    Really? Yeah so why would I need to provide you with arguments DD's are more influential? ^^ ;) That's what I meant, a slip of the pen ( unintentional error ). You lot keep making statements which blame the DD's and then eventually have to come back to 'yeah it's teamplay'. Ofc team with DD wins in most games there are caps and the later in game it gets the more important speed becomes ( and less important concealment, since there are fewer enemies to spot you anyway ). So the DD's can react faster, can go cap if needed and so on. But to come into a situation where your DD's are death, stop blaming DD players and look at your own contributions ( especially for those BB mains whining it's DD's fault ). Are you guys trying to trigger someone

    I think you made an oopsie, but I will let it slide ;) A good BB player is still able to get the same solo win rate as I am though, so even if in a 1v1 this might be true, it doesn't seem to influence how much games you can win. Ofc it does not, not always at least. But pretty often it does. A BB which is almost full hp and has no more alive allies has not played aggressive enough, that's a statement I stand behind. Because in the few situations where the BB is not at fault at all, it's pretty clear on it's own. Overall, I think you're looking at it wrong. You think of everything as a single aspect, I look at the entire game as a chain of events'engagements/decisions. If I play DD, I spend over half my game watching what my team is doing, because that dictates what I need ( or can ... ) do. That would be fine if people would do the same when playing battleships, sadly what I notice is that most just default to long range at the start while still expecting others to play aggressive and provide them spotting / contest caps from the start. It does not work that way, and no it's not the destroyers fault that this is happening.

    There is counterplay to everything in this game, except CV's. That includes HE spammers. DFAA change to just buffing dmg is the WORST part, removing tactical aspects of the game. Old DFAA actually was trying to encourage teamwork at least.

    The DD is no longer the play maker. You know what I, a good DD player according to you, do when I look behind me and see the BB hasn't touched his W key before spamming 'I need intelligence'? I turn away, wish him luck in chat and move to the other flank. In ANY first engagement / contest, I am risking my ship. Not 'some dmg' no I risk being caught pants down by an enemy team who rushed to support their DD's and who will ambush me with overwhelming force. So if I don't see proper aggression on my flank from the battleship, I am not playing their forward. I rather play forward for a different team, so I transfer myself to the other flank. No this is a thread trying to crap on destroyer players, which I am trying to correct and redirect on the proper class to whine about. Bull, like I said before, if you don't provide a decent defense and mid field, stop asking the striker to make goals when he doesn't even get the ball passed to him. OMG You were calling a group of players idiots, it must be about battleships

    The DD is not the goalkeeper, the BB is. The DD is the forward, which needs to be passed the ball in positions where he can threaten the enemy goal. Nah it really doesn't. If I am a good DD player, don't you think I kinda have to know why it is I can be influential in my DD, and when I can not be influential? A DD will not win games on his own, just as a battleship will not win them on their own. The battleship ( goalkeeper ) has to coach and position his defense and midfield in such a way that the forward ( destroyer ) can threaten the enemy goal. If the goalkeeper doesn't do his, the forward might not get a proper ball whole game. Well then, why didn't you start with this ( and let's end on it as well ).

    Yes I will to, but that's because skill ceiling on DD's is much higher and some people will be able to exploit that. But even a good DD player can not do anything against a good enemy team without some support. He will top the team list, but he will not be able to carry without some support. Have you not listened? Battleship positioning is just as important, as it dictates which engagements the DD's should be taking and which not. Stop seeing influence of DD without parameters. If the enemy team is covering 3 caps with DD's and CL's and your team is parked on A10, no amount of skilled DD player can turn it around. A skilled BB player will have prevented his whole team ending up on A10, and would have attempted to create a zone where his own DD's are free to engage without being overwhelmed. I seen enough potato DD's being run down by a good BB player so this statement is false. Yeah it kinda does, if you haven't traded your hp in ways to benefit your team you played wrong. And a BB can annoying the heck out of some pushing cruisers, especially the <every single one> with their AP shells. Why are you blaming a DD if it's the team fault for not enabling him to contest? Why do you think a DD should always do something, even if his allies which are supposed to enable this, aren't doing their own job?

    It's not about ergonomics, I don't have issues reaching the buttons, I just hate it that when I play Grozovoi for instance, my automations suddenly cause me to misplay. And its not like I can use current rebinding options without influencing my other ships. That is why I want this manual consumable binding on a per ship basis, I would leave everything on default except for the ships where I have troubles with currently. And that list is pretty short :) Could be an argument to not put effort into it, but as I said it causes me to not play the ship that often.

    True and that would be fine, is said BB's wouldn't be spamming 'I need intelligence' at my, and pinging the cap saying I should cap :) I understand an Amagi wanting to sit a bit at range, or a Yamato, but they should also understand that if the enemy team actually has support for their destroyers and they are not doing the same, their destroyers not providing them with 'intelligence' is what they deserve to get. Problem is that most destroyers don't switch flank to where they will get support, but are stuck in the mindset that they need to do their job even when others do not. Well you claimed it was a risk averse ship, which is odd when you claim Shima's run off and die in 3 minutes usually Absolute bull, if your BB's don't establish map control so you can contest caps on equal ( or better ) footing as enemy DD, it's team's fault not DD's.

