    I am watching it now, I'm actually surprised.... version 1 he tested was only viable against DD's, yet WG still thought it needed adjustments... To bad that last video is already a month old and with WG you can't EVER rely on promises or on releasing a ship without big late second changes.

    Can one of you actually good carrier players reading this thread please confirm or deny that Ark Royal is the next CV premium to offer crutches to 'lesser skilled players' so they can get their purple anyway?

  7. I never really played them, but I've always advocated they should be in the game. Just like now, I might not like how they are implemented but without CV's you can't have a WWII based fleet op arcade game. It just feels so frustrating going back through patch notes and being able to checkbox all changes favoring a certain class more as others, and then realizing that the constant whine from the players in that class had lead to this.... which WG tried to make out like a 'total rework' but is nothing more as a buff to battleship survivability at the expense of the other classes.

    I can only talk about the DD I have so here goes - -I just gotten a Monaghan, it's rather meh but it can work pretty well. It's basically a Farragut with 4 guns, and the option to use a separate hull allowing the mounting of 9.2km sea mines in combination with a trb giving it a very 'not Murican' style of play. Would recommend for casual play, USN captain trainer ( if using first hull, later hull doesn't seem to synergize with builds you'd use on other USN DD's ). Blyskawica / Lenningrad -> both of them play imho pretty much the same, with Lenningrad being faster and harder to hit due to profile, but Blyskawica being able to keep up in a fight. Blyskawica has a bad rep now, people want her as broken as she was with stealth fire capabilities still in the game ( it had one of the largest stealth fire windows ), but she performs well still when I take her out. She is still a multi role destroyer capable of both gunboat and torpedo plays, just like Lenningrad is. Shinonome -> don't do it. I am a IJN DD lover of old, but current IJN DD's are not what they once were. Shinonome can have excellent games, but depend on enemy being stupid ( like all torpedo focused oriented ships ). Z-39 -> meh. Dpm = bad. Stealth = meh. Profile = big. Torps = meh. Hydro is noice... but getting close enough to use it ... If you really want to train a German captain, sure why not. But for fun gameplay aka something to spam games in, I wouldn't recommend. Sims -> love it. Close range knife fighter with option to launch sea mines which hit long after you forgot you even fired them. Nice guns, workable concealment, plenty fast, very nimble, access to DFAA ( not that it has an actual influence on the game but hey ).

    Which is why USN DD's are knife fighting experts with blistering fast turret traverse meaning you can keep dancing with all guns on target. That's where you try and fight with them, and as soon as the trade is getting less favorable to you, you disengage. Don't fight anything which is kiting away at any decent range from you ( unless it's important, and you can make the less favorable trades and still come out on top ).

Dislikes: -CV rework favoring battleship survival over gameplay in other classes -CV rework failing to do anything about vision problems -CV rework failing to do anything about skill gap between absolute horse poo and somewhat capable CV players, or do anything about the sudden Skill™ once get's when moving to a carrier from other classes. ( no sorry, the occasional bad player which stays bad even in a CV does not outweigh the number of CV's I see in game being used to pad people's peen. -CV rework failing to do more between interaction between player and enemy planes ( DFAA not influencing drop patterns is the worst thing that could have been done ). -CV rework failing to limit CV influence on battle outcome because ( how predictable.. which is the worst part ) the damage shifted from battleships to anything on low hp, having lower averages means nothing if CV's are ultimate clean up tools. -Difference in meta between tiers 5-7 and 8-10 has increased over time, mostly because the content around the top tiers offers different gameplay options. -Kremlin's long range dispersion. -Enterprise -SAP on ITA cruisers hurting lolibotes dis-proportionally ( *yes it's always DD's fault if you get shot by them you should just ignore PTFO and run away if they are on enemy team right.. ) -Threatening to kill the game by shoehorning submarines into combined fleet operations -Coming back on old promises. -Giving us a Dutch ship, but again tarnishing it with the threat of seeing submarines act like they were part of fleet operations ( and could do 30kts submerged ). -Finally giving weebs access to Yuudachi so they could poi in game, but WG decided IJN DD's fired sea mines edit: after this morning I figured I had to add some more dislikes: -low WR players playing the same way constantly since they don't care about their WR since WG doesn't put any incentive up for not being crap at the game. -players with low WR in DD's without cammo's, ESPECIALLY IJN DD's without cammo. -low WR BB players sniping whole game from 20km ( see the commonality these people have? They all win less games. Maybe they should stop doing what they are doing..... and do something else ). Likes -I can always play something else if I feel like it. -Community is what keeps this game 'interesting'. -Sitting in port, looking at my ships and thinking about long lost patches where the grass was green and the girls were pretty.

    Depending on which tiers you're looking at that is either valid or not that much, as low tier cruisers do not need nerfs in relation to battleships. I haven't seen any recent dmg distribution chart from WG but the one's I seen ( long ago.. ) clearly showed AP is what causes the most dmg against battleships. not HE not fires and not even HE+fires. I would love to see more recent one's but WG isn't showing them I think.. for some reason I still expect AP to be highest dmg dealer to BB's, so a lot of 'whaa whaa HE spam whaa whaa fires' we been having in this game from the day off release is based on some people's weird perspective on how the game should look like. Also, IFHE is more a problem with CL / CA interaction right? With IFHE raw HE dpm off light cruiser makes heavy cruisers fear them instead of other way around.

