Interesting topic from Reddit - "The WR Matchmaking Engine Myth" (for those who are mathematical / statistical inclined)...
mtm78 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
At least if you continue to boast about 'average joe' not being able to see what you see because you're 'too good', stop hiding that profile of yours. Until then, people will continue to laugh, and frankly some of the other stuff above is already laughable on it's own. Edit: also saying you're actually Nakitu_Michuchi would have helped a little but- 95 replies

Why cause the game with a suck MM system
mtm78 replied to Alice_With_A_Gun's topic in General Discussion
Great reroll, made the thread to brag? Complaining about 'MM being against him' 'making the game to hard to play' sporting a 68% win rate 102 battle account with multiple tier 8 premiums being played very 'competitively'. Gr8 b8 m8 I r8 8/8 -

We agree then The 'issues' need fixing, and one can 'request' WG to work on a new engine with multigpu capabilities.

I am sorry Delaci76, but when you're already linked to the origin of the thread and yet still fail to see the 'developer' tag in his posts, you should not be surprised if people start mocking the idea you bring forth when questioning if WG finds this mod legit or not. On the other hand, I've said before I do find it a cheat myself because it shows enemy DD smokes and that isn't needed imo ( gives to much of an advantage ). Seeing your own and allied DD smoke boundaries however is essential when using offensive smoke screens in USN DD's, or 'smoke and spray HE Gremmy' or 'smoke and gtfo IJN DD's'. It should however ideally be in the vanilla client, just as extended minimap ( imo ) and an option for some various crosshairs and a color blind mode. Since it's so essential to DD gameplay, and since it's 100% legal, I've decided to use it regardless of my own objections on why it shouldn't be implemented. I tried holding out, but knowing my holding out on using it would have absolutely zero effect ( other than putting myself at a disadvantage ) instead of having perhaps even only the slightest chance of influencing the change to the mod to only show boundaries for own and allied smoke screens made me give in. I will keep saying that I think the mod is not implemented 'correctly', but as long as the official stance is that the mod is 'ok' ( and hence the general population is being served this 'advantage' directly from a WG developers and the most popular modpacks ), not using it would be nonsensical.

And you know this from your whole 200 games, how incredibly good your deductive skills must be. As to your comments on nothing happening with feedback, I find this also very well argumented from a guy with one post on this forum. I know more then you do, and suggestions are being listened to. Not whines, not crying, not cursing, but well argumented feedback is being read, discussed internally and perhaps even tested if it wasn't dismissed in earlier stages. Also, I think actually MANY people expected team battles, as people been asking for COMPETITIVE play mode for a long time. And COMPETITIVE PLAY MODE does not depend on MM to put together random people. So yeah, that is why we have team battles. But hey, you off course think it offers nothing more than ranked battles was already offering. And with that, our discussion ended before it begun. gl, cheers

Should I purchase the Mikhail Kutuzov premium tier 8 ship?
mtm78 replied to gorobeasca's topic in General Discussion
This! Also, your team wouldn't like you either most likely, if that is even a concern to you. -

Yeah, lol keep believing it's so ffin widespread. Btw, if you're really '' to good" you should be able to carry your team just by keeping all the enemies focused on you for 20 minutes. That screenshot btw proofs nothing.- 95 replies

Yeah, space flight day, no man why do I have to share it, I'm not a human space farer. Martian day sounds so much more fitting in my opinion, or, even 'Marvin the Martian' day as I am unique even amongst my fellow Martians -

As I am colorblind I can't see the difference without using blue for AP. If you have proper eyesight you can, since there is a distinct difference between HE and AP in vanilla ( or so I'm told... ) Could just as well ask WG to implement a proper color blind mode ;)

Nuernburg is a joke. Heck everything in the German tree suffers. Everything.
mtm78 replied to ApesTogetherStronK's topic in Cruisers
TA on Kamikaze means he can't stealth torp, so I guess he either didn't have it or you deserve to eat those torps if he did as there was a spotted DD a few KM from your ship -
He explained pretty clearly the pink ship started the match shooting an ally, nothing to do with 'unfriendly torpedo's'. As to division restrictions; the argument in WoT has always been that the total 'weight' of the team was always within certain limits, but with WoWs afaik all ships in a division are weighed as the heaviest one and no matching is done afterwards. I might be wrong, the new 'sandbox' mm has gotten a few explanations which I haven't read fully or didn't remember completely, but this is how I think it is. And as such, the argument that team's aren't penalized due to these mismatched divisions can not be used, which imo leads to position where not doing anything is ill conceived.

