Day 11 I've been contemplating watching the Yubari in twitch, so I could learn his location, but I decided my honor was much more important. So I been anchored behind this island for two days, it's actually quite idyllic with the wildlife and fauna on the vulcano. The local's are also friendly, and with the crew being on edge all the time since the war started it was good for them to get some r&r while in port. We're still on high alert but those who can be spared are dipping their dippers in the locals, I am quite sure we'll have a little baby boom in nine months. The Omaha has sent a distress signal over the radio, apparently they are running low on ammo. It might be a hoax, it was on the wrong channel, maybe they are luring the enemy into an assault. Maybe it was true though and the fact that the ship's crew being sea-scouts drafted into the war while on their summer camp is really showing. It's a good sign they actually have a kill, means they can aim! That it was a friendly Phoenix they sank is just a minor detail. In chat the Yubari said he has 200 subs already, and about 2.5k viewers on any given time, I really need more income so I will start streaming tonight. To be honest, drawing this game out for a long time might be beneficial for my economical situation after all. I also got a new girlfriend, well ok we're just penpals as of now as I'm still in this war but I'm convinced this is the one. She is from Uganda and was impressed with my ability to read and write her language. Seriously, WoWs is good for my social life, thank god they didn't put silly battle timers in their game.

No such issues here. Can you post your system specs when mentioning your frame rate issues please? Or attach a dxdiag output file? Or/and contact support with the above information. -

A message directed to WG about 0.4.1 and Mods... is this really true?
mtm78 replied to Tsukotaku's topic in General Discussion
It is hard but it's possible I done it before. For WoT it is easier to use WoT-Transmission as you can make real time edits ( it's a tool you can download through xvm forums ). But this is indeed a tricky part. You can't expect them to provide a full client ( maintained and all) just for modders to test python scripts, can you? I'm not expecting it tbh. I was thinking we should get a well documented mod API for which one could make an emulator so you can test event handling. Other then that, you should be able to unit test your scripts without a fully functional client. Maybe we can get a replay player which can use additional unencrypted scripts, I've debugged by using replays and some additional logging in problematic functions and that's perfectly workable. Since that is a separate executable able to use unencrypted scripts there is no risk in distributing it, and it would allow debugging of scripts. If it would work like WoT-Transmission but only with replays it would be even better, then you have your fully working client and real time console level access without risking people pulling it apart to be able to unpack - modify - repack game assets. -

You're trying to make friends here I see, or are you.. -
The community in WoT is basically in full acceptance of cheats and undesired mods being a reality in the game, which can only support the toxic behavior we see so often. People who 'know' there are a lot of other players who use cheats are less socially inclined to be civil. If I get sunk in WoWs now, by a BB doing a triple citadel at 20km+ on my CA while dodging, I congratulate him pretty often on the salvo. When the lead indicator was freely available, I didn't. I didn't feel like complimenting someone who was arguably just as likely if not more than likely to be using a 'crutch', I don't think I'm really different in this then most others. and if I didn't, WG taking a new approach in this game regarding how to deal with the modding aspect can only be positive.

The toolkit has to provide access to unlocked game content ( textures and swf ), after mods are reviewed and approved the people at WG responsible for this process have to convert the mods to formats used by the client. It's a legit concern, I was hoping a toolkit could be used which would do this automatically but such a toolkit would be abused. On top of this toolkit, WG allowing python scripts to access the game through a new mod interface would ensure that mods which require python can be made, without the risk that they have access to all of the internal scripting engine. -

The 76 fps is an artificial limit, you can change it by editing xml file.

I own Murmansk and Greg, I won't argue their not good I considered buying Atlanta but didn't, got Atago instead. Atago stronk as well, and it's not Ruskie
-
Omaha has same guns and with last hull in 4.1 will have same range ( but equal number of guns to Murmansk, in addition to having more AAA just like uhm.. Murmansk In short, Omaha will have option to trade guns for AAA and range just like Murmansk.

Reinstall wouldn't work, it's server side. Usually the daily server restarts would fix this.. not sure why it hasn't for OP. OP, did you contact support?

Any news on when the skillships will be nerfed? (CVs)

KptStryzga isn't ST sorry Btw who uses torrents for pr0n.. -
I was actually playing Murmansk yesterday and had two squads of planes passing over me from a tier IV CV and I shot down 1 plane ( with ctrl+focus fire ). For a CL which is described as the best AAA platform on it's tier ( which it was before 4.1 since Omaha with last hull will basically be Murmansk ), it perhaps also would benefit from an AAA consumable

