This actually isn't true, otherwise they would have buffed Omaha past Murmansk instead of pulling them equal. I was thinking about ranked battles where concealment while getting cap points is a big prequisite. For random game modes, I fully agree with you. I look forward to DD gameplay where they still rely on guns instead of torps ( my Greg captain is waiting for them ).

Tbh I think Atago is actually the better armored one, I bounced a lot more AP with a well angled Atago then a well angled Mogami. Otherwise, turret config favour Mogami but the main reason I kept the 155's is the range. And yes you can and will hit reliable at that range as well, as long as you got BB's to shoot at. edit: Soviet DD's will still get spotted before spotting other DD's if those also have the modules and skill, so ninja capping is not a good plan in SN DD's I think?

The sad thing is OP hasn't only bought an Atago, he also has a Pepsi. Judging from his performance, it looks like he will need a lot of games to keep advancing though so perhaps he will quit before tier X.

I was surprised when checking your DD's, you're the only one I know who does better in IJN DD's from tier 5 upwards ( Minekaze stats are meh for instance ). That btw supports your claim of being better then those stats would indicate. Anyway I didn't have my coffee either, so sorry that was a bit rude I guess. Btw the influence one has on wr has always been deemed higher by those with 'good' wr and less by those with 'lesser' ps. I might ask you to division once, I think you do better with high tier DD's then I do

I said a long time ago I could live without XVM in wows if we had a way to see how his ratio would be of being complimented for playing well vs reported for playing poorly. I don't need raw player stats, I rather have people's opinion of a player visible ( even if that requires some system which removes the abuse possibilities ). It will prevent a mod like XVM from being needed. -
It is not a single player game if he is doing it in randoms BB's are not intended as carrier escorts, a CA will do a better job.

I think you can fuse the warheads so it won't overpenetrate belt armor protecting a citadel. But ianal and all that Or it will be sucked in the air The speed would kill it though, but it would make HE Dive bombers a lot more useful when realistically modeled -
There were no MM changes but when Atago got introduced almost no one had grinded to tier VIII let alone higher, so those first times you were almost always top tier. And who said Mogami is worse then Myoko, I said Atago is worse than Myoko

The high amount of them in battle is because it is a premium ship and it was quite popular for a while when it had really favourable matchmaking. As I said, if I play her a lot now I am sure my wr/dmg will drop as it now meets more tier IX and X in battle while it only met other Atago's and Warspite's and Atlanta's and Sims during the first week(s). Atago really is not that good. Not nearly as good as Mogami, I would even think Myoko is better or a lot closer to it then Mogami.

I have 59% wr in Atago, 62% in Mogami, my damage is higher in Mogami by 15k and yet I was already as good as I am now when I started playing Atago. Atago is not better then Mogami, not in my hands and if I may say so I'm not a bad CA captain. edit: Tbh I was kind of surprised about the announcement when I heard it, I didn't think there was a problem with Atago I must add that my Atago stats are inflated because when I started playing her the MM was highly favourable ( only tier 8's on the server ).

Yes correct, Shima is performing ok though I hear and Fubuki I seen in game do terrible things to my DD's so it can't be all bad. But, this all doesn't relate to the comments about the changes to USN DD's, other than pointing out that there is an additional problem with the IJN DD's. The problem imo is that at higher tiers you can't rely on people being stupid enough to keep sailing in a straight line long enough to rely on your aim marker, that and the sudden increase in detection range at tier VI. Anyway, the changes to USN DD's are not done in regards to IJN DD's I think, but in relation to some new one's ;)

Fletcher and Benson might need rof buff in relation to introduction of other DD's? USN DD's niche, killing DD's, is perhaps shifting a bit and requires more useful torpedo's to counter it? What the exact problem here?

Ahh you're just not using the term better correctly, free xp, credit income and captain retraining are not influencing how GOOD the ship is in battle ( you know, what the game is actually about ). You're talking about benefits of ANY premium ship not Atago... Atago is not a bad ship, I do quite ok with her, but Mogami is by far the better of the two. The 155's can hit around 18km reliable ( shooting slow BB's ofc ) and you get plenty of fire damage. Atago has a different role, it kills CA's with 203 AP. Currently, Mogami is better though because you see more BB heavy games and vs BB's I 200% rather take Mogami then Atago. Btw, Atago performed worse for a reason, you can disagree but the numbers don't agree with your disagreement

Meta doesn't reward full dedicated escort ships unless you play in division. Atlanta can't go alone due to meeting other CA/CL's which will kill it fast before it will even get in range. Being deadly to DD's is nothing if you don't have DD's stupid enough to try and go near you.
