And you're still giving stars for losing -> hence no incentive to play for a victory at all. Bad system is bad, and stays bad as long as it's giving a selfish out to people at the expense of team goals. It's bad enough already that some people actually are already playing to not lose one, but that is still not as profound as it would be if you could gain one only by being first ( or second ) in the losing team. Even a system where XP gain is 'more fair' eg where CA's get a bigger boost then now for killing DD's, where BB's get a big XP boost if they actually use their W key instead of snipe, you're running into issues. Because, a Zao doesn't play like a Des Moines or like an Hindenburg. So, 'fixing' XP gain amongst different variant of the same class is already hard. A Pensacola is much better suited for escorting BB's and providing AAA then a Myoko is. But the Myoko is capable of supporting the DD's from closer to them because it isn't instantly spotted. The only clear 'thing' which you can reward is capping. And that is done, and many don't like it. But, let s face it, the gamemode, if you want to win, is revolving around controlling the cap points, for which DD's play a pivotal role. The extent it influences behavior in game is imo nowhere near as big as with a system where the first ( or first two ) gain a star based on their 'playing the team' instead of playing for the victory with the team. Basically, if I play for the victory I sometimes 'take one for the team' but I would never do such a thing in the counter proposed system because I would be screwing my own chances of scraping out as much XP as I could. That is the simplest example I can give but I hope it is also one which in all it's simplicity is just impossible to dismiss?

These two sentences don't match the same situation, if I can lose knowing I still gain stars being first in the team I will first play for being first in the team. This is especially going to affect DD's which during the start of a game take the most risks trying to secure cap points ( let's just not, let's keep stealth firing those cruisers and BB's and rack up some damage that way instead... ). Basically, as you hinted to (which I didn't quote ) the XP distribution alters gameplay. I know it sucks having crap teams, and I know people want to be 'rewarded' even if they lose. But you can't have contests in contests, it would ruin teamplay ( if possible ).

We got a Dutch language channel on the public teamspeak server, but I haven't seen it being used once Most of us all speak decent enough English, and since that is the international language of choice we just hang out in the English section ( which is also the most populated ). Would be nice though, sailing around and calling everyone Oliebollen en Appelflappen instead of Tomato's and Potato's on teamspeak -
Stick with the BB's, provide air cover. Use HE against long range targets, switch to AP only if the target is easy to hit ( steady course, broadside ) or if they are really close. Get demolition expert as 4 point skill. A significant part of the damage I do with Yorck is with fire damage. I rather engage battleships at range while supporting allied battleships, then go ahead with the other CA's and support the DD's engaging enemy DD's and CA's. The Yorck can kill DD's at range pretty good though due to the good HE shell characteristics, but I find it a lot less suited against other CA's ( where for instance, Myoko is much stronger ). During later stages you can close the distance, if needed, but Yorck imo is the ultimate tier 7 battleship escort.

Seems our individual performance in the Yorck is as different as our opinions on them ( doh! lol ).

Sides of ships have better torpedo protection ( as a general rule of thumb ) then bow and stern, and chances of flooding is also higher with bow and stern.

Cause of the bug is unknown, sorry. I never had the issue, others do, there is no known variable to blame

Open preferences.xml and look for <minimapOptions> Replace the section with this:

https://eu.wargaming.net/support/kb/articles/596 Read the article, download WGCheck and next time you have connection issues run the diagnostics and include it in a ticket with support But many people were having connectivity issues, it seemed like a hamster issue.

Even more, my Yorck is my highest WR tier 7, higher then Myoko, higher then Nagato, higher then Blyskawica. all of which are considered really strong. edit: I lied, Nagato is higher But Yorck is absolutely a nice ship. Really good range, potent HE for burning stuff, and excellent torpedo angles for those YOLO moments.

qft.

I Like Yorck a whole lot more then Nurnberg as well, but hey I am not human right

Heresy, you can't replace Ectar, you could only wish to follow in his footsteps

I actually don't report them right away, if you load in a bit late hey it can happen. I been late into battles as well, being in queue for some time thinking I can take a short sanitation break only to come back seeing I got a battle right at the time I took my eyes off the screen. But if we're 10 minutes in and you still haven't moved, especially if the fight is close and it would tip favorably with the AFK bot actually present, yeah sorry don't count on my sympathy's. It's btw really funny, usually the moment you ask in chat to look at a player who is afk ( don't ask for reports, just point out to team he is afk they will report him on their own ) a lot of times they suddenly start moving. They still get a report then btw, don't afk in a team based multiplayer game, there is no excuse for being a douche and screwing your team. This applies to those who are AFK from the start for prolonged times. If someone goes AFK during a match I usually never report, their house could be on fire, their kid might have fallen down the stairs or the mailmen might be doing the dirty with his wive upstairs. You just never know..

AFK - bot report from me. Don't like it, don't press battle when you're not going to play. edit: ps 'Plays poorly' is ignored, doesn't even influence karma the other report options do. Also, it's a 'wonky translation' it has nothing to do with bad players ( wish it did.. I even use it to 'report' terrible players which cause me to loose games because I know it doesn't do anything but let's me blow off some steam ) but with unsportsmanlike conduct ( pushing allies in torpedo's / out of smoke / into enemy gun volley / screwing over team by ignoring game objectives and so on.. ). Also, every report is -+ karma, you don't need two. You only get a notification in port if you were reported more then twice in a single battle. And yes, people have gotten automatic chat bans through report system, not sure about game bans ( think only team damage tracking system could do this, not player reports, but I'm not 100% sure ).

They ARE retaining it already, Warspite will keep her current 7.2km secondary build. edit: now the patch been postponed we don't know anything for sure about which changes will and which will not occur, but since they already gave Warspite the checkered flag being an exception with having a very popular secondary build, it would make no sense to change that.
-
Why? Warspite's range never been changed.
-
Lol but I am not playing now so I couldn't look at her in her full glory I'll be sailing her tomorrow though
-
Yubari will get a buff next patch in the form off a new module, and it needed it ( not sure if it even helps enough ). Gremmy is love, Gremmy is life! Get a good captain on her and you can stealth fire from 9.9km Sims has a very high XP multi, you will earn a lot off xp with it ( but if you want to use that for anything but captain training, you need to spend real money/doubloons ). It's also pretty good at domination games, and pretty useless in normal battles. The reason is that in domination the battles are forcefully being held at shorter ranges ( contesting cap zone's ) and Sims shines in knife fighting other DD's, and not in long range engagements. For the tier I's, well they are tier I's
-
I actually want that cammo on my Gremmy now...
-
So you're implying it's been nerved so much it's no longer balanced? I must be an pretty exceptional player in my Warspite to get comparable results to all my other ships

Ow yes, it was balanced back then but now it's not because.. Ow wait, I only bought it recently and it's still fine. Also why did you quote that post as it's not really relevant to what you're writing, or did you forget to add a point based on your opinion?
