Please, BB players, take RPF. Skills like FP and BoS are NOT NEEDED. What helps you the most is knowing where the closest ship is, that way you can go bow towards him and hit that S key. Information might be king, burning in four spots for a long time really does feel better if you have an indicator pointing to that angry smoke cloud spamming kerosine spiked HE shells your way.

They will hit/impact but will just dissapear since they are not armed yet :) Semantics I know, but 'not hitting' might also mean 'pass underneath' or something and that would be a false statement.

Server desync also possible, client displays torpedo paths but that's not always what the server decides is actually happening. Dodged some torps like that two days ago with my tier VIII RU BB, I should have hit at least two of that spread but they went straight through my stern ( and hit a Gneisenau behind me ).

CC's have a direct channel to WG staff, they get an 'all clear' through there, not through the portal. I think Flamu is just being diligent, there have been screw ups before with office A saying other things as office B right

Problem is that most of those also suffer from reverse dunning kruger, because they are so good they can't be trusted with their attributed amount of skill needed in any ship/class. This is a generic comment, not indicating I think you're wrong about RTS carriers. Playing CV's was not something I enjoyed, maybe because my PC is quite old and it might just be rougher to micro everything if even on decent PC's one of the issues with RTS was that the engine couldn't handle the input well enough, and I also was quite abysmal in them. I remember I quit playing the class when I realized there were a couple of matches in a row where I was the reason my team lost, and I did not enjoy that realization. Ofc, I could have tried to git gud, I've failed in other classes as well, but those felt less obvious. Then I needed plane kills for my ARP campaign and enemy CV wasn't feeding my cruisers so I switched to playing AS Bogue Again, not making my team very happy, but I got my plane kills and sold her again. Actually it was a lot easier in CV to do bad, you were always competing with just one other guy really ( or two before they limited high tier CV''s ) so if that guy was better you're always putting your team at disadvantage. Thing is tho, that doesn't matter, what matter was the influence of the guy who was better. Sadly I don't think this changed much, and CV influence still outweighs other classes or even more as late game good CV can project across map unlike destroyer for instance ( better as before due to noobtube rocket planes, which is at least for the less skilled people their crutch to being influential ). This. Someone tried to cheer me up yesterday by letting me farm some planes in a training room..... but even shooting down 50+ planes in a Huanghe, yes I can defend myself, yes I can shoot down a lot of strikes, yes before I got to distracted and did ONE wrong evasion bleeding all my speed I was taking nearly no damage, but I had to dance like crazy. And while the CV might argue he spend the entire game on me, it also meant I couldn't do anything else. And were there 11 other enemies, my movements would have been punished hard, either having to stop dodging the planes or taking damage from surface ships. If I am in a DD herassing a BB, he can ignore me and use his dcp + heal to mitigate my HE+fire dmg, while he is still playing the game and engaging other enemies. If I'm in a BB and CV attacks me, I don't evade because I know the dmg can be handled by the hp pool, unlike trying to turn and exposing broadside ( unless very late game when BB player has full belly off 'enjoyable gameplay experience' and WG allows CV to finally kill one ). But if I'm in a ( esp mid tier ) cruiser, and CV wants you, you can't ignore planes and get struck as you don't have the hp pool to do so, and you can't actually evade without giving one of the other 11 your broadside at some point. If you're in a DD, and you don't have smoke and you get spotted, there is no mitigation possible ( I am not talking about attack squad alone, which you can turn into with your AA off each pass so he spots you at the last moment ). Am I seeing this completely wrong, or am I playing World of 'the dev's think everyone likes' Battleships And as to padding, I got a lot of screenshots with accounts with ~50% wr which when playing CV's are reaching well above 60%. Far more as I been in matches where I see CV's performing on their own skill level.

Ahh ok I guess we're in agreement that Smolensk has the highest damage potential of all the light cruisers, but that it's not an 'I win' button ( I still think of OP as revering to win rate / influence ). But this applies to more division combinations, Smolensk is just 'flavor of the month' due to being the best at it right now. A smoked up Wooster / Harugumo / Friesland ( just to name something else where people sad the HE DPM was to high... turns out it's not really an issue ) are all potential nuisance. Anyway, nothing will be done about it anyway, not until IFHE rework I would assume at least.

