Preferably while using a brain(cell) so you actually have fun and don't end up like some 44'er. Or you might get called stoopid.

The only actually unclear bit for me is the captain, if he had a better captain then the 10 point one, and that captain is gone, WG's code is bugged as I don't think it would be intentionally screwing him out off the better captain. But, if his WORSE captain then 10 skill points was replaced with a 10 point one... yeah ok, you can say you rather get the new captain with a reserve slot so you can manually dismiss the bad one and get the free reserve space... but again, we're talking about content WON in a lottery. There is only so much moral high ground one can claim in this case, and imho OP is trying to claim to much.

How the heck is he being punished when he is given free stuff He wants the doubloons because he already paid for the ship so now he really wants the ship for free? Why? Isn't it enough that he won the silver price of the premium, why should WG have to give him more? He just wanted more, and while I can understand wanting more, it's not like he has an actual moral base for it. Don't worry, you're not really hurting me as you generally make sense

quoted post removed Lmao you must be trolling. Hint: those are probably alpha/beta players with say 5x your experience in the game. Seriously, even with the actually working aim assist AGES ago before WG made clear it was not allowed and before they closed off 3rd party script access, the actual amount of people using it was far less then some people make out ( even I was saying it was more abundant then it was ). And that is simple: everyone thinks he is better then he is, and if you get sunk it MUST be because the other guy is cheating. This. Though he could have also said that you bought yourself a nice sigma advantage ( don't worry... I own one to ). edit: What is actually a far more 'realistic' concern is that mod which showed impact circle for shells, is that still 'active'? Since with the new rudder modules, that cheat would be even more game breaking then before.

You were being sarcastic, that is fine, I would do the same with anyone familiar with WG games and OP has a WG account since 2013. So, not sure if OP was serious or trolling... Yeah the more I read this the more I guess he's just being a troll... Demanding doubloons for something he won in a lottery ( super container ) instead of credits.. man it's so stupid it hurts. Also, unless his original captain had more skill points then 10 ( someone check his # of games in it and avg xp... ) he got a free better captain and still complains. Really

Some players obsession with stats. What's up with that?
mtm78 replied to Runner357's topic in General Discussion
Shiet... I almost forgot to post something, I promised myself I would do it in any statistical discussion on this forum -
Yorck isn't bad at all, just get used to the lazy arc's, it will take some time. The AP starts faster then the HE shells but has worse air drag so slows down in flight a lot more.

Damnit my sarcasm detector was tingling I thought the entire post was meant sarcastic

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
mtm78 replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
I would predict massive outcry on EU forum about how unfair it is that NA get's it and we don't -
Look, most players I know which are any good will get comparable results in all/most classes. I am primarily a DD and CA/CL player but I get the same results with BB's. Just, BB's are less consistent 'in the moment' and that frustrates the heck out off me ( leaving aside OP UP imba and so on for a moment ). The point of the video is not about the ship, but about reading the battle. So your cruisers don't scale as well tier for tier, just take that into account and change your goals. With Nurnberg I would be either spamming long range, get into knife fights with DD's ( just make sure they are isolated enough so you don't get focused by half the enemy team ) or trying to sneak up on things ( which are lower hp/dpm and/or distracted ). And with a BB heavy meta, the first thing I'd do is foremost: look after my health for mid to late game. In the opening stages, unless you can support your own DD's from some cover which shields you from focus, this means long range support. If we had a DD heavy meta it would be close up DD support as the DD battle would be decisive for the match, but with a BB heavy meta the most important thing would be establishing map control ( in/for a longer duration war of attrition ), so try to make sure enemy DD's can't reach certain positions/can't flank your battleships without actually going balls deep and getting deleted. So yes, sometimes this means parking behind an island and using your arcs to shoot undetected ( hard with a GE railgun compared with some lazier guns in the game but for reference ). That's not being a coward, it's not even directly tied to the BB heavy meta. Nurnberg would melt from concentrated cruiser fire as well, hell my Gremmy likes doing 10k salvo's to Nurnberg's which give a flat broadside ( 4 x 2.5k citadels from 130mm RU AP, it hurts like hell ). Once you get to York you will get used to long range HE spam anyway, since that's where the ship is actually really good in ( and what contributes the most to your team I guess ). Hipper is more tanky but hey you meet Yamato's so yeah.. Each ship has strengths, a CL's strength is almost always in dpm and not in resisting incoming fire. edit: My Nurnberg has a 75% win rate ( only 20 games needed to unlock the next one.. and no I didn't keep her ). I think how I played her is probably not optimal ( or even close ) but it's not that bad either. edit2: There is an ingame chat channel called 'Forumites' ( note the capital F ). It's made by Sturmtiger304, and the password is 'play4fun'. If I'm playing I'm almost always in there, join the channel and if I see you we'll division up maybe it helps to play in division a few times. And if I'm not, the people there are friendly and almost everyone is a above average in performance ( hey forumites tend to read the forum topics and learn from them ) so they will also be able to give you some tips if you want them. And if not, it's still more fun to play together then alone

