Sink the wows-stats (XVM for warships)

I think I seen Admiral_Noodle propose something along the trend of showing the thing which someone excels in ( in that particular ship ). So if someone is in a Mogami with 155 setup and has a 'FireStarter' badge, you know he will be HE spamming a lot? I like that idea, I think it would give both valuable information as well as not giving ammo to people who want to be toxic. Well everyone can say: you don't have any badges, you're terrible blah blah blah. But if someone goes as far as to comment on that, it's surely not the fault of anything or anyone but himself and WG should act directed at him ( sanctions in some form ). I think you're exaggerating, and I would like to see your game profile so I can judge for myself if your own performance has anything to do with your dislike of statistics / performance indicators in game and on the forums for other people to see.
  2. You mean those things you can farm while effectively screwing over the rest of your team?

Bad games and who to blame?

Excuse of most commonly underperforming people. The MM is the same for everyone given ample sample size. But I give you this; there are some games where MM decides the victory. Like yesterday the two games I lost were clearly MM fault, not even my OP division could turn the tide around for the deficit of having 4 dd's vs 1 dd ( who then also refused to go for any cap point but tried to act as damage dealer ) or having Iowa's versus Nagato's balanced by a Kageroo which suicides 2 minutes into the game. But MM does not decide WR, that is only said by people looking for excuses why their WR is lower then someone's else's.

Sink the wows-stats (XVM for warships)

The more I think about it, the more sense Ev1n starts to make with it not being something which can be controlled. If WG can add a layer which gives the people who use XVM for the good reasons the same information, without giving the people who use it for the wrong reasons any ammo resulting in above mentioned reaction, I would be the first to have XVM removed. Also, I don't think the XVM team would cooperate with requests to disable XVM for certain user accounts ( though, they most certainly could ). I expect them to say it's not their responsibility. The only downside is, the exact info which can be valuable for good players is the same as which is the ammo of the people who abuse it. Knowing a ship's module layout is already semi possible because you can check ship stats during battle loading. Adding possibly a new captain skill which allows to see allied/enemy(?) captain skills or something would also give information you can use tactically, but to a far lesser extent then seeing how good someone performs. And yet, it is this actual performance which is misinterpreted and/or abused which causes the toxicity. I would like to know what others think of this; what would give the good people using XVM some information they can use without giving the toxic abuser some ammo to throw around?

ARP ships - A Response Thread

You got a like for part of your post, not all I <3 me ARP ships ( even when I haven't really played them much, I think I played 4 battles with ARP Myoko max.. ). You're not alone, I am hoping the same. It does break immersion a bit the way it is currently implemented.

It doesn't, so you're either mistaken or lying.

I know why this game sucks!

You do have speed, you can see speed by looking at the smoke coming from the chimneys.

    5.2.4 Lag Poor FPS

My old hd7850 has a 85 gpu score, and my old i7 3770 has an 12568 cpu score. Plus you have 4GB memory, which is the minimum requirement and not the recommended amount. Are you sure you didn't mix up the old pc from the cellar with your gaming pc?
  9. I just read WoT patch notes for their latest ST or PT round and their putting detection circles in the minimap as well. We already have that ( max acquisition range ), but since WoT will get dynamic detection circles based on crew skills and equipment I expect the same to happen with WoWs and that means copying the exact functionality as now being provided by the mod with sea and air detectability ranges.

I know why this game sucks!

Not even that, I don't reply to hidden profiles with regard to game balance as it's not possible to see if someone has a> a clear deficit in understanding current game mechanics but mainly b> not possible to judge if someone has a clear and obvious bias. That is why it is absolutely pointless to reply to people with new accounts ( 15 posts ) on the forum and a hidden user profile. So, not only do you hide the empirical data which would allow us to take you seriously when talking about game balance, you also resort to ad-hominem when someone points that out. ps. people are posting on forum that they want Arkansas Beta buffed, but I win more games with her then Imperator. And I primarily play cruisers, not battleships, so yes I can tell from actual experience that cruisers don't have 5 seconds reload. For us who you want to reply to your posts about the game, you hide the ability to see if you actually do. Which is why people will not take you any kind of serious.
  11. Minimap as I admitted before is a tremendous aid imo. But, as I pointed out, you can say ( Noodle ) 'You decide', but I don't agree with that. It's not my decision to make. Triumpgt6, divisions is not only a win rate boost but a huge boost in fun

New Aim Mod (No, realy, this one is new)

That is exactly my point, you can use aim assist and be very good in 1v1 or 1vX engagements since you will be dealing pretty consistent damage, but this doesn't give someone better insight in where to go and what to do. Infact it would create people who rely to much on being able to out damage the enemy team and who ignore the strategic aspects to much. I've won games where I done very little damage, but the damage I done was 100% crucial to winning the game ( defending a flank/ our cap for instance when most of team was pushing other flank ). I think the AA mod creates bad players because of this.

