World of Warships - Aslain Modpack For In Game Statistics - Your Thoughts?
mtm78 replied to CAPT_Taste's topic in General Discussion
This whole discussion is absurd for anyone who actually followed it before this thread was created. Mod is dying with 5.3 according to developer and it will be permanent. /case closed? And if someone wants to know my humble opinion.. -
edit: just fyi, the rest of the post get's a thumbsup, but ... you think he will apologize?
-
Kenjiro, if given a decent sample size, influence off team between 45% and 55% is the individual player and not the team. You can not argue this ( unless you want to claim that MM isn't random! ). But that doesn't mean that a the difference between a 45% and 55% in any given singular match will be representative of how they will perform. I seen 45% players carry their team, and 55% players derp out like a total dweeb. The statistical truth however is that the 45% player will do this not as often as the 55%. These are mathematical truths which cannot be argued against, in my humble opinion.

This thread predates XVM, why you trying to change the discussion into another XVM whine?
-
Don't mind me holding you to this
-
They don't I think this is the 'old' color blind rating system from WoT?
-
Actually 'No cap' is NOT stupid, capping when you can still kill all remaining ships is stupid. edit: Like! Like! But don't take a break, waxx25 is not representing the average forumite in this afaik
-
Yeah I been told that, but for me it's very hard to keep track of all enemy ships spotted ( and I don't need to press alt -> alternative battle interface is ticked in my config ). My memory is... wonky
-
For me, Voldemort is QB ( so... I guess you guys know which twitch streams I tend to watch ).
-
Afaik the mod has been out there for a long time already, I doubt it will influence your game experience as much as you fear. That off course doesn't mean I installed it because 'it looks pretty' But playing any kind of ship which is dependent on situational awareness to have the biggest impact on the game, you will benefit more from the minimap mod imo. Knowing exactly which BB icon represents the Yamato and which one is a Amagi greatly influences which of the two I would possible show my side. Knowing exactly if the DD which was spotted 30 second ago somewhere to my north was an Shimakaze as opposed to the lost Sims on the enemy team will enable me to plan ahead to evade a lot of long running torps, or to safely ignore it for the time being. Knowing which cruiser icon is an Atlanta or Cleveland will make me choose a different angle of attack with my DD. That is why I think minimap is actually the most beneficial mod, at least for me. Take away my crosshair, take away my 'navigator', and I will still perform at the same or almost the same level. But take away my minimap, and things become a lot harder. Even more now it has detection circles for sea and air, which makes it much easier to plan escape routes or to keep multiple ships just outside your detection range. Imo, minimap should be in vanilla, just like it is in World Of Tanks, but it didn't happen there overnight either. Given time, I expect WG to add functionality to vanilla WoWs which would make most if not all of my mods obsolete ( different crosshairs to choose from, just like in WoT. Minimap, just like in WoT ).
-
No it is included, the screenshot is from when you install it with Aslains ( it's called Navigator mod ). I edited my previous post. I am actually quite curious how it fixes it into looking as good as does now edit: Minimap imo gives a bigger advantage over vanilla. In any case, don't think I did not point this mod out to 'the powers that be'. It's not up to me to make decisions based on my morals, it's not my game.
-
Navigator mod. I asked Aslain to include it, I found it in ProShips. But using it seperate it broke partly and looks like this -> With XVM ( not the one from Aslains but from the other thread ) it fixes it like it is displayed in ProShips and turns into what you see on my latest screenshots. edit: I call it Navigator as the swf file is called that way, in ProShips it is called different ( gyronimioscope something something like that .... or trioniometer something something... ) edit2: Fighting goniometer -> It seems it looks 'bad' in ProShips as well, somehow me installing XVM over my Aslain pack turns it into something much nicer looking
-
I have not hidden my stats, and while I only played a few games today I only seen one enemy player who also had XVM installed.

Get on skype ;)

Discussing moderator actions/decisions in open forum is also not allowed

Both variants use the same code base afaik, just one if 'more stable' then the other and one is incompatible with some other existing mods. It's safe to assume imo that if one is no longer going to work, neither will the other.
-
Guys, discussion is over -> http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/42463-0522-ingame-players-statistics/page__st__40__pid__812906#entry812906 Edit: For those who are too lazy to click on a link -> mod is expected to stop working permanently with next patch.
-
Eventually, this means you will have to block chat .. look at WoT for how it will end
-
That would boost dmg and xp, but not wr. If you make sure enemy top players are occupied and not deleting your own tomato's you will boost your wr. Decisions decisions decisions ..
-
Skill based MM wouldn't really be fun in randoms anyway, trust me.
-
No in that example one team should have 1 yamato and 2 monty's vs 2 Yamy's and 1 monty. Just spread them out, it doesn't need to be 100% mirror. On the other hand, national battles do sound like a lot of fun if you ask me, and if that means correcting imbalance between nations at specific tiers then that's what it means
-
And you don't think team behaviour is influenced by team composition?
-
Well I can't speak for the masses, but team composition always influences how I play
-
No I got the more stable one from this thread -> http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/42463-0522-ingame-players-statistics/ edit: when using Aslain I misread and thought both options would kill minimap and navigator mod, so I installed without stats mod and then applied mod from above thread. Aslain now corrected me and stated he is using two variants one of which is working with those two other mods I 'can't do without' Anyway, linked thread is from official XVM developer so I would stick with that, you can edit config file if you 'need' more info but I'm happy with just seeing rating. All other stuff is not that telling imo anyway, even rating isn't some holy grail as I explained some posts back.
