A MMO game shouldnt be modded ! Do something before too late.
mtm78 replied to Armen_13's topic in General Discussion
Uhm since when is shell coloring a bad mod Even stock one's seem to have faint yellow/orange distinc colors, but for the colorblind like me I can't see that. I agree that a centralized mod store sounds very appealing. -
I don't think turning into WoT would be a bad thing from a commercial standpoint Btw, WoT had some bigger 'land slide balance changes' aka introduction of tier X mediums and TD's. I didn't knew it killed the game? This idea I think was first made in Alpha and then later a couple of times in each stage ( I know since I proposed an armor model viewer when someone else mentioned having a module layout view in harbor would be really useful and this was during CBT ). WG is fully aware of the request and afaik there would be a 3d model and armor/module viewer coming to the wiki. You can however also use a 3rd party site which does exactly that, some content however is not accessible unless you have a paid account. http://gamemodels3d.com/worldofwarships/

Well 'honed practise over time' equals skill right, well in the sense how I meant it anyway And again, both of you seem to miss the part about friendlies, not enemies. Yes, enemies are easier to predict because you more often know more variables, with friendlies you don't know anything about the team trying to engage them ( enemies turn because your allies make them, or when objects/land mass makes them, or less often preemptively ). And since we are talking about shooting torpedo's from behind friendlies since one can predict the future and 'know' they will not turn the wrong way, I think saying that one actually can't predict the future is not that wrong?

No one can and should ever argue about entertainment value MK is a bit of an odd duck, I am happy you like it so much.
-
You can... And it's an essential skill you have to develop as exclusive torpedo user, because the higher tier you play the less time you spend shooting at the marker and the more you spend "feeling the force" and shooting based on what you think the enemy will do instead of basing it on what it's doing... ...With friendlies is easier, it just requires practice and forward thinking... Precissely what CA cruisers that sporadically use Torps lack, they are just desperate to use the limited torpedo windows they can get and are going to shoot... Doesn't matter what. In reality is very simple... "If I were in that guy's shoes, what I would do?" You start like that and slowly develop your "Torpedo Etiquete"... For example when I'm in a wolfpack, the point man shoots 1st and I always wait for his/her launch to perform mine to cover the "blindspots" he left or to attack other targets he didn't, not because I don't want to hit him, as I'm already maneuvering taking that into account, it's because I hate wasting torps (Specially when your next shot can take more than 1m to be rdy) ...All of this is possible because of a simple fact... I pay attention to what others do around me... And at its essence, that's the problem, you have players that pay 0 attention to anything that's not been targeted... And when that player is armed with a devastating weapon... crap will hit the fan sooner or later. No you can't. Simple. You can never predict the future, you don't know if enemy has fired torps, you don't know what get's spotted in 30 seconds ( or more with long range torps ) or if a BB is shelling your allies or well any number of things which might happen and which makes people want to turn, so how again can you predict the future? Also, I don't think you should be trying to pull a 'skill' card on me

Yubari's Been Nerfed to the point of Uselessness - WG took our money & ran!

Kuma is a beast, I sold her because I wanted to skimp on port slots but I do regret it. Kuma and Omaha are both on my 'buy back once' list. -

I would buy a Premium Kuma if it get's better torps, AAA and rudder shift time -
Not only that, there are people playing who don't speak English. Speaking English is not a game requirement so we can not expect everyone to be able to do it. Even more, you can disable chat ( I don't want my kid to read some of the more 'worrisome' conversations ). Saying you launched in chat basically only makes you feel better about yourself, because 'hey I warned him'. But in fairness, you just assume you did. But you don't know if he can even read chat, if he can read English, if he has the time to pay attention to chat or if enemy torps force him to turn anyway. Especially the last bit, you can not predict when someone has to turn and to which direction. So again: if you feel so desperate for damage to launch torps, be a man and do it from the front line and not from behind others. There are exceptions, but they are very rare and they do not include most commonly found 'excuses'. I don't think I would be able to use a voice warning for all torps launched by allies near me which I could intercept, it would be to much information to process.

No problem just check my profile. You have done better in Atago as well. Sorry but if you fight within 2km from battleships with cruisers and especially a battleship with torpedo's you can't really expect me to not comment on how 'useful an trait' it is that you successfully managed to do that once? Cruisers do not brawl with battleships ( unless you mean ambush but then classify what you mean properly ). It does not end well for them, unless they can use your torps ( I saw you hit one ), and preferably not against the only BB which also has torpedo's. This is just basic common sense.
-
Do you have replays enabled by any chance? Mhm coming within 2km of a Torpitz twice in one match and sinking them sounds not impossible. I seen terrible players in Tirpitzes but I would like to see the replay. Shooting down 22 planes with MK is not really a feat btw.

