Lesta has already changed packaging method earlier, there was a very high IO load while loading maps ( every part of a ship has it own model, every moving radar, AAA gun, turret, range finder ( when moving ect ) has their own file(s) ). After their changes my loading time was cut down so much it's almost impossible for me to accept people still have issues. Even with slow 5400rpm HDD I load in time, with both a very old system which doesn't even meet min requirements ( but LOADS in time.. just have to play with very low settings ). And my own system is also not that new, granted it's still an I7 so it's not bad or slow, but it's not top of the line ( 3770 non K version ). Idk what the cause is, mostly because I can't replicate the issue. All I hope is that Lesta picks up on the bot reports and fixes the loading issue ( if that is indeed the cause of so many people being late in battles and not some simples more malicious cause ).

WG/Lesta is already addressing economy for top tiers, doesn't have to cater to lowest denominator at all. So no, I don't think a bad player should be playing tier X and getting the same economical results as a decent player just because he pressed a different button. I don't play tier X because of personal reasons which have nothing to do with the 'economy' of tier X ( more with the static bow on BB playstyle prevalent at those tiers ). It's like saying: PVE should give more XP and credits because I invest as much time as someone playing PVP. Which ofc would be utterly retarded because PVE doesn't take the same amount of effort, and 'time invested' is not something I find even close to being an argument in this. I could post more gifs but the one's I'm thinking off might get me into trouble so .... ;) -
Yes, if turrets stay facing at their start orientations, the player is not connected. But even then... it's always possible, and yes I think some people might actually be so twisted that this is their sense of 'fun'. If not, WG/Lesta really has to fix this connectivity issue ASAP.

Ok, design and philosophy aside, can you list the fleet ops involving submarine's? For what I 'know' about it, submarines were intended ( ~ used ) mainly for disrupting enemy supply routes. Engagements between a surface fleet and submarines usually didn't end well for submarines ( limited dive depth + decent sonar ), and like I said I would really like to know which planned fleet engagements there have been between submarine(s) and a surface fleet ( I know a few in East Indies where IJN used submarine's to attack allied surface fleet, but even then it was almost exclusively against lone isolated targets which had no idea they were being targeted afaik? -

I agree! I don't agree, I seem to lack your trust in the results of a few manually made tickets. Mass bot reports were also prevalent while WoWs did have bigger loading issues, WG put quite some attention in fixing this loading time issue back then because of the massive reports ( in game and here on forum ). But while these optimizations have worked wonders for me and for most others, some still have the issue. And Lesta will not pick up on this because of 'investment' vs 'reward'. If there are a few manual tickets and almost no attention to this issue on the other media ( including forums/facebook whatever ), it would surprise me if there is any priority set in fixing the issue overall. More is needed to get things into gear.. So you're one of the one's who think DD's in domination who start moving minutes into the game is not ruining people's fun? Ok, thanks for clearing that up You're the one displaying a lack of understanding btw, failing to understand that people play team based games NOT to have their team members start the game minutes late especially in a team based setup where some individual ships are essential to do their respective jobs during various stages of the game. Ow but no, let's just press battle and pew pew pew a few times, then die uselessly and say: wow that was fun. Right

That's your right, doesn't change the facts though I don't care who is first or last, as long as it's ON TIME. And everyone can give opinions till they die, as long as no one can give me an actual argument which negates putting your team at a disadvantage because of playing while knowing you will be late in battle, it's just opinions differing from mine based on some 'moral' issue ( like; 'everyone is allowed to have fun' ). Which is true, everyone is entiteled to that, so don't deny them that because you got technical issues which denies this to the majority of players ( you are ONE person, there are 11+12 others in that match ). Indeed, you're putting your enjoyment ( idk how someone could enjoy playing a game knowing he is ruining the fun off so many others but yeah ok ... ) over the enjoyment of everyone else. Define 'slight'. I am very clearly not against someone who once in a tens of games might load in 30 seconds late ( hell I don't even care if you got a phonecall and only start moving 5 minutes in which happened to me before as well.. I will give you a bot report because I have ( explained earlier in the thread.... ) but it is not what I am advocating against here ). There seem to be people around who state: so what I load in late every match, I can still play so if I start 'a bit' later it's fine. It's NOT fine if you start the game later, not if it's frequent or even always, and certainly it's not 'fine' if you do this while knowingly ruining the fun off every other player in that match.

