Well jokes aside, a little birdie told me they actually are putting this in as the only tier 2 premium CV...
-
I was expecting to see someone posting an actual drawing of a game This was almost an disappointment.
-
I'm actually more curious as to why UI isn't showing you that information....
-
I expect I have more as 84 but alas wows numbers is not telling me and I cba'd to open the client and check in game stats. Draws were pretty common back when there was no points involved, just a timer and 'kill all or capture the base'. Adding those points prevented a lot of draws because people would just run to map border and draw a game out.

Only Zao, Shima, Yamato, Khaba, Moskva, Grozo and Hindenburg -> bunch of cammo's I didn't need, bunch of Oeroboroe ( or w/e it's spelled ) which I have 50+ off already. Was hoping for fire flags, I ran dry. I did get fxp but again I think I got 10.000 fxp not the 100.000 I see others got. I also wished I had 50 of those signals per SC, I got 25 ( I think... defo not 50... but I can't check anymore as client is closed ). Nah RNG was not with me today. -
I heard just now from @El2aZeR that he thinks V2 is what is in the shop, which is indeed the last video from Notser.

Sadly I can't find any video review on her which is certainly from the same version as being sold :(

Because WG ensured it's not possible which I already said right :) And this only shows that rework has not fixed much really ( except no more BB's being devastated and contacting support about it ), since WG accepts the influence of CV's and there want to prevent one team from losing theirs early. So, late game CV is not master race for cleanup of low hp ships? Having more dmg on one target concentrated is no more helpful unless you kill the target outright. And while the dmg is spread out more, this only makes them more influential in late game.

What are the most OP premium ships at the moment?
mtm78 replied to seXikanac's topic in General Discussion
Mhh yeah thinking about how that would feel on Huangmeh I see your point -
The 'unwritten rule' or 'gentleman's agreement' was from when sniping was still rampant, since it was effective. Back then sometimes CV's would openly NOT snipe the other, to focus on their damage accumulation and only to look at other CV at end of match. Sniping is bad btw, since CV impact on game has not been fixed with rework ( instead late game influence of CV seems as strong as ever if not better ). That is why CV's were made so that sniping stopped being effective, usually CV would not die anyway and player would have wasted time in which he could have done dmg to other ships. And in current iteration I don't think it makes much sense anyway, not unless the enemy CV is much better as you in striking your team as you are in striking his/her team in which case it would make sense in trying to get his probably dmg output from the board. But anyway, it's very double right, them claiming rework was a success but CV's still having the same if not more influence on the outcome of games, and them still acknowledging this by making sniping ineffective.

Then let's not hijack this thread by exchanging opposing views without any hope of the other party admitting they are wrong.

I got a bit carried away, I was planning on just writing down my experience with being victim of each specific CV.. but the salt took over having to relive those moments I do notice that I generally fear less from RN CV's, and most from USN CV's ( with big E being the worst to play against ). IJN besides Hosho I don't think I have a real big issue with, I mean there been games where enemy CV killed me or annoyed the heck out of me but I don't think I ever felt like taking a break in my session just to let some of my frustration a chance to escape in an healthy manner ( Enterprise does this to me, especially since I know the relative skill required to have such an impact om my gaming experience ). Yeah that's about it. GZ I haven't met many times, but as I recall it has nasty AP bombs and not that good rockets.
-
Well not always, just as good players don't always recognize ships are under powered while playing them, as they might compensate to the point where it feels balanced in their hands. The better you are at a game though, the higher the chances are you recognize aspects which can be used to your advantage ( which leads to understanding what is OP or not, since things which are advantageous to you when applied to a ship makes that ship comparably better as others ). On the other hand, if you're average you might have less understanding of certain game mechanics and therefore are not able to see which aspects allow exploitation. I think they did increase flight time but that was already some patches ago. I know. It's nothing compared to the BB whine we always had though, sadly the only reason this is getting less is because there are less and less boxes to check on the bingo card. I bet you have say 1900 BB battles and only 1000 games in destroyers, clear and obvious bias

I hate the low amount of interaction between planes and players, dfaa doesn't disrupt aim/pattern and it's all about dps / automation. Flak seems to be the bane of bad players, yet good players tend to claim it's easy to avoid ( and again, the whole thing is automated, there is no interaction ( like putting up flak in the direction you set up sector reinforcements ). It feels less immersive to play against, having to ctrl click the most dangerous squad was actually more skill based as what we got now it feels, which doesn't make me happy. Now overall I don't see CV's as entirely broken should be removed entirely or all that, I would like to adjust the whole interaction between planes and targets so it's no longer an automated process. But WG already knew this way before rework and still went ahead, and they are probably right since simple automated game mechanics is about the level I expect general player base to be comfortable with. I also severely dislike the AA changes to certain ships, I researched Grozovoi because in some games I want to put up a middle finger to enemy CV's.... now it's got laughable AA. Bit like old Yuubari before the ancient IJN 25mm nerf and them giving her DFAA to 'compensate' ( and now even DFAA is useless as it doesn't affect chances of getting hit at all ). Kind of makes me feel like they should be offering me another chance to return her and get my money back ( not that I would, I would keep her in my port as the queen she is now ). Also, with current CVs having noobtube armament with rocket planes, even the worst of the worst can still damage me, while the worst of the worst wouldn't be able to properly conduct a cross drop if their own lives depended on it. No, REEwork has left me bitter, and submarines might be the final stepping stone to moving on. The whole change has fixed nothing except less BB tears. And that's NOT what I think this game needs. We need lots of those tears, we need it so we can sustain our saline levels.

