Two sides of the same coin: I'm here for a good time, screw the people who can't play and ruin the enjoyment of 11 other people on their team just because they want to pew pew. Stats don't contribute to toxicity, stats is a measurement of how people perform. It's this performance which contributes to toxicity and in any team based game this plays a part.

Play low tier ships for silver grinding, and if that's not enough for you and you can't fork out enough money on a Murmansk or something, well can't say I sympathize much as WG is not a philanthropy and needs to make money somehow. So if you're not good enough to grind in a non prem, and too poor to pay for a premium, you just want the developers to work for free?

Both then, damage potential on top 1% is exponentially more than average player which means it has a high skill ceiling. High skill floor as well I admit -
K/D with average damage depending on ship class ( CL going after DD will have less damage but higher kill counts as is to be expected, while a BB with high K/D but low average damage is a back camper who deals his damage late game to very low hp targets ) is a good indicator of how well a person is tactically ( as in engagement wise ). But I know plenty of people with 10% less win rate and higher average damage on some specific ships, so the third measurement should be win rate. High win rate, k/d and average damage = good player. Any of those low(er), there is something that person isn't doing 'right'.

It means that a> they are the all round classes in which everyone can get good results b> they are easier to learn c> people who can't play BB's effectively can still play CA/CL. They want a team composition where most ships in a battle are CA/CL, 2 max CV, 2-4 BB's and some DD's. Those are ideal fleet compositions, a group of cruisers can wreck a single BB with concentrated fire, but a BB can citadel those CA/CL's and erase them quickly if he's really good. And really good people ( don't look at Figment, he was just 'lucky' ) erase CA/CL pretty frequently in a BB. BB is not weak, BB is very strong but it also has the highest skill ceiling as a class. -
Only true if you're a DD but even there this game is about distance foremost and not terrain features. If you want to keep distance, move parallel but don't sit still. The reason I quote you is because I had you in a game and I thought you were not playing very well, you seemed to be trying to hide behind an island in your cleveland while shooting over it at spotted ships by your allies. That isn't how you play Cleveland, and when I checked if it was really you I understood. Your survival rate is really terrible, this happens mostly when people don't use distance as main rule in engagements. Use distance to your advantage, be at a range where you have higher effective dps than your opponent, and don't give away your citadel ( read: angle your sheep! ). Using terrain is a last resort

With captain skill and equipment the range goes to 10km for the top ships, you don't think that's long enough? Low tier BB's have short range secondaries, but that is a balancing stat. You can't have longer range secondaries against those tier CA/CL/DD's it would break the balance. From the last posted Q&A I read ( thx Sharana ) WG intends lower tier BB's to feel a bit weak. BB's are not the main class, CA/CL is. In mid tier, BB's start to feel better and a Yamato/Montana with a captain who can use it properly is a force to be reckoned with. But BB's are very hard to play effectively, much harder than CA/CL, and WG has intended that from the start. If you can't play a BB well, take a CA/CL as they are much more forgiving. -

Wasn't always the case, their accuracy in very early alpha was comparable to the same armaments on smaller ships ( so secondary 155's would be as accurate as an Omaha ). But, that didn't really work out, wasn't fun for DD's and people were getting rewarded for 'free' automatic damage without user input. I'm glad secondaries are toned down since we only manually control the primary's that needs to be the main origin of damage. -

Sharana posted a Q&A today or yesterday, in it WG said that win rate is the most important metric to balance ships. Damage is less important since you can deal damage from the back and have high averages, as long as you're not completing the objectives you're not winning games. And K/D is meaningless when not combined with average damage ( for player skill ) since finishing off low hp targets != skill.

If you didn't do a binary compare before replacing the corrupted dll I will say it's hard to believe. When you load a dll file it's not opened with enough permissions to allow writing to the file, you're not even ever really opening it just calling it's functions and methods.

I made that edit to enable replays once many many patches ago, it isn't affected by client patches. And as I said, they will in time add it to the ingame options for sure, it's just very low priority.

Very true, and like with WoT it can't work any other way. The replay is a recording off timestamps, and object location and properties, it doesn't contain the models or textures of assets nor does it contain the map data. Playing back old replays on changed maps in WoT can give some pretty funky looking stuff

I would like this as well, would be nice to hear the reaction of those people complaining about others and then seeing in the team list they actually did worse then the people they were raving about in chat during the game. But tbh if you want tactical value, you would need a loading screen showing ship spawn positions and a chat so you can coordinate before the match starts instead of after the battle has ended. The 30s loading time in battle is useless for this mostly since a lot of people are still loading in quite late ( judging from the afk people the first minute in almost every battle ). -
Game is still in beta, I'm sure it's not going to be forgotten

Practise, the guns are actually not bad at all but it takes getting used to. If I play Yubari for couple of games in a row my aiming in it is considerably better than with the odd game in between. Same goes for other ships, I sucked hard with Aoba because it was the first ship with workable 203's, now I got Myoko which has the same gun's basically just more and longer range and because I'm now quite used to them I can hit pretty well ( to the point of being accused of using an aimbot, like yesterday by some big slow BB captain thinking it needed to be hax I could reliably hit his slow fat BB from +-15km ). In CBT the AAA worked better though, have had clear sky award with it I can remember, last game I played in Yubari I had two squadrons fly right over me with ctr-lclick focus on I killed ONE plane. This AAA consumable wouldn't be needed if the AAA was as effective as in CBT, and with 1 reload it's a bit of a gimmick. With more reloads it would become broken though, given that planes are really slow at those tiers if you had reloads you could panic them on each attack on the capital ship you are providing cover for.

There is already an 'official' RU modpack, and that hasn't been monetized. It can't be monetized, as WG does not own the mods themselves, so this concern is imho as far from plausible as it can be.