Sink the wows-stats (XVM for warships)

The Izumo was boosting about his stats not because of his win rate but because of his average experience No matter telling him he was still nothing special and that is was probably just his premium account, he considered himself a 'great player' and as such he could bash 'the noobs who ruin his games'. Sorry WG, this is not XVM's fault, the guy was an idiot. I am not saying we should strive to keep XVM alive, I like Ev1n's idea of giving players the good aspects of XVM in game without giving ammo for the idiots to abuse ( I just don't know exactly how it would look like and how it would work ). But, saying XVM is the problem is not true, it is not. It is just easier to point to the tool then to handle all individual toxic 'people' who play this game. It might even be entirely impossible to deal with all individual cases of idiocy, and in that sense it might be that XVM is the cause of evil, but that would be admitting something which empowers the idiots and I don't want that.

    5.2.4 Lag Poor FPS

That some setting is being used which is messing with your performance at certain moments. Can you send a replay, it shows your ingame fps during times of playing so we can check at which times the drops happen. I still think you cpu would be capable of keeping up with some decent settings but it is on min requirements level so you might have to put all options on low to get consistent fps.

Sink the wows-stats (XVM for warships)

Wait, so you're saying people who buy a tier 8 premium and jump into it with a fresh account are the victims here? That XVM is toxic for allowing the community to see someone who has absolutely not a snowballs chance in hell to actually contribute anything in the matches he will get? And there is no fault on the guy who is actively ruining the game for his fellow team members and even opponents who want to play a decent game and not steamroll or be steamrolled? XVM is not the issue, people are the issue. Like my green Izumo last week who complained about the team because ONE guy was red... I friendly reminded him he was ffin green and he should stop thinking of himself as being more important than anyone else, and just play the damn game without crying. He hid behind an island the whole game, ended with < 100 xp, and kept going on in chat about the 'noobs' in his team. But it's not XVM's fault. WG is just not capable it seems to handle the real issue: people. Banning the toxic idiots who abuse a statistics tool is to much work, they rather blame the tool which in my opinion is like banning the sale of hammers because some guy used one to bash his wife's head in instead of hanging up a picture frame on the wall.

New Aim Mod (No, realy, this one is new)

How exactly? I mean, understanding game mechanics would show in having a high win rate, as you know where to go to be important to the team's chance to win. The aim assist doesn't give this. It just gives higher damage and allows them to make shots they wouldn't without cheating. People who do large amounts of damage and not win a high amount of games are suspicious, especially if they claim they get called out a lot and have high hit ratios ( without winning a high amount of games ). I am not accusing anyone, I just would like to know how people in general will interpret the same things I can see in game.
  17. And it should! Because if it was to easy, I would never play 'for the team' but for my 1000 base XP.
  18. How about 1200 / 500? Much fairer imo. Would probably play ranked then.

Sink the wows-stats (XVM for warships)

Just to stop some misconception which might arise: if some good player points to a reason why a team is loosing, him not being on top of the team list is in no way discrediting what he is saying. He might have been forced to use his ship in a way which is very suboptimal just to try and compensate for the people not doing their job, thereby foregoing his chance of having the best game possible in order to actually help the team compensate for those who don't know how to play.

New Aim Mod (No, realy, this one is new)

Very bad people will not be able to use it properly, but 'bad' people will get decent at aiming suddenly. And decent people will get good, good people who can use it to gauge and predict movement better will become excellent. It's not as simple as an actual guided missile, can't be with the flight time's we have in game ( thank god we do! ) but it is most certainly a lot bigger aid then all other mods combined. Well, with regards to dealing damage, for situational awareness minimap mod is as influential as the aim assist is for dealing damage perhaps.

    Team killer discussion thread

Not surprising you blame them for accidentally coming to close, and not yourself for not noticing them. Which btw is exactly what legitimizes friendly damage, no idiots with 6km torps spamming them from second line at enemies 10km away and moving away should be protected from team damage. They should just suffer much more then currently when their torpedo's hit allies with no chance of hitting enemies.

New Aim Mod (No, realy, this one is new)

That is WG will offer protected MM for players with low account levels playing between tier I and III. Not that it doesn't have downsides, I got many tier IV and V premium ships I play to grind credits and train captains, I will meet those new players now just a bit later on but there will still be a definitive skill gap to overcome. If people find this skill gap to big, they should stick to co-op until proficient enough to compete in PVE. @Delaci76 I still have hopes that WG can stop certain mods from being widespread. And yes, I think it would be for the best if the aim assist is made inoperable, it would make the game more fair for those who actually learned how to aim through trail and error.
