Tirpitz is played by much more people not because BB's are their mainstay or they do well in them, as it is with Imperator imo, but by people who bought it because of the name, or because German. Imperator Nicolai is a name I never heard of ( as a ship ), Tirpitz/Bismarck are actually 'famous'. They attract totally different crowds.

I am in that list for wr with Imperator, but my WR with Arkansas Beta is higher...

Shiet man, I have Shimakaze unlocked and almost ready to buy her and they will remove my glorious torp spamming ability <serious>though it does need work, games with 5 shimakaze's per team are not much fun not even for the shimakaze's themselves. But 'other IJN DD's' are FINE. Kagero has nice torps yes, but it has a 2x4 setup and does not need ANY nerfs, if they do then Fletcher needs nerfs even more!<serious>

Imperator has had tier 6 matchmaking from the start, but yes that was a balancing factor. Which only helps her, since higher tier games have more HP to go around so Imperator can do more damage

No. Spend a bit more and get MK when it's in the shop again. Or yes, if you want an USN premium. But for gameplay reasons, the answer is clearly 'hell no'.

Dispersion is governed not only by visible value in port but a sigma value which for Imperator is very good, afaik this affect the grouping of shells and yes it is pretty 'competitive' in that regard. Though if I'm not mistaken the other BB's with very good sigma value's are those with also triple turrets. My comment was not aimed at dispersion itself but more about the 'per gun' performance which isn't that much out of place for a tier 4 BB in my experience. Myogi has the highest oomph shells ( but half the guns ). The USN BB's have same caliber shells and same number of guns but get higher DPM and faster shell velocity because Imperator has a slightly higher alpha because of heavier shells. So again, I don't think the per gun performance is what makes it special, it's the 3x3 forward facing turrets making angling and target-acquisition so much easier than in any of it's competitors. Basically I think Imperator is an IS7, just point bow towards enemy, angle slightly ( just enough to clear your forward facing guns when you're loaded, shoot and angle back ) and shoot stuff in the face. edit: I am looking forward to some of the RN and FR BB's with interesting looking armament arrangement, I think they would behave quite the same.

I would like to know how to do that against NM's, Fuso ok sure no problem but New Mexico's are my nightmare ( unless they don't angle aka nubs which gladly still happens a lot because "ow it's a tier 4 who cares let's give him a flat broadside it will be ok" ). New Mexico when angled has crazy armor, enough to bounce most Imperator AP shots at the hull ( which is why I shoot superstructure when angled correctly ). Am I doing it wrong? I mean yes I can get > 10k damage sometimes shooting superstructure that way, and yes the penetration is enough, and yes it is OP imo but that is because of trollish armor and 3x3 forward facing turrets not so much the guns themselves?

In your case. Mogami tier VIII battles 175 avg damage 43.9k Myoko tier VII battles 91 avg damage 45.5k Most people expect their average damage to go UP with each tier not down?
