It's not about affordability, it is about being shafted and getting doubloons pushed down your throat if you want to buy a premium ship which is other regions is normally available without the unneeded bundles. If it was about affordability, it would have been in my port the moment it was in the shop. It is not, because affordability has NOTHING to do with it.

Confederate is > 20% hp of six targets, High Calibre I'm not sure but it's a fixed percentage of the enemy team's hit points. so multiple people can get those medals during a match and they only 'reward' dealing damage not going after objectives. I'm not sure if it would be applicable, or fair, in WoWs without some changes ( mind you we also don't have spotting dmg yet, and xp for plane kills is likely getting revised, so maybe we will be able to properly reward team play in the future ).

That is the problem with high caliber and even confederate, you can farm those without being actually that useful for the team ( though the extent is less than some would think, you can't deal that much damage and not be at least partially useful which should enable the rest of your team to go after the objectives while you distract and dmg targets ).

I would instantly switch to the 203's if there wasn't such a large range penalty. As it is, I think the 155's with captain skills are the most optimal configuration.

Wrong, I buy premium and it's still not ok with me. I admit I'm biased as I bought gold in WoT with the intent of using it in WoWs. I don't play WoT much, not since WoWs has come out, I didn't need the gold on my WoT account but WG advertised there would be account unification, and they let everyone believe it would be at release ( since that is also what happened with WoWp ). Now, the game is in release status, but we don't have account unification. I want to buy the ship, I don't want doubloons pushed down my throat since I have gold waiting. If WG wants more money from me for ships, they should let me buy the ship alone, or unify the accounts completely ( they can leave out free xp for all I'm concerned, for me it's less important ). In the mean time I'll keep using my WoT gold for premium time, so it's not going to waste or anything. And yes, the bundle isn't bad bang for buck either. And damn yes, it's a fun ship, but it's about the principle edit: You know what, looking at the stats from Trigger_Happy_Daddy I am soooooooo tempted... stronk stetpedder is hard to pass on.

That would make sense ;) It has been suggested before many times yet it hasn't caused WG to do so. It's a minor nuisance, and once you understand where the extra credits are going to I never was really bothered by it not being in a split section.

You can try to generate a new preferences.xml, just rename your existing one with the client closed and when you start the game it should generate a new one with default settings.

Since WG has chosen to delay unification of anything but premium time, I have chosen to not buy or spend doubloons. That you find uses for them, and have no objections to buying them, is your prerogative and there is nothing wrong with using that as you see fit. But I also hope you have the same leniency towards others who do have their objections. Also, the main reason people don't want them/don't have use for them, is because of the limited amount of ships we can buy with doubloons directly.
