Loosing our only tier 9 ship did put us at a severe disadvantage but we could have managed without him, if it wasn't for the entire team organization to evaporate due to the bickering in chat and people just giving up when they saw what he was doing. I admit that the guy was just a tool and would probably have been quite useless without having XVM to whine about in chat, but he might not have been as useless as he was with parking his ship behind an island and only using the keyboard to talk crap to the entire team. XVM in that case was the reason he went on a chat rampage, he said it clearly with his statement about 'to many noobs' even before the battle started. Look, I have XVM myself, and I don't think it's a bad thing. The bad thing is in the people who are not able to use it properly, and the fact that it's not something WG has influence on. If people misbehave in chat, they can get a chat ban, but people just giving up because of XVM before the game started, how would they handle that? 99 out of a 100 times, the guy wouldn't say it out loud and just suicide his ship straight into the enemy, and WG is powerless to deal with that. I rather have WG implement something which gives the people who use XVM for the benefits, the information XVM gives them to make strategic/tactical decisions, but without giving ammo to the toxic 'players' who sadly are a part of our playerbase.

Goodbye no more of my money when so much cheating

Bastard, I been begging WG to gib me one but nope it's 'for alpha testers only' ... bleerghh And then you sell yours Could have asked WG to gib it to me man, try to be a bit more social and sharing /tantrum I do really really want one.. I applied for Alpha but didn't get in, I think Iwaki is a more novel ship then Arkansas Beta and it having smoke and ok torps makes it good enough for me. Heck I even still like Yubari from time to time, you bet I would take out an Iwaki Alpha a couple of times a week

And I just said that it doesn't, so yes I understood perfectly fine. Edit: I tried to explain to you why it is ludicrous to think that at this stage of the project you would be the only one to notice something is not working as it should ( like, it using premium XP instead of base XP ). I first just told you you were wrong but you didn't seem to believe that you could be, instead you continue on. Now you post some screenshot of your mission progress like it is proof of anything, it is not so you posting that has absolutely zero value. And some 1 post new account likes it, for some reason. I got no idea why you still cling on to your claim that the mission progress is broken..
-
You mean like that green Izumo who threw his toys in a tantrum, parked his top tier BB behind an island and spent the entire time complaining about noobs dragging him down; and all because ONE guy in our team was red? Ye, definitively didn't have the time to cry... o wait, actually he had nothing but time But, since you don't care about chat anyway, I guess you're just no bothered by it. Which is fair game, to each his own. But don't make it sound like that is the case for everyone.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
mtm78 replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Yes you did run into me in my Ibuki and yes you did carry me. I overextended through the middle but I was doing AOK until a single salvo from a Tirpitz removed 90% of my hp Hope you enjoyed the +1 I gave you for 'Plays well', I like my win rate and if I get carried I give credit where credit is due In a New Orleans even... -
Nice game btw, I would post it in the 'which forumites did I meet today' but since you claim you're not a forumite it's a bit out of place. Enjoy your +1 'Plays well' regardless I hope True. I like some sense of immersion, and also the fact that you can't just spam the left mouse button without having to worry about friendlies being in the way. As I said, everyone can decide for themselves how much immersion is worth.

There been previous claims of people who did not get their pearls when thinking they completed the mission, because they took the XP from the personal results screen ( which includes premium/flags/bonuses ), and WG staff confirmed that the XP requirements are for raw base experience. I can not say I noticed unlocking the weekly XP mission with a to low XP game, didn't notice it myself, and I find it highly unlikely you are the only one / the first and only one who comes on the forum to say it isn't working as intended. Especially in this stage of the project, others surely should have noticed the same.

Still remember all the people claiming 10M was WAY WAY to high a goal for the EU playerbase I thought 25th as well, there is a post from MrConway somewhere in this thread...

SkollUlfr, on 08 February 2016 - 12:14 AM, said: that might be matter if emotional states changed game mechanics or remotely answered questions about them. as it is, they are irrelevant. you made a claim about how the game works, its up to you to clarify, not for me to 'listen and believe' on the basis of 'just because'. Alright, this time you can ignore my signature and I'll repeat: the smoke from the chimney is at different angles indicating the currently selected speed governor setting.