Adding 'leagues' is a hidden form off skill based MM, you still need to determine which category someone belongs in. Ow wait, you want people to choose for themselves to play against terrible, bad, or ok players? Word's can't express .... Ow and .... Plox, gib your worked out idea for skill based matchmaking ( preferable without flaws plox! ). Wait, don't tell me your idea was 'having leagues and let people choose freely between them'? -

CA gaemplox is fine, but class distribution isn't. Doing a CA's job is fun, exiting and thrilling!! Until you see the enemy team has 8 battleships and just 1 cruiser, and you realize there is not real 'job' for you to do anymore -

I don't know either but just conceptually if feels like they want to focus on gunboat's over torpedo's and as I said I don't see a 'niche' for IJN gun boats in which they would be competitive with the other nations ( national 'traits'/strengths ). And yes, RU has the advantage of speed, USN can stealth up to disengage just like IJN can, but IJN is also slower than USN. There are lots of things they can 'play' with, but since it's clear they don't like the whines from BB's about torpedo's they want to lower their effectiveness, and removing a national trait like torps on IJN means you need to replace it with something, and that something needs to differ enough from the other nations to not get really limited singular play styles ( removing diversity to lower learning curve to cater to BB captains ). -

Ahh sorry, yeah clearly read that wrong, I thought he advocated buffing BB's more ( or nerfing all the others to create the same effect ) Skill based MM will not work because: a: Imagine it being based on skill of EVERY player in the team -> MM needs to find 12 + 12 players of equal skill -> insane queue times b: Imagine it being based on average skill of all players per team -> this will mean there are usually a few 'good' players per team who have been put there to offset the lacking skill levels of their team members. This means 'good' players will always have to carry potato's in order to win. c: How do you measure 'skill'? You can't use win rate, as with a skill based MM everyone is pulled towards the 50% marker. And you can't really use ELO rating's in team games, those are more suited for games like chess. edit: d: I don't see how skill based MM would solve the issue with class balance, as this balance should be done based on average performance already there won't be much change ( since average performance will be roughly the same relative to other classes independent off skill level )? -

BB's need buffing.... No it is not, you would know if you spend a second of searching ( or you're trolling by trying to insinuate it's already part of MM, which would be a stupid transparent troll but meh some people can't troll properly I guess.... ). And no, let's not add skill based MM as it wouldn't solve anything at all. -

Yes he is, botting includes being AFK in matches and this means that people who start moving minutes into the game are BOTTING. Period, simple and no discussion possible. Essentially yes, if the turrets are in fixed forward and backward position I don't report. But, every time I think about that I get this feeling I should, because Lesta should prevent this from happening PERIOD. You can not have competitive MMO's where some players start their game later then others, and then randomly mix those with the others. This is just breaking the competitive aspect ( yes, even randoms are 'competitive' in the sense that no one presses battle wanting a loss handed to them ). So perhaps even reporting these disconnected people has merits, without the report Lesta can claim 'hey it's not any issue some people ruin the fun off others' ...... People who play knowing they can't load into games in time are selfish.

There are multiple versions of the same mod going around, the one I have installed has the settings there, another option is under your 'profile' folder in your main WoWs directory, subfolder called alt_minimap.

Because off arcs ofc, yes. But at spotting distance of an USN DD? That is basically my point either the new one's will either have to compete at close range with USN DD's ( unlikely ) or they will be second line damage dealers ( after RU DD's ). Which is fine with me, I like gunboating , but I also like the tactical aspect of specialized torpedo boats. With that latest snippet indicating how they want to move away from stealth my fears grow. -