    Every source I read mentions magazine detonation. This video is also much more impressive in soundstage, it's mainly the sound which gives the impression that the detonation wasn't that severe. *Also note, every time a BB asks for 'historical accuracy' and 'my AP should blast enormous holes in DD's rendering them combat ineffective immediately' they should be shown this and ask them if they think this is what three torpedo's should do to a battleship 4m from impact, I am actually curious what the damage was from the torpedo attack alone but I don't think there is a reconstruction like what they did for some other more famous ships. Mostly because I understand the list due to substantial flooding ( assuming three torpedoes made big enough holes to render compartments useless ) but a list shouldn't cause a magazine detonation ( unless it was a shock which set off the initial ammunition? ), and I have a hard time seeing torpedo hits causing internal fires ( unless breaking something like a fuel oil line near electrical sparks? ).

    The main reason imo she still compares favorably are the 3 forward facing turrets. Playing Oktober Revolution or even Izmail you notice how much easier it was to keep angles and switch targets reasonably quickly with 12 guns ( Izmail can do it only when showing the stern not the bow ). Sigma only helps if you aim correctly anyway

    Nikolai can't help it WG buffed it when they limited her matchmaking so she can not longer fight with Fuso's and New Mexico's... Also, people have this mythical believe how OP Nikolai is.. especially people who don't have her. I get better win rate in Arkansas, and comparable with Arizona and Warpsite. Maybe it's more the player and less the ship ;) Nah can't would be naming and shaming involved I recon What would be interesting though is finding people who been in the same match as you and who have decent stats indicating they understand the game to an extent we can't assume from bad players or hidden profiles, I sometimes tell the guys on voice something and or ask something, as even people in the same match see things different. What I mean to point to is that I am curious as to how two good players playing not in a division but who are in the same team, would analyze the match from the other guy.

    Adding to that, you know, for a BB to be somewhere with a broadside cruiser at close range, who's fault is that? Did the cruiser have omni directional trusters and actually approached sideways so he could keep giving flat broadside the entire time? Isn't some part of this just the planning you need to do ahead, and your situational awareness. I mean I hate it when I get overpens on a cruiser I thought who would take massive damage, but often later on it's like -> he was baiting me with his broadside and I fell for it, if I had hold my shot he eventually had to make a turn giving my shells more time to arm. Hood wasn't the only one for which this didn't hold up ;) Overall you're right ofc, just wanted to show off this footage as it's one of the best films showing what happens in a catastrophic magazine explosion

    Shameless thread hijack Well as long as I'm still playing, even if I am vocal about the bad experiences, I must be seeing some light at the end of the tunnel... It was really a bad experience, and I remember it actually from earlier on as well, I just should not play at those hours ( right after server restart ). The players playing at those hours are not used to communication, or at least coherent communication in relation to the game. Those misunderstandings ( let's be hopeful and call them such ) just the same as in your situation, occur on a much higher and constant frequency. What also didn't help is that I had not a lot of sleep last night Which severely limits my capability to ignore people being wrong on the internet ( or in game ).

    I'm trying to negatively pad my account using Crispy Creme, it's working pretty well. It's bad... but sometimes it can be fun playing decently in a bad ship.

    I recognize the clan, seems every time I meet one of them or their 'allies' they go out off their way to be as irritating to me as possible. Leaving flanks, not spotting when I can use, running away when I need support, trying to get me the first one engaged /spotted and then running away. Guess you must be pretty sad in life if you log into a computer game just to grief players, but that was what those instances of people not doing their job just in order to piss me off. Or like the ffin IJN DD in my last game, no cammo, parks ship behind an island and goes AFK, entire flank left without spotting -> game lost. 600 battles, 37% wr, 20& main battery hit ratio ( but almost 12% torpedo accuracy... meaning he suicide rushes every game... to his glorious 17k avg damage. Up to a lot of different tier 8 ships and even two tier 9's, all with 3x% wr, that's quite impressive with only 600 battles I think considering his avg xp gain... Sorry this thread is about broken Hosho but c'mon WG I know this is a human being and all but can't you like... make coop more attractive for them or anything This is about Hosho, sadly the pitchforks are not about removing the entire class or redoing REEwork using some basic guidelines like: BB's do not need more diapers, destroyers don't need to be crap on harder. And yes Hosho is over performing even for a carrier, and yes this displeases me greatly and frankly also just feels very frustrating to play against. It's a bit like Enterprise in that regard.

    One advice, don't play 8:30 in the morning, server resets and only bots seem to be online. Finally not having a chat ban didn't last long with those 'players'.... 46% trash telling me to 'learn to play' when I point out his keyboard has a W key, which can be used to move his battlebarge forward and closer to the enemy so they can trade some of their HP for keeping their allies safe.... The actually average Fuso which ran away from the fight to let two tier 5 BB's and me in cruiser alone against most of enemy team, being on full HP but not using guns for minutes so he can leave entire flank without being seen... The disgusting Furutaka which was 4km from me with me in Crasny Cream fighting the cruiser I ACTUALLY COME TO HELP THE FUTUTAKA WITH... you know what he does? Uses his superior concealment in comparison with mine to AVOID GETTING SPOTTED by the enemy cruiser and RUNS AWAY. I deserve the chat ban I got now.. but those deserved every bit of verbal diarrhea. Just like the .... in his Konig which was FULL HP THE ENTIRE GAME HIDING BEHIND MY KONGO, and then has the [edited]nerve to ask me what my problem is ( in German ofc ) when I let him know how helpful for the team effort his contributions have been. He was ffin ACTIVELY STAYING BEHIND ME, EVEN WHEN I TRIED TO TURN OUT. I almost wish this game would allow teamkills without retribution..... almost.