You're actually making sense here Yes I can see where you're coming from, friendly ramming damage is almost non existent but that might be more to prevent grieving. The only real downside to no friendly gun damage would be that an ally who is now brawling with an enemy at really close range sometimes require you to hold your shots or risk damaging him and paying the fine ( or worse ), and removing this would lower the immersion. How much that immersion is worth can differ for everyone. Contrary to popular believe, avid offender have been banned in the past and will be banned in the future. How well the automated system detects and flags them is also not the subject of this thread and venturing in criticism about it specifically will derail this topic so I rather not continue down that line.

I bet he will like to see that quoted
-
So you don't trust me, well that ends the discussion here and now.
-
But torpedoes are such an easy example. And it would make no sense to allow friendly damage for torps and not for guns. Just don't shoot when you're exchanging spit paint.
-
He has a point though which I won't deny, however statistically it is off no relevance when talking about player group as a whole. For each individual player, there can always be some deviations, and as such it's not at all true that every 60% wr player is better than every 57% wr player. However, when that gap grows bigger, the likeliness of it being dependent on wims off the MM system diminishes rapidly. edit: Almost forgot, not only the wr gap but also the number of games played will influence it. The larger the amount of battles the less likely it becomes that any individual player is getting 'shafted' by the MM any more then any other player.

Only if the 10m is reached, if not you're not getting anything. But it looks like getting 10m would not be a problem.

But everyone should be able to be held credible for what they say or what they want, and for this one needs some background information. You can simply not expect people to not question the agenda of people hiding their profile when they talk about anything regarding gameplay/game mechanics or certain modifications. It is not personal, trust me I don't have a grudge against you I don't even know you, but I do like to see with my own eyes the profiles of everyone who takes a stance about things related to the things I mentioned above. Anyway, I can see you are not arguing to hide any kind of performance indicators because you are afraid of being abused because you're bad. That simplifies the discussion ( hence, the need to know ). Take for example Admiral's previous proposal; if I can see that you start a lot of fires in your Mogami, and perhaps that you have a good defence ratio, I know you're going to be playing from distance with the 155's and that you have enough tactical awareness to defend the base if needed. That's valuable information, and I can not really see how I could abuse it? So you see me in a DD and I have a high base cap ratio badge and a damage badge, how would you abuse it? Go look at the warships.today general overview thread, most people here are considered excellent or very good, to an extent I was wondering who would ever get a 'bad' rating on it. Some similar overview, and then even limited with just showing in which way a player 'specializes' in his gameplay could give all the benefits of XVM and none of the drawbacks. I really like the idea, and I just want to know what you think is the weak side of it?

You misinterpreted, the smoke from the chimneys is at a different angle for every speed setting ( 1/4 2/4 3/4 4/4 ). That is how you get the speed. And while I agree it's not like it gives you the exact aim point like a certain cheat mod does, but you do already have access to speed indication. Also, if you are not sure, use ranging shots ( just as irl ;) ). edit: RedStorm1, on 07 February 2016 - 09:03 PM, said: I only have more than twice as many games than you have! We can't tell because you're hiding your profile yet you want to talk about game balance.
-
To each their own I guess
-
Use wiki to learn most common ship speeds, most CA/CL's have quite comparable speeds, same with most BB's for specific nations. Yes, it requires extensive game knowledge, and it's the reason I miss quite a lot off shots, but that's the attraction of the game. Getting everything just handed to you is less rewarding for when you 'get it right' and obliterate that enemy cruisers on your first salvo
-
I will just do this... But... You could try listening to some others. ps. saying that anything which doesn't correspond with your world view is 'utterly stupid' says more about you then about them.
-
Replay or it didn't happen edit: and with that I mean; if you provide a replay I am sure the developers are keen to find out how this exploit works, but without a replay it will be seen as what we Dutchies call a 'Broodje aap verhaal'.

I can farm damage and k/d ratio at the expense of win rate, so to me they are not more important. You are right in one regard, I will get better w/r in division with capable players, compared to when in division with lesser players ( for me this is even more important, as capable players are so much more predictable and require less communication ). That is why for instance I rate Trigger_Happy_Dad as a far better player then his win ratio indicates, since he is a solo player which is still capable of getting high win ratio.
