I stopped paying for premium time because they were treating the BB overpopulation very wrongly, imho. I did buy some santa boxes later on... bad call. I should be a prime target for their demographics, as I've already invested a lot and I am a loyal return customer. Well, I was until they ignored community feedback and still pushed the next crutch for BBSteve. There are still enough lines for me to grind, and new content being added, I would grind those faster with premium time. But hey, WG likes BBSteve more then they like me. Look at how WoWp went when they removed any skill progression / leaning curve. It's not all doom and gloom for games which actually offer depth of gameplay. I would even play the old WoWs if it were subscription based.

Yeah, people like me have invested nothing in the game and WG never made any money out off us. Ow wait... And yeah people like me just cry, and never offer constructive criticism or anything like that. People like me never offer any reasoning to their standpoints, no we just ' cry' . And people like me don't even understand game mechanics at all so why should WG listen to people like me? Ow wait....

I put you on ignore earlier, I have to watch my ' arguments ' on forum as some BBKevin's been reporting me and the mods don't like it. I'll fix that asap ;) edit: done.

It doesn't need to be a priority, Imperator isn't sold because one on the enemy team already is not really fair if you your team doesn't have one ( I btw think I can handle one in most ships depending on the skill of the player, my Arkansas has comparable win rate as my Imperator ). But you also just proved my point. WG said this skill is for DD hunters ( aka CA's / CL's and some DD's ). And you admitted it would not be picked by a lot of them. It would be picked by USN DD's though to negate the better concealment of IJN DD's ( yes I might not sound impartial, I do play / have played IJN DD's ). And on PTS, I did meet BBKevin's with the skill, people who hated being in late game scenario where their team is dead due to their own selfish back line camping, and then wanted a diaper to help with surviving against my DD's. The skill is broken in concept. CA's don't need WallHack to hunt DD's, they need fewer BB's so they aren't insta focused and killed when they play aggressive near their allied DD's. And USN DD's are already performing better then high tier IJN DD's, so why would they need another aid? This skill also won't change to more dynamic gameplay is my believe, but will in fact only strengthen the static playstyle we already had. Anyway I said this more elaborate in other threads already and I feel like a broken record repeating it ad nauseum RDF isn't ' fine ' but I would be able to live with it it was added for a correct reason and it just isn't. That removes my trust in the developers understanding the meta of their own game, and what causes it. The fact that there is so much PR spin to make it sound feedback was overwhelmingly positive is also ticking me off, yeah it's positive because the wider but only 4 point skill tree is a big improvement. But every single poll on every single region showed the majority of the players are against RDF. And there been enough arguments given to support this dislike but the whole community is ignored. And then they post a thread asking for more feedback on RDF I'm sorry if I sound like it's triggering me, because well it does. And the only way to not have it trigger me is to stop playing and just look at the forums and hope for a change. Rather sooner then later because I do already miss my daily shot of WoWs, it's quite addictive. But I don't want to stay hooked on a drug which I know will turn into poison in the not that far future. I would feel like I was on Titanic playing in a band on a sinking ship...

Thanks for not holding a grudge

Why do you even reply to this? He hides his profile

And you been replied to in every other thread I believe. Like, how Imperator Nikolai isn't an issue since most BB's are not Imperator Nikolai's. edit: you' re rehashing iChase's point: it's bad but it's ok since not everyone will have it. And that is a very very skewed view on the matter.

I just don't feel like playing. Even the sealclubbing which I did look forward to as I hoped it would have sufficient impact just seems useless. What if I scare away some new people, WG will see I'm still playing and claim it's because the game is still fine. Not playing seems the only actual way to make a point I hope sufficient people follow suit, and I severely hope that 22nd tournament will also show how crap this new skill is ( even if it's totally unrelated to randoms, and even when the main problem isn't even the skill itself but their flawed reasoning behind it ). It they just admitted the RDF was to keep BBSteve happy and paying I would have accepted it, but all this pr and marketing spin is throwing me off completely.

Struggle making the Akizuki work, looking for tweaks. A discussion...

He is far from useless and my avg damage shows that switching between he and ap on appropriate times results in higher average damage Especially on PT with IFHE which allows you to wreck even angled enemy higher tier DD's, something you will struggle with with AP ;) The loss of fire chance was well worth it, but I did compensate that with flags and DE and I am not sure it would fir in full stealth and AAA support build. -
*picture me eating a nice sock sandwich* You are correct, that was an ad hominem remark. I found the OP maybe a bit overdramatic but his point was valid. And for me the posts attacking him over it was also filled with ad hominem. You reap what you sow is the saying I believe? Which makes me just as bad as the one's I was condemning. Still more classy imo then this ' you mom and the guys from the day center ' ( not something you said ), but hey, you're right and I will apologize on the spot right now. You're fully entitled to not agree with OP or with me, and how you give notice of that disagreement is up to you as well. Just don't expect to change people's mind about anything without trying to have an argumentative discussion but focus on emotional responses ( which, again, was also my first reaction in this thread ). I've since redeemed myself imo though, as I've argued exactly why I have the convictions that I have and what they are based on in subsequent posts.

