Does anyone else find high tier cruiser matches not very fun?
mtm78 replied to _x_Acheron_x_'s topic in General Discussion
The biggest target for an 155 Mogami is BB's, usually DD's are smart enough to not come into effective range of one. A BB can't run, and you can hurt him from 18km, and if he shoots back at that range his hit ratio should be low enough to make the trade's favor you. -
Captain Retraining Is Too Hard (At 18+ points)

I got her in the light fleet package, but I was mainly excited because of the 'terror of the sky' line, looking forward to some skysweeper ribbons. I had plenty in CBT, but this was a 'good' game with the use of two AAA consumables and I still only got 10 planes. The gun performance hasn't really changed though, always been like this. But the AAA effectiveness has changed a lot, so yeah I agree with you. edit: I have to add that previously the AAA on Yubari was simply to strong. If you had two Yubari's on your team which knew what to do, enemy carrier has a short game ( lack of reserves at that tier ). So it kind of had to change.- 64 replies

Mogami is I think the best performing tier 8 CA ( lot's of competition! ). As people said, the key is distance and angles, don't come to close and don't go broadside to any battleship or you die, quickly. -
You lost money for shooting allied ships, well seem like it's working as intended Seriously, even pink doesn't mean friendly damage shouldn't be discouraged, this isn't WoT with a purple player which is open season. Any damage even against a pink ally is treated the same.

Best description is that it is a Kuma with smoke and better torps iirc...?

When making the ticket add a dxdiag file -> https://na.wargaming.net/support/Knowledgebase/Article/View/26/18/what-is-a-dxdiag-file--how-do-i-send-one There is an EU page but this one is top in google, make sure you make the ticket on the EU portal though

You're forgetting the fun of sinking cruisers with citadel hits ;)

Chat reaction is priceless, love to see these threads as opposed to the constant whine topics Everyone who contributed to that atmosphere should get a cookie, or two!
-
so WG, when will we get the "unified" accounts for all games
mtm78 replied to KLguns's topic in General Discussion
Tbh I did save his gif, that one was actually not that bad. Agreed on thread though, to bad us lowly forum goers have no veto right otherwise I would've veto'd a forum ban to go with it. If you are not going to play the game and instead just post bullcrap about it, I rather not be forced to read said bullcrap. -

Stop posting offensive images you dirty clicker you Did you show it to Mrs_Greek, we all know he loves seeing some nice carrier play. -
Like I just explained, it's a flat service fee. /thread
-
Flat service fee, you got to pay all those crewman some wages man or they will mutiny next game and you suddenly have sailors throwing you overboard with something heavy chained to your legs The first part of the sentence is btw 100% true and answers your question, the second part is just a pun ;)

mtm78 replied to Aerroon's topic in General Discussion
I will get tier 10 but I will use premiums for retraining and I have been for some time, I've unlocked Ibuki for some time now but I'm still grinding some credits and even after I buy her it will be a lot of games with Yubari/Atago before Ibuki will ever leave port. I can not imagine structurally paying to retrain, or playing at those tiers with a gimped or retraining captain. I admit I might be spoiled ( since statistically I am assuming this is what quite a lot of people do? ), but that's how I feel about captain skills in this game. They are way more influential than in WoT for instance. Does that mean I feel I wouldn't probably reach tier X on a line where I got no interest or existing premiums? Likely so. So thank god for Gremmy and Murmansk Arkansas Beta / Sims combination would probably pull me through any US line ( Sims works even without specific captain skills though AFT is pretty stronk ofc ) but I don't like either enough knowing how many games it will take to retrain high skill captains.- 64 replies

Actually, most wouldn't even think twice and just play the game being happy they won't get clicked on from the sky As long as the DD's are properly spread among teams. edit: 'Most' ofc entails all the players in the one team with a friendly carrier ;)

What use is a 3 skill captain on high tiers when you know all competitive enemies will be sporting captains with 10+ skills at least? edit: also before people totally overlook it: you keep all skills when using a captain on a premium vessel even while retraining that captain for a different vessel.- 64 replies

Well they sold like 20k Tirpitzes was the estimate gathered through first week active players with one, wouldn't call that an economical failure but that might be me? As to this thread, I haven't posted in it because I don't like the OP, it sounds too melodramatic. The topic is a relevant and actual one, but some of the posts here are laughable ( or cringe worthy, take your pick ). Give Ph3lan and MrConway some more time, hope that 3rd spot get's filled soon and things should start looking better. As to fundamental differences between NA and EU server, there ALWAYS been those even in WoT. It's because NA has a player base which is pampered to hell and back because it is small and WG did everything in their power to increase the popularity. Sadly, once people get accustomed to a certain level of 'generosity' they begin to expect, no demand it. But, I feel like a cheat knock off rehash straight to tv series, because all of this has already been said.

editing.. lol ok not a typical DD whine from someone who doesn't play them ( except from the 'hidden marker' which triggered my initial believe you're the typical DD whine boy; complaining about DD getting unfair MM if top tier without doing the same for BB's, CA's and CV's ). Still, it sounds a bit like DD whine because you left out all other classes which get large advantages from being top tier.

mtm78 replied to Aerroon's topic in General Discussion
There should be an option to retrain for silver while dropping a certain percentage like in WoT, but there isn't. I agree with OP that high tier captain retraining using current methods is just a moneygrab as no one who wants to use their top captain on a ship will be spending that much time with nerved abilities. edit: Mhm my Murmansk was well worth the money as is premium time I get using my WoT gold. Even Atago was not that bad a thing to spend some money on. It's not as bad as you make it out. Certainly because considering the captains, the majority of players will not be at the 18 point mark right now so WG has still some time to rethink the mechanism.- 64 replies

Are you proposing different servers for mod and vanilla players? If so, I don't think that will ever see the light off day, mainly because splitting server population forcefully doesn't seem that beneficial ( certainly not for WoWs atm ). Controlling the modding side of BigWorld and adding some memory mapping protection would go a long way to keep everyone happily on one server ( and has other benefits ).
-
In theory all applications can be 'modified', be it games or photoshop. That is indeed a fact. But Robocraft for instance, which is an Indie game, is able to utilise a 3rd party framework which seems to be quite popular ( EasyAntiCheat ) and which is quite effective. I can't find any current cheats for that game, there used to be quite a few. For one it protects memory values, and it seems a quite complete framework judging from the documentation. And that isn't even rehashing the security leaks with the current modding scheme. If you combine both, a theoretical "CAN'T" is something most of us will happily live with. If the new modding methodology / implementation isn't going to 'gimp the game', adding proper cheat protection isn't going to either.

edit: as above

Same here, but with my CA's mainly. With DD's, unless it's low tier IJN, there is no sense in going against too many fast ships without some support so I'll usually push ahead of lemming train and hope they don't slow down, then when momentum is guaranteed and the need arises --> speedy gonzales to defend our cap. Following a lemming train is usually not the best thing to do, unless you're not comfortable kiting enemy ships at max ranges.

No specific time designated on which my isp decides to crap on me, Dutchie btw though
