The model is ready or it couldn't be released for ST. Small changes, like the difference between Tirpitz/Bismarck or Scharnhorst/Gneisenau take less time ( though I agree it's likely they won't just release a carbon copy and if they didn't plan to release a variant of the class this variant is obviously not finished right now. But I don't think they need 'two years' to do so.

Some discussions are not possible if the people are to far apart in reasoning. As I said to _FTD_ he could have added more options to the poll but he purposefully wanted to keep it very simple. Simplicity might lead to more clarity, though as I said I would have liked a poll option to keep the mode optional for those who want to play it ( because it IS playable, it's just not an entertaining gameplay experience for everyone. The idea of the poll was indeed not to have a discussion about the possibilities, but clearly only to get a rough indication if people are unhappy with the mode. Do I agree with the poll choice? No I don't. It would have been better to leave room for interpretation, as it would lead to a bigger insight in the motivation of both sides ( those who like it and those who don't ). Do I understand why _FTD_ did not want to get into a discussion about it other then yes/no? Yes I do, he even said so himself. He doesn't think the poll will have any effect on WG, so time spend going in depth about the why of keeping the mode around or not would be time better spend elsewhere ( if I'm wrong _FTD_ you can obviously correct me, as I'm making some assumptions here ).

Only WG knows You could be wrong. Especially with the response they are getting. WG is not EVIL, I might not agree with all their balancing actions but WG and especially the team here at WoWs which I had contact with during my time as ST are good people who want to make a good product. Making a good product with a F2P model means you got to take care of your community. Hence that I actually think that considering the feedback they have gotten, they are actually very likely to take action on it. And that action imo is most likely being; making another SoDak class ship available for the 'common people'. It just makes the most sense. And it doesn't make sense to do that over two years, instead of soon™

Let's say I voted out of principle Also, I was still ST when the mode undergone testing so I do have a basic experience with it. Sorry man, but how is having experience or lacking experience in the mode not relevant when looking at the replies? edit: If you had the poll option to keep it in but optional I am quite sure you would have had more votes in your favor.

I would think Big Mamie will be the premium as it's the ship with the most battle stars. Though Bismarck and Tirpitz turn that around, where Bismarck is the most famous they chose Tirpitz as the premium. Also, WG likes to make premiums a bit different then the regular tech tree, so maybe it will be South Dakota as premium with fewer secondaries but another trait to differentiate her. It's all speculation at this point. The only thing I am certain off is that WG did not model a ship ( which can take months of development time ) just as ST exclusive ( not saying they wouldn't deserve it, but I rank WG as to commercial to do that ).

I thought the Mikasa was described as the ultimate botting ship, start the match set a course with autopilot and go have a coffee while watching the battle from free cam Meh if you don't like coffee though...

The model is ready, nothing prevents WG from making the ship available in some form for the common folks like us. Maybe because of this 'backlash' this will happen a lot sooner then they planned even. Either way, it's really not the end of the world.. what would have been a bit iffy is if the class itself would stay ST exclusive and ST is also responsible for balance testing it But that's obviously not going to happen. edit: ps Ichase was not the first one to mention those alternatives, I heard them here from people in the EU way before that video went online ;)

Well... dmg isn't that important it seems.. my Blys with also 40k dmg is winning 67% or her matches, but my Leni with 43k dmg only wins 54% or something close to that. The damage output is not the end all be all of a DD's usefulness, contesting caps, spotting and where you do the damage also matters. And Blys is much more comfortable with hunting other DD's, Leni feels more like the speed demon running around finding targets of opportunity. So with Blys, I feel I am in control, with Leni I feel I'm reacting. Also, Leni is much harder to use, getting your dpm off at another DD means giving a lot of broadside and thus risking engine shots and generally losing more hp then when you're a narrower target. On the other hand, Leni has better torps. I expect my wr with Leni to climb, but I am not sure it will get as high as my Blys. But the fun while zooming around with 48.7kts and see Clevelol and Lollanta shells fall multiple boat lengths behind you constantly as they just can't get used to leading as much as you need to hit this speed demon is pretty priceless

There are also two others of the class ( South Dakota, Indiana ) It's not like no one will be able to get a SoDak class battleship. Massachusetts has a more decorated service history then Alabama has. It would have been 'better' if the class was made available both to ST as exclusive ( in name ) as in a split tech tree or regular premium, but I am convinced WG did not model the ship exclusively for ST. That would not make much sense from an economical point of view. So what I am trying to say is: yes people are upset, and I can understand that particularly for people from the US who have a bond with the Alabama specifically. But this is something which can not be avoided unless they make the ST a 'paper' ship. Just like Hans said, if they had made Belfast the ST exclusive, lots of Brits wouldn't have liked it. But, WG could then have said that while the Belfast is exclusive, there is another town class cruiser available for everyone. So, is it that bad that one of the ships of a class is an ST exclusive? I personally don't feel that way. I did before I was corrected about the Massachusetts service record ( I though Alabama had the most decorations, making it the more iconic ship ), and before I realized that both of them are museum ships and as such there are lots of people who can still visit both of them. So perhaps Massachusetts will eventually be the premium version available for everyone, it makes sense in my mind ( how much value is to be put on that is not up to me though ).

It is, for the first few targets you want to sink I guess no? Ok so you run out of planes and are useless ballast at the end of the match but the people you sacrificed your planes for might not see that as a redeeming factor? I seen plenty of CV's sacrifice entire squads to get a kill, granted those were bad flattop captains but that might be where some of the salt is coming from.

1. that image was with a 5 torpedo bomber squad Haku which for obvious reasons is no longer in the game. 2. in current game state, the issue would 100% be with the BB ignoring minimap and not using WASD hax.