    You don't care, so why do you care I care? It messes up my automation, get's me killed because I press a wrong consumable. This has been pointed out years ago, but it's just not important enough for WG to put any priority on. Better spend development time in submarines Let me be able to set up my own own consumables on a per ship basis, otherwise if I would not, it's stays the same as now. Why would you care?

    are you really saying most Shima's aren't cowards afraid to use gun's even when spotted, but instead are 'living on the edge' kind of players? Really? edit: ahh nice edit, when I reacted this was your last sentence ;)

    Why do people keep making these false claims, I guess they don't realize inflluence BB positioning has on teamplay / tactics Maybe you're playing them wrong? Especially if you tried them ( meaning low tiers where people start ), there aren't many DD's where using guns is a bad thing... in fact not using guns is generally a bad idea on all destroyers. it just depends on when you use them. Sometimes you can even cause BB's to turn into your torpedo's by shooting at them and making them notice you ( most BB's instantly start turning out... good BB will likely turn in ). Had some games yesterday, again BB's 20km from the nearest cap unable to find their W key and support their team so they can support their destroyers, instead if sitting on J line and letting enemy DD's WITH SUPPORT get map control. Then I also have to admit that when I don't play DD's, there often are pretty playing them.

    Nah I think it died before release tbh The interesting is the 'why'. Your 'whatever', well for me that applies to bad players needing a game to be dumbed down constantly because they lack the effort needed to learn a few simple game mechanics and tactics. This game was better a couple of years back, and now with the threat of submarines it will become totally toxic due to all the baddies having gotten their way.

Training room is your friend Just need to find 24 Atlanta owners on the forum, shouldn't be to hard ;) Also, as to it being a problem, I think MM will get issues to make games which aren't full of highly specialized ships for the few specific maps they hope to get. Which then find themselves fighting themselves mostly, just like in your Atlanta example ( though I'm not sure if Atlanta is so OP there? Still don't have one... ).
  19. But but if I never detonate, I have to rely on containers to give me them flags.... I'm playing some DD's without now, I only have about 70 detonation flags left I would like to keep those for when they really matter ( not in randoms, I can probably take being detonated once every X games without my overall performance tanking to much ).
  20. We asked for this when they allowed it in tanks iirc... Just have a block list with 1 or 2 maps you don't like, but you can only change this list once ever X time, and it's not on a per ship basis ( no real chance of abuse this way ). I don't think you should be able to favorite, that would make me spam a class which plays the best on that / those maps.

    I would almost check which player would make such a request, or who thinks it's big enough of a deal to even bring up. The more of these requests.. the more Italian SAP will make me happy. BB getting salvo's of 20k from a cruiser, and then complain about the damage... yeah, but I can't start fires Not that SAP looked that great, it hurts destroyers to much , but I seen current version has already worse autobounce angles so angling has way more effect ( video I think from Notser few days back? ).

    Well I did say that for a reason, but heck I'm not going to predict out loud it would be instant favorite reaction And I got nothing against community team they do a good job. Sadly their job does involve keeping us happy and engaged, without having all the options to actually respond to community requests or questions. It's a bit like the in game chat channels, we know they know they suck, they know we know they know, but they can still say it's not a priority.

    We need a reaction option, I mean I don't think it's boring, I'm not giving it a thumbs down as I don't want to to imply I think you're responsible, I certainly don't find it funny yet it also doesn't anger me. What we need though is an reaction emote showing disappointment. Even if there is a risk it might get overused.

    It's also dangerous for me to use his opinion as base for arguments since he is clearly suffering from reverse Dunning Kruger effect I do it to, mitigation is key ( and I'm slowly getting a bit better at it.. ). It's just that dps on most DD's is so insignificant in comparison with the respawn rate of planes. This makes destroyers such a favorite target especially for the bad/mediocre CV player which risks losing a lot of planes to flak when trying to attack battleships. You will take damage, and basically every time you're dodging rockets you're not playing the objectives. When I play a battleship I ignore CV's most of the game, as I can tank the hits better as risking exposing broadside. This also means I'm still actually actively playing the game, not 'dodge the mediocre player in his CV'. Only when surface threat is lesser mitigating CV's with maneuvering, aka playing mole in a whack-a-mole becomes a real thing. I been playing up to tier 7 with my RN and FR DD's, and actually will not play anything which meet's the current tier 4 CV spam. Since I came back, my Jervis wr is exceptional even for me, but I must admit one of the reasons I'm concentrating on that line and not my French DD's is the RN smoke. I feel I can have so much more influence with a DD when I have ways to avoid detection other then just 'not be where the planes are'.

    Which is the issue, why do 3k against a BB with significant AAA when you can do the same against other classes with less risk? CV's should have high alpha against battleships, and be less effective against other classes. Sadly this goes against mainstay of players who think this is World of Battleships.