Aim above island at focused target = hit island
mtm78 replied to anonym_gCiyicUsNYGl's topic in General Discussion
I notice it with the reticle jumping when changing zoom levels at times ( this coincides with the sight not snapping on a target behind an island ), but I was pretty unsure how widespread it is. I also am using quite a lot of mods and since this is a recent patch my own particular behavior might as well be caused by a faulty mod. -
If this is indeed the meaning of the original post, I am not qualified to fully go into realistic armor model behavior in combat but I am sure other will be. I can only say that afaik from the discussions I witnessed from people who do know more about the subject it's the USN ships which would benefit the most from 'actual' armor modeling and IJN would fare the worst due to quality of steel. As I said however, I do not have the background to support this either way so I will make room for those who can actually do so. I also will obviously apologize to KnightObilic if what you said is what he actually meant, with the reservation that actually stating it in the way you eventually did is far more beneficial for any constructive discussion on any subject rather than the bland and open to interpretation statement he made.
-
No we don't because ships sometimes turn. It's really simple, don't shoot torps where friendlies can even turn into. You can not predict what will happen, if they NEED to turn to avoid enemy torps or enemy gun fire they should NOT have to worry about players shooting torps from behind them. That red line would be meaningless. Edit: best way to say it I guess below; If you're so hungry for damage that you absolutely need to launch torps, then be a man and be in front of the others.

Hey, we have MLP content already, so people, really? Really? Are you really complaining about anime when we have My Little Pony already available? And yes, just like a mod you need to enable the content to see it.

Expert Guide to HIJMS Mogami (5.0.3) - "Lady of Glass, Heart of Fire"

Seems that quote was misinterpreted... only shows we need an EU Q&A asap. edit: btw, shall I not comment on the rest -
Bugs are bugs, they can have a number of sources. Would be nice if TS could post his preferences.xml so his settings can be mimicked and the bug reproduced perhaps

You Someone said: WG is unable to implement GE armor correctly without making it instantly OP. And you are surprised someone says out loud that sounds a bit like something which would fit extremely well with the well known term 'wheraboo'. I am clearly not a child, and you ad hominem doesn't really add to the discussion anyway. edit: for clarity, let's quote you again...

So you're OK with me focusing you down if I know you're good because you're a forumite like me, but it's worse if someone does it because he uses a mod? I mean, it doesn't seem to make as much sense, if you want to prevent getting focus you should hide it entirely no? Ofc, on other side forum is much smaller community, and I like it that you keep your profile available for forum discussions. Double edged sword, guess you've given it some thought ( more than I did when I started typing this reply ).

Kutuzov for sale on EU in a 60 euros bundle, just like Tirpitz
mtm78 replied to 22cm's topic in General Discussion
Atago is a typical IJN stealth cruiser, hell with skills and equipment is can stealth torp, it's a lot harder to play optimal. Also, MK is a support ship not a carry ship, I reckon a lot of MK are atm being played in divisions were Atago's have been played alone to a larger degree. I'm actually surprised that NO still is able to kill more planes, either MK has 'balanced AAA' or carriers are avoiding it like the plague -
Only when set to public will 3rd part have access through WG API.
-
Thank you, this is indeed what I mean and is the reason why this issue shouldn't be combined with the bundles only dogma we currently seem to have

Like I said I am discounting bundles but only looking at approx. monetary value of ships. I can't find it now but a forumite made a post where he shown that the differences in per ship prices are not that large ( and as I said, I'm discounting bundles atm ). Also, if 'we' EU hate those bundles as much as some are making it out to be, how can EU be paying for RU if we only have 'bundles who no one buys'? And NA is just the spoiled brat of the WG family, it once started and now it's out of control with them 'demanding' the freebies. Ofc I'm over simplifying but so are you. I think we should approach the bundle issue separately, mixing it with general price differences in regions runs the risk of making bundles the 'lesser evil' or the part which doesn't get the attention it deserves. Per ship monetary value is what creates price differences, and regional marketing staff is what is creating in which fashion they are sold. I'm having some troubles expressing myself I feel, the point I want to make is that if you combine the problems they are bigger then their sum, but their still separate issues.