Maybe you should have done some research before spending so much money, BW engine never supported SLI or CF. You can't fix what never been there in the first place. You can add something, sure, but if you buy something ( or into something ) and only afterwards start complaining about things you could have known beforehand, no one will feel sorry for you.
-
Uhm what would you rather give your broadside, a BB which been spamming HE the whole game, or a BB which been shooting AP at broadsiding cruisers/battleships?
-
Yeah but I got Fubuki and 12km with the skill would be fine but I don't want to spend gold for retraining since I can't play Kamikaze because the skill removes the ability to stealth torp ( that was why I mentioned it ).

Don't think he did. Don't think it will be long before this one is vukked for the same reason as the previous one. Would be nice if he/she would finally read the rule book, but I wouldn't advice anyone to hold his breath edit: btw, I feel discriminated, anyone know when it's Martian's day perhaps? -
4-5 DD's per team is actually close to the 'desired' amount especially in mid tiers as Omaha / Murmansk / Marblehead / Furutaka to some extent but also Kuma / Phoenix / Cleveland / Aoba are all way better suited to handle mid tier DD's with 7km torpedo range then high tier CA's are able to counter top tier DD's with 15 - 20km torpedo range. Not that the range is the primary issue, it's the ability of the CL's to evade torpedo's themselves coupled with the relatively low damage of the torpedo's at those tiers ( compared with a Shima torp taking 1/2 the HP of my Zao ). This is why top tier cruisers is rumored to gain radar This is ofc just my opinion. I never had issues handling DD's in the mid tiers, if I died ( like last time I played.. ) I did enormously stupid things myself, the enemy got lucky, or I didn't pay enough attention ( which actually falls under 'doing something stupid' ). Also, I almost got the money to buy Kageroo and I got 4 captain points to spend but I am holding off on it.. why you ask? Well because torpedo acceleration sucks on tier 5 dd's Maybe I will hold out on TA and keep on going for the concealment expertise, though the long range torps with torpedo acceleration seem a very strong contender for 'best' setup imo.

Maybe more people should be vocal about the bad influence of mismatched tiers in divisions. Especially since the lower tier ships are treated as the highest tier ship, unlike WoT where afaik the MM still balances ( or tries to balance ) the total amount of points per team ( points being the worth of each tank ). I know Kostis won't like it ( and frankly, yes I also taken Umikaze in higher tier matches and almost always 'carried' the team with a lot of damage/kills and caps.. ) but for the common players tier difference is to big of an influence. And yes, sure, most IJN DD's will work in higher tier matches given they are stealth based attackers and a good captain will still be able to contribute ( sometimes massively ), but they are the only one's where this holds up.

It al depends on how you they are used. Atago's stealth and HE alpha is nice, the forward torpedo arcs ( and stealth... again ) are nice, but only if you play in a way which utilizes them. If you want to escort a BB, sure panic ability will prevent 'neat' drops but it won't kill much planes. A New Orleans would do better as escort ( MK wants to say hi, he says no one beats his AAA power ). But if you play your cruiser in support of some DD's, trying to go for DD supremacy early on by killing their DD's really fast, NO as well as MK would be useless as they would get spotted out of effective range. Atago in 11 - 10km will decimate a DD especially with allied DD's helping. I would btw take Atago in randoms, I am playing MK as well but to train captain ( until recently I had one RU captain I would use in both my RU DD's, my Imperator and my Gremmy/Murmansk. I decided to spec that captain as true DD captain now so I have to add some more captains ). Just because I like IJN CA play style much more, I like being able to have more options. And yes, MK is a totally new play style, I am nowhere as proficient in that role as I would like to believe I am in Atago. Same with the AH, imo this ship has the best guns at the tier but I will have to play quite some battles in her to get a good feel for her and even then it will be a coin toss as it would actually suit my particular play style or if I am able to adapt it to the ship and to what order. I <3 you long time The comment was meant to show that using ship lineup as prediction of battle outcome is going to be very unreliable. -

No, player skill is in the end much more influential than ship lineup. That is why you sometimes see Amagi's kicking the crap out Steve the IS7 Yamato driver captain. -
