    Even if you don't play the lower tiers yourself, you have to accept that new player experience is leading in long term viability of the game. Sadly my Texas only met two carriers which both ignored me ( I only have plane kills because my DD's were smart enough to drag planes my way ). Also full teams, and battle lasted whopping 8m 57s...

    If you say so. Doubt about the rest btw, as I just checked my tier 4 queue in game and it doesn't look like it has so few players it could form matches like yours. edit: scratch that doubt, my queue just showed 20 CV's vs 4 BB's 2 CA and 5 DD's. That's horrible. Sorry man for the doubt, I never seen it so bad this late in the morning.

    I don't think I ever seen someone being called an intellectual player, I'm not sure if I should take offense or take it as a compliment You're right, Darter and Dace sank Atago and Maya. But it also showcases that a> they were in ambush at Palawan Passage b> after initial contact, they had to use cover of night and full speed surface travel to gain a workable launch solution Submarines do not work as depicted in what WG has been showing us. Not even close.

    I don't think so. Who would want that In a scenario type gameplay, yeah sure, heck if it's in line with the arcade nature ( but adhering to actual laws of physics which dictate that going 30kts submerged would take a little bit more power.. like a nuclear reactor kind of power output... ) it will actually be fun. But not in pvp. Never ever am I going to chase circles. Picking of stragglers?

    I don't think this was played right before you posted it, it looks like it was played very early morning right after server restart ( with almost no players online ). I have played quite some games in ships which could meet the current Hosho spam, and I've been in a 3 CV per team match I think twice both times right after a server restart. Maybe you were just unlucky, but looking at the team rosters you don't have full teams and thus this game is likely from a time when there were very few players online.

    On the contrary, players will massively dump the class because of the toxicity which will come due to tasking DD's with yet another 'primary' role.

    This morning 4 games so far. Jervis match 1: 2 CV's per team -> RN smoke did not prevent me from losing 3/4th hp to rocket planes, and NONE to surface ships entire game. Jervis match 2: 2 CV's per team -> spend most of game near allies AA bubble, with the BB's crying for 'intelligence'. Blysca match: NO CV's -> instant fun game, 3 kills defended base from getting capped out tons of spotting dmg everyone in team communicating and helping eachother, great experience! Aigle match: 2 CV's per team, spend most of game being near Fuso crying whole game for intelligence ( I was near... but still on the screening side and actually spotted every torpedo coming his way whole game.... ) and a Leander, because both CV's focus on our weak flank with only 3 ships. When CV's finally switch attention, and I push out to spot Hatsuharu with my spoodbeast to overcome spotting distance... I look back and see Fuso full hp reversing... when 20s ago he cried for intelligence again... so I wished him luck in chat and moved to other flank with Leander where we got revenge against the enemy CV's... sadly our CV's sank the Hatsu edit: just to clarify I voted DD's are fine.. they are. It's the meta and BB's crying for intelligence because they think DD's should trade their hp to carriers just so they can snipe from behind... how about, you bunch of babies in your battleships, you actually move forward instead? I aint trading none of my hp with a CV just because some bad player in his babybarge wants me to provide him with 'intelligence'. Last game with Aigle I nearly got to kill both CV's ( both were on <100hp when some BB decided to land an AP shell... can't say I blame him tho ), guess our two CV's were just better and that's why enemy CV's were last alive..

    ^^ Those graphs are like WG claiming only 30% of ammunition is gold ammo in tanks. They missed the other problem they once identified and yet never came back on 'fixing' ... whatever happened after WG came out claiming battleships were becoming an issue and that they lived to long.. well reework happened. I want dmg distribution charts from prior to REEwork and now, and then WG can tell me more about the X% gold ammo in tank about how they 'fixed' that issue.

    But this is exactly what we wanted from the start ( we = me and other sane people, idk about OP in this thread ). And low priority it might be, it would actually cause me to not shun playing Grozovoi, since I always mess up during a game while playing it at least once.

    Tier 8 DD's gain concealment module, playing tier 7 when being uptiered a lot mostly affects DD's, BB's and CA/CL don't really jump up from 7 to 8 ( 8 to 9 cruisers gain heal ). Aren't you feeling inadequate then already, considering current statistics of older players contain times when we had +3 MM?