But you are already a good player, so yes you could abuse the hell out of the new BBKevin buffs! And the actual BBKevin's still camp in the back because they don't know how to do what you did. And the worst is, they don't listen when you tell them because they take it as in insult if someone else tells them something about their gameplay I really want to emphasize something so don't mind me quoting myself -> Sure this was CBT and the were limited people so you met the same one's pretty often and that helps with a sense of community. This is a team based game, but with a community which isn't a community anymore

Hey I even won't join the sealclubing brigade, I just cba to play the game at all. But yeah, there were quite a lot of people on discords and on forum who had the same idea as me; if wg ignores us to retain more new players who don't want to learn the game, maybe they would rethink their actions if they noticed that new player retention was actually going down instead of up I admit it was a bit out off spite as well, and frankly that's not a good reason. That's probably why right now I just feel like I should let them see for themselves how it turns out. Without me playing, even without me seal clubbing the new people and trying to disrupt their experience just to further my point on WG ;) But, mobilizing to action isn't limited to organizing seal clubbing sessions, it's also not playing. I hope many people will decide the same as I did, and try some other games for a while. Maybe enough people feel the same way to send a clearer message to WG then the ' irrelevant ' forum community feedback on the addition off WallHack, and the general catering of the game to BBKevin/BBSteve ( you know Steve the IS7 driver who joined WoWs en masse ). The class synergy we had in CBT is down the drain and the steps WG is taking to restore it are counter productive. That makes me sad, and also upset yes, as I invested a lot in this game and I thought it would be a good investment and it's proven to be a very bad one. Also, we disagreed on things before, and I understand you want to come up for your mates and that is fine, but the ad hominem has not come from me and I feel a bit sad for them that they think this affects me as I really couldn't care less about them or their opinion and that's only because of how they try to push their views without being able to actually accompany them with arguments. I got nothing against people who don't agree with me, but people with so little intellect that they resort to ad hominem to save face are really saddening and I hope for them they get some help for their personal issues. Now, I'm not really a dictator, dictators don't use arguments. Because people who use arguments can be persuaded to change their minds through counter arguments. And dictators by definition aren't persuadable to change their minds ;)

I <3 the 4 point max new skill tree, it's great It's RDF which is just a failure, and the BBKevin buffs which aren't needed at all ( because the reasoning behind it is flawed ).

Did you read what I wrote? I guess not. 3 DD's is not any issue, it's actually imo the perfect number for a domination match, four would be passable but only if there are even more cruisers in the game and then less BB's. It's unlikely they would all focus you and you should be willing to take a torp if needed to support your team that is why you have damage control party to stop any flooding and a repair party which heals your hp pool. You can't expect your cruisers to deal with the DD's while you camp behind them, you need to be within 5 km from where you want your cruisers to be as then you're actually dangerous enough to the enemy BB's to force them to focus you while your cruisers can do their job and assist you in dealing with enemy BB's and protect you from CV and DD attacks. That's class synergy, and you being in the back because there are DD's on the enemy team removes this synergy. Again, I don't blame you personally, if I play a BB solo and I look on the minimap I often also have to stay in the back as my cruisers are not around to help me push. BB's can't bear the focus of an entire team, they need support just as much as they need to give it to others. The only reason the ' whine ', as you call it, focuses around the BBabies is the sheer number of them, and the fact that they are the easiest to blame. They have the highest survivability and they should use that. Even when I'm in my BB and I don't get CA/CK support, I can't always blame them because there are only 3 CA's in the game and the rest if BB's with 2 or 3 DD's. Then the cruisers would be mad to push in within 13km from a bunch of angry looking BB's. WG responses so far, by giving BBKevin more and more diapers, is not working. BB's don't have to be self sufficient. There just need to be less BB's in each game. Class synergy depends on a healthy class distribution. And with class synergy, players naturally support each other more.

I had Fractured Space installed but to many games where people left mid game, that was really the worst imo. I been playing Atlantic Fleet a bit ( well a bit... jezus 9h+ straight and I was still in 1940 on the campaign ).

