    Question about premiums in this game

    I was about to say hell no it ain't, and post a ss of me with 490k or something, but then I realised this was CBT with higher income
  2. 2 fires do more damage then 1 flooding, 1 fire does less. But fires stack, and flooding does not ( any more ). I wish stacked flooding would come back, would make my UP torpedo's more useful at higher tiers.

    New Aim Mod (No, realy, this one is new)

    In addition, while I said that luckily I was spared any toxic chats because of this new aimbot I can no longer make that claim. Yesterday 3 battles in a row filled with people accusing others of cheating, name calling, insults. Even the players which don't turn toxic are just being drowned in the noise this cheat is creating.

    German cruisers vs other nations cruisers

    It's not only in awkward place, compared it with any IJN citadel and it's also tiny, so even if you know dispersion does play a rather larger role. And my comment was aimed to VonPletz, if you make the same claim it sounds a lot more like you're a really good player which is statistically proven if you look at some of the leaderboards If he claims it, he sounds like someone trying to come across a lot better than he really is, since he looks mediocre and Cleveland is widely accepted as the most difficult to citadel CA.

    VaC alone makes no sense if you don't address how mods are implemented.

    [12.6.0] Aslain's WoWS ModPack Installer

    Mine are edited by the guy I got them from and he's offline so I can't ask if it's ok to share. I tried to find the original on RU forum but I can't ( because my RU-FU is weak ). I've sent him a pm asking to post the link here or pm it to Aslain.
  9. A lot could be sorted with an ignore list ( and options to automatically ignore anyone who spams the same command more than x times ).

    Cruisers are outrageously unbalanced

    I totally depends on player skill off course, there are people who will be able to land consistently on longer distances ( but because of skill distribution, I personally use 13km as pivot point to gtfo if possible and to stop trying to get all guns on a BB because I don't want to expose too much of a target ). Maybe I am spoiled with not meeting the better BB captains most of the time o7 ^^

    New Aim Mod (No, realy, this one is new)

    I haven't really noticed much difference this time as opposed to the last time. Might be because this mod is causing less uproar here because of the faster reaction times from WG employees ( kudo's for that, we/community needed reassurement of how high on the priority list this really is ). The fact that it's shown this issue is not being addressed as individual incidents shows there is a commitment in making changes everyone will benefit from ( I hope ). The biggest change for me is that there isn't any constant cheat accusations in public chat, in fact besides Sharana telling me I didn't see any in the past days. For me, the environment I play in is more influential than having an enemy who hits more with higher consistency than normal, this can happen if I meet an actual good player as well. Even in the disclaimer/readme of the mod the author states the mod will not give people a vastly higher hit ratio, so getting hit by a cheater should in most cases not even be noticeable. I promised I would say something about a mod interface, why I think it would benefit everyone: developers, modders and players. First one has to describe the current situation: BigWorld engine as used in WoT and previously WoWs ( not familiar with the other titles, sorry ) was totally open to modders. With this I mean that the internal scripting engine of the game, which controls/interacts with the UI elements was exposed so modders can use it to create alternative content for those games. WoT started pretty barren, the interface we have now in vanilla has multiple features which are direct copies from popular mods. This has made WoT a better game, and WG knows that modding has a lot of benefits for both them as a company and the players of their games. So, why am I not happy with this situation, it's clearly beneficial for everyone? It is a reasonable solution, when you don't have resources to devote to making it better. Clearly, people expect these resources to be available considering the company WG is making 'enough' profit ( to go to the moon well that's the talk anyway ;) ). It can be 'better', because having access to this internal scripting engine makes it possible to have mods for WoT which show destruction of objects on the minimap to name one clear example why having access to the entire internal scripting engine is a bad thing. The fact that python access was locked for WoWs shows this even more clearly. The python engine knows about the state of the entire client, it needs to because it handles an important part of displaying what we see on our screen. So now there is an aim mod which is based on flash, and without having looked at it I am making a guess it is using coordinates it's getting which are used to draw UI elements ( target markers for ships ) which you can not prevent as that is the job of flash assets in the BW engine hierarchie. WG can keep running after every modification they come across, which will keep consuming resources throughout the lifetime of BW titles creating a more toxic atmosphere in their games which costs them players. Or they can be pro-active, and expand the BigWorld engine with a purpose built mod api which act as separation from the internal engine and which can regulate and facilitate to mod builders regardless. Since BigWorld engine is also commercially licensed to other companies, it should earn itself back even more quickly. Who develops this, people behind WG central or WoWs, to me is not even relevant as a player, I just know it's possible. This mod api could give modders access to existing WG flash elements and modify content based on restricted access to data from the internal engine ( WG would have to work with the mod community, providing a well documented api and listening to feedback ). Additionally, a distribution channel with mods accessible through an official WG portal/application, and an easy way to add and remove modifications, will add popularity to their games both with modders and mod users. This is not a new or novel idea, there are current games which are free but which make money from 3rd party content which is sold through a central marketplace. This is all just my opinion, and maybe even a bit of a 'hope' because I like playing the game and I think this will be really beneficial for the game and the people behind it ensuring I can probably keep playing this game for a very long time to come