    This is why I have a decent win rate, but not so high PR. I usually do try this, when I should, like the proper unicums, move on from playing to win to playing to farm damage. Thing is, I'm getting tired of having to look back and see full hp battleships when my cruisers are all dead, my other DD's are being hunted and I'm on a sliver of HP left. Well yes, DD should indicate at start his plan... when I don't play DD and are not in division I usually start with using the quick commands indicating we need to support our DD's. This usually makes the DD's go into hardcore PTFO mode, but only when they see they are actually being supported. You can also turn it around, the CV scouting a cap and dropping a fighter can also 'tell' the DD which cap is the optimal one for him to go to. CV planes are faster as DD's, and if you speedboost right to a cap at start in current meta you're playing your DD wrong. Yes, absolutely. Because I look at where I will get support while I play for objectives ( -> only applies for domination games ). It's also highly dependent on what DD I am playing, am I playing a high concealment gunbote which will get outspotted by all enemy destroyers, I might decide I'm more valuable when I go to another cap in support of another DD. If I'm playing a DD which will have the spotting advantage and there are no radars, I will always stay on my spawn flank, since I can both scout safely as do damage at the same time as I might be able to secure a cap. I am told I am a decent DD captain, I like to think that makes the way I play the game by definition a valid one. This also applies to how I judge where I should play, and what role I should play in coordination with my team. This is also why my performance goes down at tier 9 and 10, they are not tiers I have played a lot and as such bring with them a difference in approach where I make the wrong decisions more often. But up to there, and even still quite a bit even at the highest tiers, you're oversimplifying how you should play your destroyer, at least when I compare it with how I like to play mine. And for me, it does matter what my team is doing, and I can not agree with the notion this thread is trying to convey. The better a DD captain becomes, the more he always is paying attention to his team and working with them ( ~exploiting holes they cause in enemy team ). And it's only when I get team after team of BB which thinks their teams are there so they don't get shot at until every one else is death, that I might 'crack' and neglect to PTFO. I might even announce in all chat that I won't be shooting red ships until they sank a certain BB on my team which up to then was full hp being useless.... And that is the actual issue I see in game over and over, not DD's being misplayed. But hey, maybe we both suffer from confirmation bias ;) ( I most likely do ).

    Kita is just a meme ship, I want Missouri because of the BB with radar niche and ofc the internal credit multiplier. I am not even sure, I am playing her a bit recently ( finally having a captain with ifhe makes her a lot ... easier to do dmg with ) but with the changes to smoke firing... I think it has 8km smoke firing penalty.. If they gib peeps Smolensk, I feel they could give them Kutu as well.

Sadly I think this is the new norm :( I see players with a few hundred battles having multiple tier X's, and unless it's a (proper) reroll it's most likely 40% wr on them is already being to optmistic. While, how many people do you see 'doing it right' asking questions going slowly up the lines when advised to do so? It fills me with joy when I see it happen, but it doesn't happen nearly often enough.

    And I'm helping you along, free of charge, by pointing to the team aspect of this game. Which, strangely I know I know, does depend on where battleships go and what they do there. Where the battleship go to dictates where enemy cruisers will not go to, which dictates where even mr potato DD is the least likely to die prematurely. He should have. And he should have included that among other issues, bad BB positioning is leading to losing destroyers quickly. 1. Those that die.. yes probably misplay happens to the best of us. 2. Those who can't stop a landslide loss? Are you for real, those are the absolute best example of when it's 100% not DD's fault. You can't expect a DD to go cap the bases when you're in a team which gives up map control and all hurdles in one corner of the map. Are you sure? This thread does bash, and you know why, because the premise you keep repeating is false. It's not bad DD players, it's a bad game design and lacking support.

    Pressing battle requires 20 minutes of concentration, and available continious time, without a pause option because something irl takes precedence. posting on forum requires a few seconds.

    But you only look at the outcome it seems, I include WHY you might have lost those DD's ( hint: it's because the classes complaining about them did not support properly ). DD are only more influential if you allow them. And if you allow yourself to frequently find yourself in a team without destroyers, it get's more and more likely the issue doesn't start with the destroyer captains.
  23. Well WG thought an open water map would be really impopular, and it was / is depending on which class you play. Cruisers hate Ocean... well those who rely on not getting shot more as on their 'armor' or speed/maneuverability. Battleships think they love it, until they realize that if cruiser hate it, they are more likely to see lots of DD's on enemy team...

    Conq is a sad BB for relying on HE but it has enough counterplay especially after the nerfs to the heal. Overextended Conq is a dead one. That people feel a need to use her as example imo shows there are no proper arguments. I think they tested it and to many baddies found it to hard to be more effective as they usually are, hence it was scrapped.