I've said this multiple times before, maybe not all in one post but in subsequent one's and maybe worded differently but the essence remained the same. It's a shame a lot of communication on this forum is obscured and hard to find through all the less constructive postings ( and I must admit, I'm not entirely without fault as I to respond to posts I should just ignore ), but that's the way of the internet I guess. Modding tools are needed to get source files ( flash ) to mod for small textures included in the swf's, to convert packed textures to a workable format for modders and to convert modded textures into a format used by the game client ( if they will block texture modding, something which imo isn't needed ). Or, since the first would introduce a security risk as such tools can be analyzed and used to decrypt normal client files for malicious means, the mod tools would come with access to the original game files in plain format without encryption, and only if modifications made have gone through the approval process the 'WG mod crew' will convert those files into formats used by the client when adding the mods to the officially allowed mods. Mods like the hitlog I want to port to WoWs need access to information currently available through the internal python scripts. But having access to those is bad, look at WoT to see why, so I am hoping we will have access to the functions/events/properties we need for mods but that this access is granted through an additional api layer which regulates what information mods have access to. For instance, in WoT the internal script engine has events for destructible assets being destroyed ( trees/fences and so on ), which a mod makes visible on the minimap ( which is a banned mod btw ). What I would like is for WG to allow mods to access part of the internal scripts through an additional layer which will only expose that what is deemed needed for mods to work, and block off everything else. This will be a time consuming process I am sure, as even some functions in the hitlog for WoT would be problematic ( we can see who shot you, with what gun, with what ammo, if you have a rammer and/or vents installed and so on ). But I have faith it could be done, I am sure it can be done, all we have to hope for is that WG agrees with this vision and is willing to facilitate it. -

CBT stats... Yes I never had a Yamato -
Having voice coms in a division is pretty handy though, not so much if you play with the same people a lot as you know what the other will be doing but with new people and while trying to learn to play the game communication is essential during the game. So I also recommend the ts server, just that if you care less about voice coms or don't have a headset for some reason, the Forumites channel is a good place to go as well.

mtm78 replied to Tsukotaku's topic in General Discussion
True, but I been told to hang in there for now and that more information is coming as soon as it's available. Sorry, can't change that even if I want to know how/what/when just like everyone else. I am hoping for an official modding toolkit, with a new individual mod api layer above the existing in game python script engine. It's a lot to hope for, and I do fear I won't get what I want, but as long as it's up in the air how exactly WG will approach the modding aspect in the future, it's to early to complain about it since we don't know anything substantial. All we can and should do is make very clear we want to be able to make mods, we want to have sufficient tools to make them and that we want clear rules on what will be allowed and what won't be allowed, as well as having clear communication as modders with the people who will be offering/maintaining the tool kit and approving the mods. That's what I been trying to do, and I think it's also the most efficient approach to the entire situation. -
There is also a in game channel called Forumites, people there are decent people and like to division up as well. Password for the channel is 'play4fun'

What makes you think Aslain has access to more mods then WG would have ( mods which would be allowed to be in an official pack anyway )? I am not saying WG should develop mods ( just as Aslains doesn't ) but they surely can not include his modpack ( there have been quite dubious entries in it which wouldn't pass scrutiny anyway ) and certainly should not pay him for it ( unless he distributed almost all of it back to the original mod authors... ). WG should make an official modpack with installer, or even better just have the mods all available through an in game menu ( downloaded on demand from WG controlled servers ).

I don't worry, you can't give quotes of things which haven't been said so it's just a bit sad to read and realize so many people have such personal issues they have to resort to lies and insinuations to make up for them. -
It is not HIS mod pack, he makes an installer, you can not keep crediting him for the content, only the installer. And he's gotten plenty of +1's from me for what he does, but please stop phrasing it as you did ( yes i read the last sentence but still.... ). OMC installer for WoT is just as good if not better, and there are more. Aslain does a great job, but I am sure WG can do it without his help. Edit: what I am trying to say with mentioning OMC modpack is this: OMC has a whole team dedicated to their modpack, Aslain does everything on his own ( afaik ). This alone should indicate: a> Aslain is putting a lot off effort in his installer and deserves every ounce of credit for doing so, but he is still a one man show b> having multiple people on something increases the amount of mods which can be included ( and checked ) and maintaining the client/server architecture for the installer is easier / faster. I like Aslain, been using his installer for WoWs for some time and he is responsive and friendly in his threads. That there been some mods which are questionable is also not his responsibility, but does indicate what the benefits of an WG controlled modpack would be.

What ammo should a DD be using against another DD?
mtm78 replied to _x_Acheron_x_'s topic in General Discussion
Guns on IJN DD are buffed on PT ( rof/traverse ). USN DD's are commonly considered gunboats until higher tiers where they get torpedo's which don't require suicide runs. You are correct however on IJN DD's and in hindsight I shouldn't have been so dismissive, wish you had added to your original post you where only considering IJN dd's. Greg is representative of what is coming with other nations DD's, higher caliber guns ( GER I think had 140mm on some DD's for instance ) which pack a punch. -
