Don't forget they made the hull taller so the frontal fuel tank weakspot was easier to hit
-
Don't they still claim they didn't directly nerf Type59? Model was made bigger, taller ( easier to shoot frontal weakspot ), the gun changed ( arguably for the better due to better pen but the on the move handling went down a lot imo ), and most importantly, WG introduced premium ammo for credits. As to WoWs, if you check the new MM chart for this patch, some low tier premiums lost their protected matchmaking, while others ( Imperator... ) lost their extended matchmaking.

Yorck is a hidden gem, I did quite well in mine. Just forget everything the previous GE cruisers teached you and be an HE spamming nuisance. Only use AP on close range targets, and don't forget about the huge difference in lead when switching.

I took her out for a spin, wasn't the most eventful match but still ok I didn't lose a turret once and I was on pretty low hp when the game ended which is a good sign.
-
I logged on myself and started a game, other then the queue looking a bit messed up ( it showed no ships waiting for a battle, then immediately threw me into a match ) there were no issues for me.
-
You're the second poster I read who can not start a game atm, which indicates there is likely a server problem. Nothing you can do in that case but wait for WG to feed the hamsters properly.

If you're in a division and the battle button doesn't work, try to make someone else division leader. This has fixed the inability to start a battle for me and others many times. ( Maybe there is a server issue atm, I am not sure I am not logged in ). -
You mean the tutorial? It gives you tips on how to play the game, I don't think it gives any actual rewards other then that but I admit I haven't done it since it was added to the client long after I started playing. Also, don't you need to complete it anyway to unlock the next level ( pve content )?

I think the 'better icons on ship carrousel' mod sometimes removes that button ( just as ship research buttons in the tech tree progression ). If you don't see the button do as Sho_ said and run the game in safe mode.

This is not really what you said the first time but yes, there is a degree of animosity versus PVE only players which complain about game balance. This is because PVE is a> easy b> doesn't adhere to the same balance as PvP. The AI is just not representative of what you will see in PvP, so it's not that strange if people playing PvP do not agree with comments made on balance by people who play PVE. The problem, and I admit I find it hard sometimes as well, is that the comments should be seen as based on PVE only and not on both PVE and PVP, that way the PvP 'elite' ( as they ofc think of themselves ) can not disagree with / or be dismissive about anything you could ever say. PVE is a big enough part of the game to be taken serious, but the gameplay is so different then from randoms that it's almost a different game. Well the ships are the same, but it ends there. Anyway what I am trying to say: don't get discouraged by people who are overly negative, they will get sanctioned if they break the rules which are in place to provide a fun and helpful environment on this forum. And I do not believe that there are so many toxic people around, I see more incidental 'freudian slips' then malintent; I also think there is a problem with people who think they should be tampered to. If you comment on something, expect criticism. That goes for everyone, I see just as much 'dismissive behavior' towards good players for stating certain opinions then towards 'lesser' ( in the sense of having lower statistical performance ) players.- 130 replies

Those are some generous sites I think Either way it's irrelevant to the discussion no ;) I still stand by the fact that mostly good players have grinded through the line, indicating factors are total player count who own one and played games in the ship in certain time periods. So, in order to not hit the ship to hard. A HP nerf might be the difference between being able to play aggressive throughout the match or having to play passive in late match because you're on such low health, which at least won't change the ships combat capabilities in itself. Such a change would not be game breaking overall and can be rectified when/if global statistics indicate a need.