    Battleships = death trap

    I don't think talking about it is going to help any more, decide if you want to improve and become a better player step by step or not. If you do, try to find some good battleship player and get in division with him while on the public teamspeak server so he can explain what he is doing and give you tips on how to approach situations. At one point in WoT I had 45% or 46% wr and only barely yellow wn8. Because I choose to 'play4fun' and ignore everyone I could do so much better 'if I just...'. And why? Well because I didn't recognize myself in being that bad, I even tried the 'teams suck, it's not me' excuse for awhile. Then I met Garbad in some thread and he said I was a baddie and would never be able to get green let alone blue. So I choose to [edited]being a baddie, learned from people who could actually play the game decently, and now I'm 50% wr and 15xx wn8 which is more acceptable. Do you think I would have 60% win rate in this game if I had not listened to people who can actually play better to me on how to obtain likewise results? I had to learn a lot, and unlearn a lot to, and I'm still imo not a good player compared with many others. That is what drives people to become better at something, realizing they can get better and finding no excuse to not get better. Are you good? No, not in particular. Can you get better? I am sure you can. Do you have an excuse to not get better? The last one I can't answer, can you?

    Battleships = death trap

    But the difference is, people who are telling you this can actually apply it in the game, they are good players. You, are a bad player. Those are the facts, and I tried to explain that to you before. If you choose to ignore everyone trying to help you improve, insisting on that the game needs no skill, well I wish you good luck and I hope we meet in game a lot ( with you not on my team please ).

    Cruisers are outrageously unbalanced

    Most of the times BB's won't out damage me around 17km in Mogami ( 155's with captain skill and equipment, 18km range ), for the single reason that I am agile enough to dodge most if not all his return fire ( rng/dispersion at those ranges make it a lottery even if I wouldn't turn, but CA's dispersion is much less than BB's so at max CA engagement range, the CA has the upper hand ). BB optimum range is ~13km or less, most people will reliably citadel CA's at that distance, and because the shells are underway much shorter ( ballistic trajectory changes a lot between 13 and 17km ) you can't make as effective evasive maneuvers.

    New Aim Mod (No, realy, this one is new)

    No you can really tell the difference, two days ago was with Sharana in division and he ended up on blue line and two people on enemy team kept shooting the marker ( and thus missing by MILES ). That's the most obvious tell tale, seeing how people constantly predict your path correctly were it not for you changing speeds is another ( but this one can be skill if you have someone who is really good at gauging your current speed and acceleration ). But about that first salvo hit ratio, it's certainly possible with Cleveland if you're shooting something which doesn't change course or speed ( and preferably being big, like a fat BB ). The issue is when a target starts to zig zag and your shell speed is so low you're constantly behind the facts and over correcting.

    In effect atm you're right, there is nothing WG can do as it's a local mod. On the other hand, would you not care if people through a mod have access to things you don't want people to have access to yet?

    Battleships = death trap

    Hamburg_1, what people are trying to tell you is that playing BB is all about planning ahead and situational awareness needed to plan ahead. You can't react to changes in a BB unless you stick to the middle of the map at start, that is one, you can react to engagements with other fleets ( read: fleets != enemy CA's ) so you need to plan so you will have your guns in the right direction and have a target in your gun range and los, without being a target for multiple enemy ships at the same if possible and if not, angle your hull towards the enemies which are most likely to do the most damage to you. Manage your repair party and hp recovery, don't activate a repair for one fire for instance. BB's are quite easy to play, but very very tough to play well. I would ask Sharana for some tips, or Mister_Greek or someone else who consistently does good with battleships, maybe ask some people to division with you. If you say you want to improve there are plenty of people willing to help.

    New Aim Mod (No, realy, this one is new)

    Did I really post I had hope? Well I did, still do. Remember guys, they admitted it was a quick patch to make it inoperable and a more permanent solution will be coming in the future. @Kodos, I'm off for work now but when I get back I'll make up on that promise

    Battleships = death trap

    Aahhh yeah there is no skill involved at all, which explains why there are people who do consistently better then you with any class they play right.... right? You obviously should look up Dunning-Kruger, it might open your mind to the distinct possibility Figment actually has a point when talking about your performance, and how silly it seems you're dismissing it claiming the whole game has no skill involved, There is nothing wrong with being bad at a game, it is very wrong to dismiss said facts and deny yourself the opportunity to improve yourself.

    New Aim Mod (No, realy, this one is new)

    Current speed and course is needed to draw the content of the minimap and ships on your screen, which have target markers which are flash based elements. They should imo make a mod friendly interface because imo it will make the game better. Just as having a more efficient way to authorize modifications, other than changing a single file now and again to mess up this or that mod. And not they can't mod fine without it, look at recent history proofs that, look at WoT proofs it even better. Not to mention the toxicity levels which increase from people who even suspect another of cheating, something which is perceptively easy to think in some situations like with the old python based aim mod which used the internal engine. Convinced I hope, if not let me know why it's not needed, might be easier to rebut that. edit: I apologize, my tone was pretty harsh I believe, and you presented me with a perfect opportunity to explain why a mod api would be beneficial both for WG, modders AND players ( the last not really influenced by the api, but certainly beneficial if WG adds a proper distribution option ). But I got the flue and I am in a bad mood ( head ache ), so my first reaction is grumpy and my second one isn't cohesive enough to make a well formated post. I will come back on this if you wish so later, tomorrow or when I feel better and have the time needed to properly formulate and describe what I mean so you can understand.
