    Idk man, I wasn't sure how to interpret this. After 2.5k games players should know about speedboost. And the wording... a rare case... when he just listed the actual ship speeds. Anyway, answered I guess. edit: it takes less effort to go to wiki and look up the ship, which I'm sure is listed to have speedboost available. then to make that post.

    No, for anything conclusive you would need to track groups of players of different skill levels and analyze a significant portion of their team rosters MM is giving them. Any dataset not large enough to be conclusive would be useless.

    Lul, REEwork failed, CV's still king ( those not dumb enough to fly into flak ) and ONLY battleships benefit, yet reroll claims that every CV player knew how to cross drop DD's ( gladly this wasn't the case ). Great formatting again man, very readable. Mhm... listen to El2 who I know to be an excellent player who knows his mechanics and can explain every step of his reasoning, or .... CV still king... just BB's are less affected, since no more dev strikes. But thanks for letting me up my post count again, would you like a nice picture to go with it? And the DD which got cross dropped... well if you see a competitive CV player on other flank, perhaps don't try and go alone... just like people advice now. Since if you stayed with a DFAA cruiser/destroyer, cross dropping suddenly becomes pretty tough for most carrier players.... And the BB which died in first strike, GOOD RIDDENS. He was not paying attention to minimap and forming up with a DFAA cruiser, why should we care about babies which think their BB's should be able to survive being attacked by carriers on his own.... ow crap, that's what REEWork was intended to fix right... now BBabies can feel like and ignore their cruisers plea for support, they don't need no pesky cruisers to defend them from CV's no more....

    Ow really? Is that why you made double posts with your 'tournament API' link, even forgetting to fix the formatting so it's actually readable? Nice job man. You play a LOT of battleships don't you? I wonder what your old account looked like.

    No it won't unless you get a 'sample' size of 100's of battles... from different players, so you can compare. And that would still likely not be conclusive. You would need to have actual data compromising of the MM environment for lots of players, from all skill levels.

    True, but calling it banter classifies it as 'irrelevant' and while I know this is true, it makes this whole forum / community thing a bit of a moot point. Banter does not cover the reasoning and arguments displayed in this discussion from a lot of different sources and different angles. The REEwork is one thing, but the total new game by trying to shoehorn submarines.. ow man. I did not grind my ships, pay for premium time, bought premium ships, did closed testing, participated in supertesting, and now have all those 'investments' turned into poo because you can't trust a publisher/developer to keep their word... I was talking with someone in Alpha testers lounge on ts, haven't spoken to him in ages, and first thing we thought about when talking about current state of affairs, were all the discussions we had in the past about how submarines don't fit in the game. I won't go on and repeat the same arguments over and over, but I can say without lying or fronting that I will not spend a dime on any WG product again if they devalue all my investments in WoWs that way.

    But it is still the best way to mitigate damage, since I have 2.5km air detection that 500 meter depending on angle will enable some mitigation. Having my flak on means nothing if a good player will evade it anyway, it just gives them a longer attack run meaning I have almost zero chance to mitigate a substantial amount. It's a lil bit more as banter, about REEwork and certainly about adding submarines.

    At tier 6 I think so. But it's 26s base reload so Scharnhorst on tier 7 is probably better classified. Not to mention Scharnhorst has torpedoes which for a cruiser player might also feel comfortable, and has a more flexible turret configuration.

    Arizona is my best tier 6 battleship, but OP wants something faster so I didn't recommend it. I would sooner recommend Dunkek, it's faster and probably easier to adapt to from being a cruiser player.

    I even heard of someone who didn't understand how the tech tree worked and just kept playing the tier I without ever unlocking something. Idk if that was true btw or just some classical fake tale. I can imagine people staying in tier 3-6 or something for historical / immersion reasons mainly, but tier 1 doesn't offer anything really so people who keep playing that must have other reasons.

    I seen worse, like 20k battles at tier I. Also, I don't really think this classifies as stadpadding. I don't think this player is even aware of his/her stats.

    Dude you realise I'm not the only one who would quit the game and stop being paying loyal costumers to WG for life? WG can make their money elsewhere then :) edit: I would like subs to be added as scenario type gamemode, not pvp. What they been showing so far on their test server has only proved I'm right, and the only reason I am not entering that thread to 'discuss' submarines is because I most likely would not be able to contain my sarcasm over which type of players like what see so far.

    I do wonder when the people who disregard statistical proof and examples of how gameplay of other classes is negatively affected will stop call those who are critical 'bantering'. And subs are a joke, whoever still doesn't see right now can have this game if that joke ever get's to be the default game mode.

    I'm not fine with it at all. I work hard for my win rate with all my ships, why should it be easier with one class as with another? But I do admit people can say I am biased, I don't play CV's and I do play DD's, so my opinion on if either and if so which one should be more influential wouldn't be worth much for most people. I can pull off on average about the same win rate on cruisers, destroyers and battleships so far, if we both agree CV's are easier to be influential in, what is my effort worth in those other ships? So the toxic experience of meeting such a player which the game doesn't allow you any real counterplay for is taken for granted since it's rare? Also, while I agree he's server top, even meeting a mere average player padding his way to blue/purple in CV's is unfair and thus not good gamedesign. No other player should have such crutches.

