No. Every time you see 'l2p' it's not because of the community but because of the guy asking the questions. More so, they are never really questions, but statements. Statements like OP made: DD's OP, nerf! Then later on he calms down a bit and that is when there is a chance of giving actual advice, but not if he starts with: don't tell me to l2p. l2p means you don't have all the knowledge required to make the best gameplay decisions ( or comment about class balance ), it is NOT an insult. But OP thinks it is. Also, OP claims DD's are OP, but he has almost exclusively played BB's. That alone makes it almost impossible to not mention: l2p, go play your counter class and learn how to deal with them by knowing their weaknesses. Every time someone asks a honest question, he will get an honest answer. But this topic wasn't a question, it was a whine. And whine topics will be met with ridicule, there is not much room for anything else. But I agree, in the eyes of a totally new player, this would not be obvious ( the difference between lacking knowledge, and a 'broken mechanic' ). One tip though: if you see such topics in gameplay, it's much more likely to be a whine topic, than if you see the same topic in the 'newcomers' area of the forum. Because people who are really interested in learning, will have the insight to consider himself a newcomer, and as such will look at that forum section first ( and they should, since this section also holds many threads which cover the basics just as for instance the pinned introduction thread to SGWA ).

Uhm you can find this everywhere on the net already, granted I do think WG should add special tutorials for torpedo's, especially showing that you should NEVER torp from second line, but other then that.. Tier I ships are training ships, they only fire an HE shell ( no AP available ). This tier teaches you aiming. Tier II teaches you ammo selection and adds destroyers with torpedo's, tier III adds BB's and tier IV CV's. So each tier progression up to tier V is already a tutorial on it's own. Also, tactics are hard to teach in a tutorial since they are extremely relative to the situation at hand, it's better to do this stuff interactively aka in division with someone who knows a bit more already. Because you simply could not dodge an entire Kitakami wave, sure you can eat a torp if you're full hp, but if it's 3 torps, or when you're already no longer on full hp... If the enemy has a Kita, I would be so scared for offensive smokes I would stay the hell clear of enemy smoke screens. It might be some harmless DD... but it might be 20 torps AND the 'harmless' DD. Ofc you can counter it with radar and hydro, but that means relying on your team to not be full off donkeys.

Learn to play! Also, go play some DD and CA games before coming here claiming you don't need to l2p. Knowing how to play also means you know the other classes, also prevents you from coming on the forum and making you look like a fool. edit: also, wtf is wrong with needing to learn how to play a game you're not at all entirely familiar with. You got 462 BB games and 86 CA games, that is not enough to know the game entirely. If you played some DD's you would not make the statements you're making now.

Maybe it's the bow on style which just doesn't work for me, I can't reposition after engaging as you can't give anything your broadside without being deleted easilly. I lost one of my battles today because our allied Yamato was hiding behind an island, I called him a camper, so he came out... and started shooting me (rofl). Didn't turn pink, enemy finished me off sadly.

Meh even that is not 'safe', someone who is excellent in some ships/classes doesn't necessarily mean they will do good with Kitakami. Do you need to be good with cruisers ( it IS a Kuma with extended hull, and MM classifies it as a cruiser... ) or a DD ( since you main weapons are NOT your guns )?

I just one of my more okish battles, 99.8k dmg 39 hits and 2 citadels. But I still don't like! Don't like my Shimakaze either though, but meh again I think I'm not alone in not liking that pos ;)

B hull gives better AP shells with much better penetration and increases range iirc... don't know for sure, spend free xp to skip.
