A word of warning regarding Viribus-Unitis. Last test-changes are not applied.
mtm78 replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
I don't think they will add a new t4 premium, the other Tegethoff class ships weren't so famous were they? -
There you are. POI is not something people should get banned over, if some people are annoyed by it or not.
-
This wouldn't only work, it makes actual sense. More as having surface fleet engagements where subs are supposedly a dynamic responsive force working under the same chain of command as all the other classes. And besides that, I would find such scenario's immersive and in line with historical events.
-
Put up some replays with your 'call outs' I bet they are either not fit to be put in the 'call out' category or you just been lucky you haven't been reported. While I am not claiming this still applies now, when this system was added it was possible to report anyone who used chat and if a certain threshold was met a 1d chat ban was given out automatically. Only 3 day and longer chat bans have always been applied after manual review. So yes, I was chat banned for starting a bunch of games with 'POI' and nothing else.
-
WG says these bans almost never happen.... I'm not sure anymore, most of the chat bans I am running into atm are probably deserved considering the mentality of playerbase refusing to even acknowledge how bad they are even in comparison with me let alone a really good player. That would actually make sense, and explain why more and more people seem less interested in their own performance claiming it's not going to matter anyway. And I agree, it's those close fights which make me come back for another game, not the games which are won or lost in less as 10 minutes let alone 5.
-
Always expect enemy to report you if you played well and used chat, it sadly seems to happen regardless.
-
You think it's reasonable when you say you press battle and are not even trying to win, but instead press battle to just 'have fun' and yet you complain about the response you get How about I repeat I would like those people to stay in coop or operations instead, where they don't impact the environment of people who do play this game to have fun WHILE TRYING TO WIN THE GAME. Your line sounds like the BS excuse I hear from Kevin the BB player sailing accross the map border because 'he has fun doing it', while he ruins every teams chance to actually play for the OBJECTIVE of the game -> win. It's a total failure of an 'argument' to claim that playing to win is 'not fun' while ruining the environment of those who do, would qualify as 'fun'. Towards those players who ruin the game, yes ofc. It's nothing worse as cheating/botting and all the other ways to grieve others. My description of these players as single cell organisms might be blunt, I think it applies very well. And that's not ad hominem at all. What status quo? Please elaborate, I'm VERY curious. Don't tell people they are playing wrong, don't offer people advice, and don't use chat to tell people what you think of their contributions to the team -> you still can get chat banned don't worry
-
Indeed, but it does result in more landslide victories and loses, and those are demoralizing even for good players. I can't stand more as a few losses in a row, not because they are losses but why they are losses. If I keep playing in that state of mind I'm not going to play well myself -> I play less games. And to get a good feeling for the game, you need to play ships repeatedly ( I used to play a single ship sometimes for an entire session, only switching to comparable play style ships when I died early ( so my ship would probably be locked for some time in battle ). I know this is personal, and it might not or probably does not apply to (many) others, but this is what it does to me And I know, I can play in divisions and this all goes away. But I don't like the concept of only having an enjoyable experience when playing in divisions. edit: Players don't communicate because players are unwilling to listen to advice since it implies they are doing something wrong ( and this hurts their pride / ego ). Chat ban system afaik is a sliding scale, the more reports you get the faster the next ban would apply. This is only true for 1 day ban's which are automated, 3 day and longer bans are afaik only applied after a manual review.

Well... it appears that the "Hosho" will be nerfed soon...

But not from full hp,. as your torps lack the alpha bringing them below 75% hp ;) -
It's not entirely true though, there are more worse players yes, but this also changed meta so that it's harder to carry the mouth breathers on your own team.
-
This is [edited], bad players can have fun while trying to play well, it's just a bs excuse. The problem is that WG has an economy which doesn't force those single cell organisms to actually l2p. And this way baddies can have their 'fun' while still not even WANTING to improve. Can you play coop then please, k thanks bye. It is bad gamedesign that players who should be playing coop or operations are allowed by economy in randoms. Anyone who does not press battle with the clear intend to WIN THE FFIN GAME is imho a piece of scum ruining the game for everyone else just because he/she is so ffin selfish that he/she thinks that their allies are less important then their sense of 'fun'. These are the BB's which go around sailing along the map border being abso ffin lutely useless.
-
4 BB''s per side, game is decided based on which side fails to support their team more 6 ships chasing a BB at the edge of the map ( what would a DD be doing there... you just said they fight in the caps... ) like dogs that saw a cat a BB captain is so prone to being a total failure right up to the point where everyone in their team is dead and they still have the audacity to blame their team for dying before they did....
-
I know why. I know why, you been a naughty boy in chat!
-
So if there are no circles how else would I know where WG wants me to sail my ship? And it's not even the dumb representation, it's the whole concept which is stupid and flawed. Submarines were not part of combined fleet operations, and in the ONE exception they were involved it still took moving on the surface during an entire night to get into a launch position by dawn... after already been laying in ambush for who knows how long. Subs in WWII were intended to disrupt enemy shipping primarily, depict that in some nice scenario gameplay and stop this absolute unhistorical crap they are trying to shove down our throats because some fungus seemed to have thought having submarines would be 'fun'.

It's not a nerf, dear sir, it's a feature we are introducing on a delayed schedule. -
Both CV's and submarines already are a total failure, and that's leaving out how toxic it will be when destroyers just ignore submarines since they weren't grinded or bought to go chase circles with.... edit: I find you boring as well @Greyshark don't worry
-
You guys look at this totally wrong. WG uses a keyhandler routine like all programs do. WG has a scenario start event, which tells the client which ship is being loaded. It should NOT that hard to write an extra check, one which has a collection of ship name's and per ship custom keybindings, and which on this event overrides the 'default' global keybindings with the one's you set for your particular ship, before the scenario/map is actually started, reverting them back to 'default' when the game ends.

Ow I wouldn't know about tst, WG doesn't let me on it. But yes, 'blind shooting' using map indicator only if sub pings you being called a straight up counter =

You're complaining about random player distribution?

Well yes, it's indeed 'eff the whole ffin reeework' Nothing it said it wanted to fix is fixed, and as a 'side effect' babybotes aren't getting devstruck even if 100% trash plays it. -

But you can not claim a ship is not broken if the best players consistently are able to do what they do with them, and the worst thing from the other perspective is that there is literally nothing you can do against it. With the new 'improvements' everything important like DFAA has been made into a simple dps calculation, you can't disrupt a drop, and your dps only matters if the enemy is bad enough to catch a lot as flak as well. Flak btw, which spawns without user interaction. -

I would never attempt to 'stat shame' you, you're one of our forumites who's opinion I highly respect. Just wanted to say that, as it almost looked like you were a bit defensive which in my opinion is not needed at all. Yup. No it is what the ship does in hands of a good player, it's like meeting an Enterprise, with a bad player it's already bad but with a good player you have no real mitigation at all. -

Yeah I'm not even sure if it would be representable unless you also played on PTS, otherwise 5 games seems a bit shallow to draw conclusions on. -

Well then rework is proven to be a bigger failure, as this just shows skill gap increased. Ask @El2aZeR how top players perform in ships like those. Playing low/mid tiers is fine, I like those tiers as well more as tier X really. But I have seen an increase in really bad players along with the increase in seal clubbers due to RB. Nothing changed, we got new players which are really crap and we got more seal clubbers, and we got a MM which is random and which sometimes makes balanced games but often makes landslides which are annoying to both sides. -
= not an actual counter. Btw, if they don't ping you, you're still getting hit unless you WASD or they are potato ( though not so hard, no citadel dmg ).
