sacrificed my cruiser to stay with his carrier and prevent enemy carrier from sinking him. His damage output far outweighed my contribution to the fight and as such it was the best way to damage enemy team by keeping him alive. And we were not alone, enemy team usually was doing the exact same thing, there even was a division where two enemy cruisers parked right at each side of their CV acting as torpedo bulkhead armor so Sharana couldn't hit their carrier. Tell me, if carriers are so weak ( Essex and Airport ), why would doing such a thing still be considered a good trade? They're not weak, and Midway will be a beast just like the Airport. Much else can't be said until both trees are fully implemented and available to everyone, then fine tuning balance can start for real.

If with buffing counter abilities you mean giving my destroyers way higher AAA so I can kill scouts in one pass, then yes. But we both know this won't happen

https://eu.wargaming.net/support/Knowledgebase/Article/View/73/30/how-do-i-create-a-pingplotter-report use: login.worldofwarships.eu All talk about lag/rubber banding/packet loss without this info is useless and won't have any influence whatsoever other than filling up this forum.

Nah Sharana didn't know the exact spotting ranges for all planes but in general scout planes > fighters > db > tb iirc but no actual numbers to go with it. I think it does answer which planes are hindered by obstacles the most ( think scouts can look over islands and such, but bombers can't ).
-
Sharana is able to sinks quite a lot of battleships with his CV, so yes they are the hard counter. You just ( finally ) need a skilled CV captain and not just someone who clicks on ships every couple of minutes.

I'm with Userext here, manual control over scouts would kill destroyers so nope shouldn't happen. The idea of having a scout's detection bonus being shown on the minimap would be nice but even then if a DD has cammo skill you will get whine threads about 'haxor dd was in spotting range but I didn't see him!@#@!!' ;)

I do remember, and as I said in that thread, you need to run pingplotter -> https://eu.wargaming.net/support/Knowledgebase/Article/View/73/30/how-do-i-create-a-pingplotter-report - use "login.worldofwarships.eu" It sounds like packet loss, and I know some people might have it, and at the same time, but concerning the internet isn't a point to point network you need to account for bottlenecks outside of WG servers. There was a lot of trouble in WoT for some time from Scandinavian countries iirc, and it was because of of a hub along the way to Germany ( Telia or something, can't remember ) and not the WG servers themselves. So no, just having connection issues doesn't mean it' s Wargaming which is at fault.

Jingles doesn't pilot a space ship irl either, yet he figures in Fractured Space

Well especially at 19km you should expect long shell travel times ( and arc ), it's only a 203 it doesn't have the muzzle velocity of a Yamato ( though not even sure, they still seem to fly faster than Des Moines ). It took me 30 battles to not dislike Ibuki, 30 more to start to notice this is the first cruiser which I actually feel competent in. I am a terrible Des Moines captain for the reasons you say Ibuki is bad, the arc and shell travel time. I also tend to play at longer ranges as I know I'm not that bad a shot, and the Des Moines is hard to get a good feeling for at long range due to the high rof messing with my accustomed feedback/adjustment loop. Off course, it's only my opinion but I heard from many others Ibuki is a sniper due to the really low dispersion. I got main battery 1, gun fire control 2, acceleration boost, damage repair 1, rudder boost and concealment iirc... might not have rudder boost though as I said not sure atm. Btw my highest dmg ever in Ibuki was 180k, it was glorious. I hit maybe 5 shots whole match until I got rushed by a Montana and his buddy in an Iowa. I lasted less than a Minute but the Montana ate a full broadside of torps at 3km range and died, then his Iowa buddy finished me off but I managed to launch the other side's launchers at him and killed him as well. ~170k torpedo damage. Use them torpedo's, 10km range if you use captain skills and concealment upgrade you can launch undetected ;)
-
I am sorry mate but you are wrong. The guns on Ibuki are much easier to hit with, they got way less arc for instance my Des Moines. I also got the range upgrades and can hit at max range though like all ships it's beter at a quarter or so less than max range ( which would be 14km ). At 19km I can hit BB's no problem, but cruisers are already a long shot. And I don't run from DD's either. I do admit it was a learning curve for sure, but atm Ibuki is my favourite anti ship cruiser ( DM for AA is the best ). 30k to the Zao, but Ibuki will not leave my port, it's a keeper! I will say it depends on the enemy, if he keeps dodging the lowish rof will hurt but if you can catch someone who is already engaged and not actively dodging your shells it's a nice beast. Also, compared with Baltimore this thing feels fast and nimble.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
mtm78 replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
I am seeing a pattern here, WG please nerf Alpha testers their to OP -
He isn't THAT bad now is he?

Circon's beard >> Jingles beard

In mogami I lost a turret quite frequently, Ibuki has much more resilient turrets is my experience. Think I lost one perhaps 5 times, which isn't a lot. So might be slower due to more weight/armor, seems it would fit my experiences

As linked earlier in the thread, pingplotter or nothing can and will be done.