Just when I really need a like, I notice I've ran out... sad story But, for you, attitude, you tha man
-
No, wondering within 10km from a BB in a Nurnberg when the BB has nothing else to shoot at, THAT is an offense punishable by death. And it got punished. Learn from it. Nurnberg is a CL, WTH are you thinking in that it should be capable of popping op less then 10km from a BB and live to tell the tale?
-
They even shown they can introduce different kind of heals ( high tier RN CL's ) without messing it up Wait... Wait... 2 BB's, 2 DD's and 1 CA's != BB heavy meta. Sure the CA is outnumbered but it's still only two BB's in play which means you can minimize profile and attempt to angle ( effectiveness not point of discussion ). I mean, didn't even watch, yeah it sucks being shot by BB's but this is not MY issue atm. My issue is when there are a surplus of BB's which means you can never minimize profile/angle because the BB's will be spread out on different angles meaning that if you angle/minimize profile against one ( group ) you're giving broadside to the other group. That is my issue, if there are to many BB's you will have to check so many gun orientations continuously to 'know' if someone is aiming for you from to many angles. Maybe my issue is just that I'm not good enough to keep tracking them continuously and still consider the game 'fun'
-
You know that, but a BBaby would not know he sucks so much, how worthless at life he is, how sad his parents were on the day he was born ( and I could go on but you get the point ). No seriously, without the meme about the worst kind of BB captains, every human has troubles looking at their own performance critically. And the worse you are at something, the harder it is for someone to actually understand how bad they are at it, just because they lack the needed understanding of basics to determine how bad they are. I think it's called Dunning-Kruger or something close. And as long as THOSE BBabies are still thinking they are doing things right, your argument has no bearing.
-
I guess we're mostly in agreement actually, just calling it different names. All off those things are core gameplay aspects, or part of a CA's core gameplay aspect -> jack-off-all-trades ( or almost all trades if we are being completely accurate ). A CA is worse at providing vision then a DD, simply because the DD will have a far easier time to stay undetected himself while also being faster, and that applies to most gameplay elements. But that still keeps the vision provisioning as a core aspect. More so with stealthy CA's like USN one's for instance.
-
Core aspect != only task in game. Far from it. USN CA's, I'm still stick at NO but it's ok I guess = good cammo, radar, support DD's when contesting cap zone's ( domination ). In standard battles with 2 enemy CV's I would play more like AAA escort yes. I have played MK in division with top CV players and all I had to do was keep their CV afloat while they decimated enemy team. Is it fun, well yeah, once in a while. Could I play like that continously and call it 'enjoyable', hell no. But this diversity is what makes CA's, CA's. They are jack of all trade's, and they offer utility like AAA and hydro to complement their raw damage output. I don't want a pure utility class, that wouldn't be fun. But I also don't want everyone to have those utilities available, negating the necessity for teamwork.
-
It was and should be part of their core gameplay. It's pretty clear you want an Unreal Tournament with ship models. Which is fine. But I don't want that, I want a deeper game where units complement eachother and are not all capable of the same things but require teamwork to get the most out of each individual unit. Maybe you're in the wrong game? Maybe I am... Who the hell sorts by WTR to prove a point about balancing Or sorts by WR with ships in there with ONE game played. Your data shows nothing at all.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
mtm78 replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Must have been a terrible sight seeing how my signature says I have a zero percent win rate recently And wb btw.. I guess... not sure really, does one say WB when one returns to a sinking ship Stop haxoring, duh -
That was more because it was deemed simpler with a single captain/crew member than having separate crew posts. I would think it makes more sense to make WoWs more like WoT since it's ill concievable that such a big ship is run by a single person and that this one person decides all 'skills'. Would be nice perhaps if you had a gunnery officer which influenced your .. well gunnery, and a head mechanic which will keep your ship running smoothly even under fire and so on
-
I threw away that Button Of Powah, maybe it's not my premium which ran out but the loss of the ST hax pack I didn't know I had a ZERO percent win rate though... in two battles
-
Don't get to excited, WG will remove stealth fire ability from ships next because otherwise the BBabies don't have enough visible targets to shoot at

Do we need a cap in the number of Battleships per battle?
mtm78 replied to valrond's topic in General Discussion
You're like the singular exception, don't think balance should be based on that. I will admit I don't like caps as it lowers diversity, but for average joe cruiser captain having 8 or more BB's on enemy team is not that engaging. -

mtm78 replied to valrond's topic in General Discussion
Why are people not making public polls so we can see who votes what. Would be so interesting as I expect those who think current situation to be fine to be slightly insane and perhaps also a bit biased Seriously, 25% BBabies is actually less than average server population, but since these are the forums I expect less stupid people. -

Another ramble about Carriers - Ishiro nostalgia edition
mtm78 replied to Ishiro32's topic in Aircraft Carriers
They were too busy adding in Keen Intuition because we all know stealth is an OP, game breaking feature ( if you're a BBaby off course ).