    I think it's way to hard to deplane CV's, that's one. Then, removing influence / SKILL from DFAA influencing drop patterns, that was terrible. I have learned how I can minimize rocket plane damage reasonably well in a fast ( moving ) destroyer, except against enterprise since it has an easier aiming mechanic. I am still getting hit, but it's way more manageable. Sadly this is only true in late game where my predictable maneuvering isn't punished by enemy surface players. I mainly dislike how CV can still park squad on my head and my destroyer AA just can't shoot it down, making me perma spotted. The other major gripe I have is late game influence of CV's, still giving them ability for people to get 15% higher WR with CV's as with other classes combined ( not Padds, it's only 7% there ). I also see DD's doing stuff, but it's by far not always 'right'. You will never get rid of DD's from queue because guess what, lots of those players already moved from one class to destroyers since those don't have citadels. But you do play destroyers, don't you notice in game how much influence you are able to have on a game compared to when playing your carriers?

    I understand why you defend the only class you're performing well in, but don't you think it's a bit hypocritical to not at least try to be as influential in your own destroyers as you are in your carriers before claiming it's 'bad DD players' and not a broken CV implementation? It would make your statement a bit easier to digest. So I look forward to seeing you boost your DD win rate to the same levels as your carriers.
  19. Floofz c'mon man, don't let it get to you we had this discussion already haven't we Anyway, I did not have good results with Sinop as well but just like you low battle count. Then compare it with my Vladi win rate... and my vladi damage is no where near the level that the win rate would make some sense. Low battle count -> not enough data. Sinop was so much better as Izmail with the 3 rear turret setup, I did not sell her yet and even trained a new captain for her. I will keep playing her ( though I guess mainly after I done with the line grind, as I want to finish that and I don't play that many games ).
  20. You missed the point. Points. After 20minutes of BB's hugging islands. Well yes and no, I actually am a cruiser main, always had been at least. But abundance of battleships made the role I like ( support fire, quick reaction time and so on ) move from cruisers to gunboat destroyers. Ofc I do. That doesn't mean that battleships should not push it means they need to push smart and make use of their allies. While I will repeat that battleships are the easiest to play, they are very hard to play well. With a destroyer, the initial skill requirement is higher, and the skill ceiling is higher, in between the distribution curve is such that a good DD player has more influence on the game result as a good battleship player. But a good battleship player does not kemp island/bush when it's not needed. Again, yes and no. A lot of this sentiment is due to bad battleship players, not because of it being not possible to 'not kemp island/bush'. Or, bad destroyers in the team of the battleship which prevent the BB from making informed choices of when and where to push. I do not expect battleship players to push into DD infested waters without 'intelligence data', but that again does not imply battleships CAN NOT push. Yes, but only if the poll is public and only people with public profiles would be allowed to vote. You see, I don't really care what a bad battleship player thinks about the game, other then wishing him to 'git gud'. Bad players might claim it's torpedoes, other bad players claim it's HE spam. And BB mains might say both. But players who played all classes usually aren't that keen on making the claim that battleships atm are in a bad spot..... Even more, BB players also don't care why there are so many DD's, it because of them. Want to lower the amount of people queuing up in destroyers or he spammers, play less battleships. Many like me moved from cruisers to destroyers, or from CA's to CL's which are gud at hugging islands.

    I been told the French BB's with their focus on speed offer the most dynamic gameplay at lower tiers. Kongo is always a nice pick if you don't like slow battleships. Stay away from low tier USN. ps don't get a Scharnhorst just yet, buy one if you reach tier 7 with a silver ship, your player experience will be much better. edit: I assumed OP was a low tier player but seems he's been playing Ibuki already so that argument is mute. I recommend like the others to look at Scharnhorst.

    You the wows player who advises DD's to go hunt the CV... We both know how that works in game, DD's die and team folds because it has no more DD's to do their actual jobs. You just think it's 'fun' while I think it's toxic. Have fun, don't forget to advice people to hunt the carriers and to ignore the objectives! You called?
  23. BB's low ROF is not what prevents them from pushing. Neither are destroyers, or torpedoes or what ever excuse is used. Why is that my opinion you ask, well let me tell you about this game we played, Tears of the Dessert, Epicenter... 11BB's per team, no DD, one cruiser. Me, in all chat: great no DD's everyone meet in the middle let's brawl! I die, game was won by points. Either way, maybe, just maybe, the thing to make German BB's more popular, is to give them better secondary dispersion so they get their niche back from the recent USN ships which been added to the game. But I don't think the game needs manual fire control for secondaries. Like I said, I don't think manual secondaries would make people push more, but German BB's getting more out of their secondaries would make those move up more.

    ColonelPete is our guru and master, even if we don't agree with his posts the sheer dedication shown leaves every sane person in awe. I wanted to spam games this weekend to make up of my free premium time which isn't going to last, but turns out my flue/fever has developed into an ear infection and I don't think I'll be good at playing games now. I guess I'm also not good at forum post tho I guess you mean CV's but yeah