But they are often the only indications one has, because the times people actually post something complete enough to base an opinion ONLY on their post content is close to zero. Report them each and every time. But also consider if this keeps happening to you, maybe there is more then one aspect to it. Got any proof?- 130 replies

This is a hard subject, for me personally, as I am fairly black and white. But yes, there is some grey area where experience in a certain class/ship or even tier is not needed to be able to form a valuable opinion. Usually this means skill, yes: being good at the game allows you to have valid opinions about more subjects then you have direct contact with, because of your skill which is just another term for having insight/understanding of game mechanics. This isn't a twitch based shooter, people who are better than other people are so because they understand the game better, not because they got better reflexes. If you want to argue that understanding the game isn't the biggest factor in one's validity regarding their opinions then fine, but I don't expect you will find much support there ( unless from players who actually claim to have valuable opinions when lacking either direct experience or a certain level of understanding of the game ). The same applies to your comment about global stats being valid to use in balancing discussions, but personal stats ( stats != results, it includes also games played in which classes and tiers ) only being used to discredit people and not to weight the value of their opinions. The redeeming factor of people's opinion which lack the former ( understanding or experience ) is limited to general perception of the game.- 130 replies

No but the one's with a max tier VII ship were Don't try to twist my words. And yes, someone who never played anything but one class has less valid opinions on other classes, they don't matter much since they don't have the full perspective. Totally dismissing them from the start, nah some good players can actually have valid opinions when not having played a class. But in general, yes, opinions need to be based on something substantial. edit: Ow and btw GREAT example: shima nerved to death ( look at global stats now ) because all the whining. They were full of themselves, full enough to get WG to react to something in a way which wasn't needed at all. But hey, you probably want to claim the nerf was totally justified and there was nothing else which could have been done- 130 replies

Earl_of_Northesk, on 30 July 2016 - 07:10 PM, said: Are we sure plebs aren't already there mtm? This "good players play them" doesn't satisfy me really. Because I'm very good myself and I know literally no viable solution to counter a well played Khaba. That shouldn't be the case. Counter to a well played Kaba is getting your cruisers to focus him down, teamplay, focus fire, deny him is angles of retreat ( or at least make it harder for him ). Most teams just let them run wild, and they have high dpm so you should never just let them dwindle down your team. But yea same as the old Shima's, you could counter them with teamwork. Proper screening from your allied DD's would do wonders. But sadly WG can not buff player competence so they nerved Shima to death. And yes, looking at the player count and how the line progresses I am convinced they aren't there already. ps. I would never say from myself I am a very good player and I am certainly no worse then you. edit: seems I am to modest, very good is exactly the matching classification according to some stats sites
-
Better players playing them for one. And yes, second line gun boat works wonders if driven by competent captains. Wait till the plebs get it, the averages will plummet. And see previous post, dmg isn't the only thing which makes a 'good' destroyer.
-
And it was already mentioned why, most likely, this is. It's more an issue with people just not dealing with them correctly then the ships themselves. Nerfing yet another DD because playerbase sucks at dealing with it is not what I would like WG to do. Also, maybe WG will work towards what's been requested by so many: assisted/spotting damage. That would surely buff the stealth based DD's and give them a metric of usefulness which is currently not being displayed.

I got Ognevoi in port, it's full upgraded but I got 7k xp on her with 61k to go for kiev. I just did not enjoy playing it so it's been sitting in port for a long time. I will do as you say and start the grind again, hopefully I will enjoy it more this time Udeloi and Kharb are the real pearls afaik, but I'll be able to pass judgement only after I got them I was going to compare Kiev with my Blys but then I realized that the comparison is pretty flawed. Blys can play the normal DD role, it has workable concealment and stealth torp capabilities. Kiev is a light cruiser without a citadel.
-
I don't even have Kiev but I am looking forward to the line from Kiev upwards
-
Wait, so 'golden' ships ( guess you mean premium? ) are exempt from balancing? Also, please explain why it is not balanced, I mean we are not all as smart or up to date as you perhaps. I think the last. The VMF DD line is not easy to grind.
-
This always happens and will keep happening as long as ship models and maps change between game versions. The replay file is a series of timestamps with object and properties, it does not contain the actual meshes/models or textures. And while your idea sounds nice to backup any and all changes, I don't want to end up with a client which has gb's of space dedicated to old meshes/textures just for replays.

Show us on the model where the little DD touched your ship please.