That is my fear. Normally I would have some more trust in testing process but currently I just don't even think they care much about anything which doesn't immediately affect battleships :( @Starchy_Tuber The guy you were arguing with is a nice guy, he's usually quite helpful and I didn't see his comment as really 'snarky' or anything and fwiw I don't see a lot of effort in writing / describing your question in a manner which makes it easy to provide answers to. Unlike last post: yes lower tier planes have less hp and fly slower, thus negatively impacting survivability and return times ( already said that btw, but just to show much much easier it is when you ask direct questions instead of leaving things open to interpretation ;) ).
-
Mhm let's call it a slight misunderstanding, you know with us forum being so 'toxic' or what not Nneway, seems our resident CV uniscums are in agreement the ship's plane replenish times outweighs having slower planes. I'm more interested in drop pattern, and thus it's ability to hurt underage botes, again as V1 of testing apparently was a 'bit' broken in that regard. Kaga also had planes from lower tier, but it was never considered a weak CV now was it. Plane tier isn't everything, now it means mainly that you have less hp and AAA should chew through squads faster ( without requiring much interaction from players btw, as implementation of flak burst is automated ). But I will leave the more elaborate and specific answers to the CV players who will be able to tell you a lot more I trust

1. CV's don't go up against each other. 2. CV's don't go up against each other, because attacking the other ships from relative safety first is a gentlemen's agreement amongst CV players I'm told ( also more effective.... ) 3. High tier games rarely have double CV's, I haven't seen it in ages. 4. Appearantly V1 of testing was a DD killer worthless against BB's.. it seems they made it a bit better against BBs but I can't seem to find any patch notes / dev blog on how they limited the impact on destroyers...... Also, don't forget, CV's don't go up against each other
-
Maybe you should put some effort into reading properly, as he said they don't go up against each other. Tier 6 CV is not directly fighting a tier 8CV. In fact no CV is ever really fighting a CV directly, they usually don't attack each other at all unless the game is already almost over. @BLUB__BLUB you're pretty average:) But you can't answer me the drop pattern + number of bombs so you can't answer my question on if this carrier is the next one which makes mitigation almost impossible ( depends on size of spread an pattern + number of bombs ). I just don't want more noobtube CV's killing my game experience.
-
Well tbh, you just said in the other thread why you don't see a difference between Ark Royal's effective dmg output vs destroyers compared with a Ranger, and that doesn't give me a lot of confidence as the old reviews don't agree with your statement. And Rangers don't kill me in two passes.. In those cases the opinion of someone @El2aZeR does have added value to me. What bothers me the most with Enterprise is the lesser amount of mitigation possible, I want to know if this applies to yet another noobtube released so WG can lure in hoping they can salvage their stats by playing something entirely broken so even they can feel like they are good players. Btw, you don't have to be unicum, and while El is a good CV player he isn't the best I've known by a long shot ( sadly he doesn't play anymore, not for a long time... most of his guides are still up tho, even if they aren't relevant to current AAA mechanics ). I do listen to your opinions and experiences, I understand that this is also what WG tries to balance the game around - average players. But it's hard to accept this also means that things WG said they wanted to fix with rework, aren't getting fixed really because the fixes might make the game to 'complicated' for playerbase :(
-
I think this just showcases why opinion changes based on skill levels. No Ranger has ever done this to me, while Enterprise is much harder to mitigate damage from. That is my concern, have they made another noobtube with which average players suddenly get a bigger influence on the game outcome.

4th Anniversary: MORE carrier battles in 0.8.8! Yippeeh!
mtm78 replied to SlightlyOff's topic in General Discussion
I really dislike the way WG released this one, last WIP reviews are a month old. It's like WG not only doesn't care about community feedback, they also don't even bother to inform us if they have made changes since last WIP ( in giving CC's 'final version' before release, or maybe there been no changes and CC's were told this but no CC feels he can be bothered making a release video for this ship? ). Not that I want to play it, I just want to have it confirmed that this will be another CV which is EXCELLENT in hurting underage botes and not so much the intended targets ( you know who they should be by now ). Just so I am sure my feeling of disgust is actually warranted -
I misread, then I checked index and saw it on top of the forum, sowwy ( I'll take my meds now I promise )

Misread, I thought you told us to use the excisting SC thread, not that you pinned the dedicated event SC thread

And yet there are also people with 2k battles ( in randoms ) and accounts from 2018 which still have every tier X in the game. Nothing to do with 'not being beta', it's about how much time you spend playing. The guy above spend a lot of time grinding ships in coop... which to me sounds like a painful process, so I don't don't really see the point in being mad he get's rewards for it. I'm not getting 20+ crates and I been playing for a long time.. but haven't played that many battles in that long time.

Yeah we're kidding, CV's are perfectly balanced, no one get's a 15% skill increase by playing carriers, REEwork was perfect in keeping BB's alive longer, and the other classes are more vulnerable. Removing influence of DFAA has helped making game more automated so even potato's can feel relevant, and we only complain because we got nothing better to do.