Radar planes = Capping planes = Putting out fires = buff to BB's again ( ) Plane dropped smoke screens = Epic way to troll your team so they have no vision at all while enemy has a spotter looking at all your ships without them being able to shoot back I just want CV's to go after the subs, there is no way I'm risking any hp in my DD's chasing cirlces I got ships to shoot and torpedo and caps to contest.... not guard CV's while they contest caps. And radar on planes is the next buff to battleships, like we need that crap. Well according to WG we do ofc, battleships are just to hard to play right.

I'm not a sub, I'm a dom I guess we will be visiting this thread when subs come as well, didn't the 'support line' of CV's include tasks like dropping sonar buoys...

Ofc sample is way to small to form definitive conclusions, but the same can be said from the 8 games in division with 100% win rate then. For a preliminary determination, it is not far fetched to state that you can do the same or even more dmg outside of a division, this means you have to take more risk yourself to get into positions where your damage has the same effect, or you play a bit more cautious meaning you're mostly farming only enemies which make a mistake, you're not forcing mistakes as you can in a division. Even the best players in a Smolensk I don't expect to break north of say 65% as solo win rate in 100+ battles. And there are other ships I think which did ( meh I shouldn't point to old CV's but can't help it )

Nah I think I read it right, you were saying that you were just as useful for your team and I highly doubt that. Useful for team is only measurable in win rate, not in your damage farm.

lmao so you ARE the kind which thinks it's dmg that is important? 1k difference in dmg and 50% difference in wr, damage means nothing in being 'usefull' ^^

making up more lies I see, as no one said your opinion is worthless because your hit ratio is bad, that's again you playing the victim No he said, and I'll repeat: YOUR HIT RATIO IS LOW. In a thread you make about aiming, where you claim that aiming seems to be to easy, but at the same time to hard for you as you're not having decent games. So not only did he not 'stat shame' you, he actually pointed out a fallacy in your believe that aiming is 'to easy' and still you can't really make it work. Which is in the interest of educating you about how the game mechanics work. Stop playing victim you snowflake If I make a thread about 'how to hit my torpedoes' then talk about how I aim, and someone tells me that it's apparently not working really well since my actual hit ratio is really bad for instance, that guy is not stat shaming me he is pointing out a fact. And it's a starting point for anything else which follows. Anything which would HELP ME actually fix my issue, has to start with recognizing the issue. Your issue is that your hit ratio is low. Look in the mirror, think about this: I asked for help with something in relation to the game.. then someone told me I am doing specific to getting decent results, wrong. Which leads to having minimal impact on games since you are mostly just playing punching bag. But instead of accepting this and trying to work on it, you go on about how the aiming system works in way 'we just don't know' ( hint: maybe you don't, but others might ) and are calling the guy who mentioned your hit ratio 'toxic' as well as me, with your constant personal attacks trying to describe me as being 'one of those' and then you go on your merry crusade. But after explaining this for the last time, I'll repeat what I said earlier: How bout that!

When your hydro is out, my Shima torps seem to disagree, and even with hydro on sometimes those 15 wide walls are just not really avoidable. I killed quite a few of them already. Problem is getting in position to do so, as most Smolensk players are fairly aware that they are the most vulnerable while in their smoke. Downside is the low hp to start with and having no torpedo protection at all. Also, I think for general balance, we can repeat that it's damage potential is to high, but there is already a rework in the making for IFHE so I don't see the point.

Well those are harder to play since you don't have the smoke + railgun arcs. Nope I like light cruisers. I just think balance between CL and CA is the opposite of what it should be. And yes, I rather fight Wooster or Colbert then Smolensk, even if just because I might be able to dodge the rain from those while dodging Smolensk is not really possible. I'm mostly saying you're the minority. I see so many of them being played so bad, just trying to get those max dmg games but totally ignoring the game isn't just about doing damage. But hey that's how a lot of people seem to think, even so called good players sometimes will pick their own farming over doing something which would risk their own ship but would improve chances of winning. This is my impression as well. The only times I really find myself 'shut down' is when there is a Smolensk and a radar cruiser working together and they block the caps I need to get in my DD. But you can do that with a number of different ships as well.

Luckily most players are not good, and will use Smolensk just to pad their avg. dmg. Sucks to be the one they do it on, but it doesn't mean they can suddenly win games on their own. That being said I do think CL influence on battle atm is to high, but we're getting IFHE rework so no point in complaining about that now I think.
