Pretty much what Dropsiq said, Omaha is probably the best cruiser in the USN line other then Cleveland ( well in performance perhaps, but certainly not in fun for me at least ). First of all you talk as if you only played a few games, and thus are in a stock Omaha. NEVER, ever, use stock ships to form an opinion on them, and NEVER use free XP to unlock ships. You need that free xp to unlock the needed modules ASAP. With Omaha, that is fire control and hull upgrade ( range + rudder shift changes are the most important ). An elite Omaha is to put it mildly, very competitive. As to what to do: lead the charge or stick with the BB's? You're playing tier 5 and you got no AAA barrage, escorting BB's is not what makes you a valuable asset to your team. Your damage output to DD's and other cruisers is what makes you valuable. To make that work, learn the maps and look at team compositions, predict where enemy will be showing up and most importantly: don't rush into bad engagements. Omaha is a good ship when it comes to dishing out the damage, not in tanking damage, it's rather regarded as a floating citadel. Don't give broadsides not even to other cruisers ( unless their captains don't know when to use AP ), always angle, stay at the max range you feel you can land a high enough hit ratio to make the salvo's count ( you should learn to land effectively at just below your max range, that is for instance the only way you will have a chance of living throughout prolonged engagements with BB's. At your max range you can impact track their salvo's and evade a lot more damage then when you would be for instance within 10km or something to a battleship ).

Superior strategic planning and execution ( I played it with B hull btw, so that might explain it a bit ) Well either that or I 'got lucky' ;) I am struggling with the Hipster, which is weird as I actually expected to do so much better in it ( when meeting others in game, I sometimes got punished so hard I just might have overestimated the Hipster overall ).. It punishes broadside cruisers but I lost quite a lot of 1v1's with New Orleans and Atago if their captains angled properly

You can't expect that from them and not apply the same to every over performing ship in the game ( as in: why don't you ask people who own an Imperator to 'consider the rest' who don't have one ). Not that I think such a request will get any foothold, it's like asking Muricans to stop consuming fast-food

German ships, and in particular German Cruisers, are very strong. Seriously, a very powerful and skill intensive line.

AgentOrange is usually combined in a pack, as 'stand alone' it offers no gameplay advantages due to the spotting/rendering mechanics of WoT. Infact, not knowing where brushes/foliage is is actually harmful for your own play as you will not be able to use bushes ( or double bush ). What I think makes those packs illegal are more the 'laserpointer from gun barrel'. minimap with destructed scenery and reload indicators and so on, as all of those actually impact gameplay. AgentOrange alone does not give the player any information he wouldn't have otherwise ( infact, like I pointed out, it removes information beneficial to his own possible plays ), enemies are still rendered at the exact same time as without that 'mod'. And I don't think there are many people around who would fail to shoot to bushes in WoT since it's so nice it draws outlines on tanks you can hit. This is just my opinion though

Which mechanic does it change? Nothing in relation with spotting is affected, the only thing this does is remove 'distance fog' from the rendering output. This does not qualify as a cheat afaik since it is only cosmetical

I don't know, I am going to assume the same tools as available on RU cluster are available here, and that the procedure of manually banning aimbot users was also followed here. It is just always been the case that WG ( EU ) never was very communicative about this, as to protect the privacy of those they banned. Anyway, I posted this because I think this might be a chance to be open about the numbers ( I don't want WG to give out player names of banned players, I don't see the benefit really ) as it would indicate a> WG's commitment against cheaters b> WG's level of competence of catching them c> it would give a nice indication as to if 'top players' are getting banned disproportionately compared with the rest?

So.... 4% of the 'top rated' players on EU RU server have been banned for using an aimbot according to what I just read from BabyKim. I find this figure both surprising, disgusting and troublesome. I've never heard of actual figures for EU cluster being given, but WG surely has this number. I am very optimistic EU behaves better in this regard, but in this one case I think it might actually be nice if WG actually just told us we are edit: RU cluster (fishpalm)

You don't need a mod for training room's, there is a work around. Close game, edit preferences.xml and look for <gametype> line, change it to TrainingBattle so it looks like this: Save file, open game, button will show you got PVE mode selected but don't worry, press battle and you're in the training room lobby edit: yesterday there was no training session as such due to only instructors being present. This is fully my own fault though as I gave a very short heads up time, next sessions will have at least a week prior notice.
