True, there are some who are not BBabies and who have valid concerns about HE spam ( I guess.. in their opinion ). Yet, when I ask them, since we don't want DD's and CA's/CL's to loose damage potential to BB's, if we should give those ships enough AP pen to hurt BB's just as much as now with combined HE + fire spam, they all go silent usually. As for smoke, get your team to work together and drive them out, it's all about teamwork. The biggest issue with smoke is not the mechanic itself it's; 1> team compositions, both teams should have equal smoke/radar/hydro capabilities. 2> team's not coordinating, people not playing the ships in their roles as intended. 3> players lack of situational awareness leading to people in smoke screens getting the most benefit from them ( people who retreat instead of push in/kill the spotter ) even when this is not needed. WG can easilly solve 1, 2 is already underway I hope with WG changing economy model so people get rewarded for doing 'the right things'. And 3 will automatically increase if 2 increases. On the other hand, if you accept that 'the playerbase' would never be able to learn how to deal with them, yeah then the concept is broken but only in the sense that they just can't deal with it. -

Just to be clear, this is HIS opinion, it's not uncontested <edited> Seems that RU forum is the reason of the changes, now my Russian is kinda weak but I'm told there are a lot of people complaining about HE and fires being the worst thing of the game. I want to bet that this big vocal group is mostly driving battleships. -

No. Just learn situational awareness and map control, if a DD sneaked around it's because you failed to notice there was a DD unspotted for a long time, coupled with a hole in your team's defenses. Stealth is an essential part of this game, it can't be removed without making this a simplistic arcade game catered to whoever has the biggest guns removing all tactical aspects. -

No it your job to be IN front of your cruisers ( 2 km or so ) so they don't insta die because of focused BB fire, allowing those CA's to support both YOU and the DD's which are leading ahead spotting enemy DD's and torpedo's ( while also being offensive themselves ). It's not your job to stay alive as long as possible, it's your job to keep your team alive as long as possible. -

I think it's bad to threat individual ships that way, especially since the division wr might not even be because of the ship. Maybe it's the combination of the ship with another kind of ship, and a high enough skill level of the players in those divisions. The best way to solve it imo would be trying to see why in the meta the division is so strong, and come up with something which makes the performance in division not be that more effective then the other combinations possible to division in. Way harder to achieve but ultimately you can't create balance with excluding certain ship from certain game modes. -

They are both EU server right Anyway, it's solo and division difference in win rate for Kharb. Yes, in division it has way higher win rate, because it's popular with good divisions. But the solo difference is 1.5% in wr, there are far larger differences to be found. If the ship when playing solo isn't that much more effective, it's hard to agree it's 'blatantly OP'. It's a damage dealer, it can not contest caps as well as any of the other DD's. So it having higher damage stats doesn't bother me at all, damage isn't the only metric which should be used for balancing, even if they are all DD's they have vastly different roles. -

Yes, it has a bit higher wr then the other DD's, damage doesn't mean anything it's not to be used as soul measuring metric since the class does not / should not purely resolve around damage. So the ROF nerf might seem justified, I wonder how much of Kharb's higher wr would be affected by it. -

Indeed it was, and as you can see I was using past tense. Also, it might have been visible in statistics but all statistics need interpretation. Imo CV's are over nerved, because public opinion ( the most vocal part ) cried about them so much. Lesta, imo, could have considered earlier that the lack of teamwork might be countered with an altered economy which rewards not being a useless ballast for your team instead of damage. Maybe if the playerbase was thought more about the roles of their ships in battle, there would be less need to cater to the lowest denominators ( BBabies ). -

Still diminishes your point a lot, and frankly currently CV's are far from being the 'force' which made people play as a team to defeat it. I kinda miss it, though there were some issues which needed addressing, I had no issues with having a class which had much higher damage potential then the rest, as long as there was a viable counter ( like... teamwork ). -

It might be anecdotal but that is the point, it WAS possible, but people refused to play fittingly. Because enemy team commented on how they were talking in chat and they played in FULL ANTI-CV mode.. They moved as ONE, with all ships overlapping AAA's, and they played AGGRESSIVE, denying our CV time to dwindle them down. Ofc, our team lacked DD's or long range torpedo armed CA's to break up the formations, and our team, me included, failed to knock down the most important AAA escort ships. So, it was both failure from our team as much as Sharana not being able to punch through the overlapping AAA aura's caused by the proper fleet manoeuvring of the enemy team which lead to him not doing sufficient damage to win the game. But yes, people rather listened to the CV OP whine, and look where we're at now.... *cringe* Wait, you're STILL crying CV's are OP? *looses faith in humanity* Ow wait, hidden profile... yeah stupid me commenting on balance remarks from people who hide their profile edit: this is exactly the kind of crying which is killing the game, trying to make BB's able to deal with CV;s without escort was bad enough, but it not enough for BBabies they want even more nerfs. The only issue atm I can think off, besides to strong AAA most likely, is how CV's are prioritizing DD's ( and DD's can't help this, they are not supposed to stay in defensive formations but screen and cap ). Especially high tier IJN DD's are long and slow to turn so quite easy food for some non potato carrier. -

They did tell us, it was because of the carriers being so influential it was visible in the statistics. That is why CV divisions are no longer allowed, and why cv's must be of equal tiers. But, this was not because of CV's but because of the player base refusing to play as needed. Because even then you could counter the CV with a reasonable lineup off BB's and CA's, as long as you curled into little blobs you were going to get hit once or twice perhaps but you would not take massive damage, and the CV would lose it's planes. But people don't want to move in groups, they 'want space to turn' which is also understandable since turning is kinda essential in this game. Or if they move in groups, it's the wrong compositions ( group off BB's going to A, group of BB's going to C. I know it is hard to stay in a formation with people you're not on voice com's with so I can understand it, but please people: don't tell me that CV's were that bad. If your BB got nailed 3 minutes in the game and insta-gibbed, you were probably going rambo without an escort ( not specifying who's fault, might be the cruisers going rambo and going solo against BB's to die needlessly ) Because even then, if he had had ANY AAA cruiser with him, he would have probably lived through the attack because of the scattering, the amount of damage depending on the skill of the cv and BB captain. -
Ofc not, that wasn't even close to the point I made; it's quite refreshing to see people ask for nerfs to german ships. Also, your points are no where near what was in OP, which was what I commented on. 10km secondaries are powerful but not game breaking imo, if their hit ratio's are to high they could be tweaked but Izumo a tier higher has the same range. Why is it ok on tier 9 and not on 8, do torpedo's get such a large range increase? I don't like BB's with a lot of AAA, removes the need/rewards for teamwork It feels nice when you're in the BB I admit, but for the gameplay it would be nice if cruisers would be more rewarded/needed for their escort roles.

I remember a game from back in the time when everyone cried about CV's being broken and how there was NOTHING you could do about it. I was in division with Sharana, some might remember him as not being a terrible cv player? There was no mirror CV matchmaking, and the enemy had no CV. So, easy win for our top of the server carrier specialist right? NOPE. Enemy team all stacked AAA, Sharana was asking team do knock out AAA cruisers and team ( including me ) falled. So we lost. With one the best CV captains on our team, and none on the enemy. -
160mm and you think it's not where you should aim? We're not trying to hunt for citadels here, that is useless, this part will give you 20k salvo's if you pen with enough shells. Edit: crapI missed it, the point I mean

Most of the better players find fires an annoyance, but a manageable annoyance. And an annoyance which should be in the game, as it's a balancing mechanic to not make BB(abies) to overpowered. You can read this all for yourself in the 'interestings news from RU' thread where the developers respond directly on the 'fire issue'. -