I thought I would feel like sealclubbing to make a point.. but I'm not even feeling up for that. I got me captains ready in all their right ships, cleaned up my port and barracks prior to the patch and I will leave it exactly as it is now. The only time I will log in is the 22nd, and after that I will likely reclaim my ssd space. I will come back maybe, certainly if WG finally admits they should have listened to community instead of disregarding 80%+ of people having objections to this new ' crutch ' for bad players. Already reinstalled MWO, Mechs r kewl ok thx bai. edit: Survey didn't allow specific feedback for WallHack, don't believe all the PR spin marketing talk they're spouting out.

RDF is a new 4 point skill which adds an indicator on your hud to the closest enemy ship. Using concealment for flanking / ambushing / sneaking past ships to get a cap in late game, it's all gone. And the reasoning behind the skill is pretty shaky imo. But if you want a good thread, yee wow I posted in so many I wouldn't be able to point out ' the best one '. Guess you will have to search around. I logged onto MWO forum for the first time in ... idk... a LONG time. I also think my son who has played my account with my persmission a couple off times might have sold / reconfigured some of my mechs so I'm not very happy atm I'm also low on cash and as I mistakenly got the assault Atlas as founder Mech ( which has premium income multiplier ) instead of something in the support role which I like a lot more, I'm actually not looking that forward to playing MWO either. Because I think I suck at playing my Atlases ( got two variants )... I rather play my Jenner but that wouldn't make me a lot of credits quickly... I am also afraid that there been so many changes that the moment I press battle I will look like the noob I actually also am Last time I played I already noticed not many people were queuing up alone anymore..

I was such a baddie when I started playing! Want to know what made me suck less? In game chat. Every match, talking about what we were going to do. Admitting I was a bit of a scrub. And you know what, it were the better players which coached me through my initial learning curve. I didn't know many people really so it wasn't like now with the 'Forumites' and so on. It were perfect strangers, and sure sometimes something was said and I was like: screw you guys I'm going home doing something else. But it was almost always polite, and communication was actually used as a tool to help other people. Try doing that now... XVM wouldn't help, you can try it for yourself ( wows-stats it's not directly xvm but it works if you have a dual monitor setup or if you network share your game folder and install it on a laptop or something ). It would only create more situations where people cross the entire map to the other flank because that is where the ONLY other player with 50%+ would be. It would also enhance elitism which is what would not solve the problem but increase it. There should be a way to indicate to everyone that getting advice on how to play is not the same as being insulted, somehow people should be willing to accept advice. Which isn't easy as when I got better and better ( very slowly ) there were more and more situations where I also thought: mhmm maybe I know better then you. Which in some cases I did and in others I did not. An indication of ' rank ' or anything, relative performance on a certain ship, like the gunmarks on WoT, would perhaps be a lot better then XVM which would be abused. Gunmarks, well no one attacks people in chat ( I think..?? ) " ow you scrub you only have one gun mark wow such a noob ". While if people see someone with 3 gun marks they usually do realize that player plays that tank pretty ' gud '. I think this would be better then XVM, and better for the game. I just am not sure if BBkevin would listen to anyone in game, I think BBKevin only listens to BBKevin's mom.

Patch 0.6.0 Patch Notes - RPF is still a thing
mtm78 replied to StuntMan0369's topic in General Discussion
I don't know what happened but I saw a quote where 70% answered in the survey the new skills would be detrimental to gameplay. That is what I commented on. And no there is no rigging in survey eligability as I got the invite but I didn't fill it in. Not the first time btw,, I keep forgetting to check my pop3 mailbox for the old email my WG account is linked with. Besides, I reconed they would take my forum feedback as just as important as the survey, and YES btw, ofc the questions in the survey are made such they can be interpreted how they want, that is what all companies do and WG is no angel. -
I wouldnt' say perfect, if only for the reason that's it's hard to judge it when there are no 'perfect' class distribution matches happening much lately But it's far from bad when each class has a decent population per game, so I would call it ' pretty good '

Struggle making the Akizuki work, looking for tweaks. A discussion...
mtm78 replied to Gjor's topic in General Discussion
I don't have a sufficient amount off battles to really use my playstyle as guide, but I feel playing as support is the way to make her work. Sorry I can't be more specific, but with only 24 games win rate isn't telling much and damage isn't the best method of judging a DD's performance ( well not in a support role as it's more about completing the objectives, and what you deal the damage to ). What is one of the most fun aspects though is how BB;s are so scared of you, I had multiple top tier BB's turn back when only I was shooting them constantly from stealth. They could have easilly kept pushing as the fire chance isn't that high and the damage is 100% regainable, but they were scared off by the 4x2 100mm spam which I find very funny And it rips apart DD's. I even beat ships like a Belfast in a straight up gun fight ( he kept shooting HE when I was unloading AP at his broadside -> my DPM >>>>> his DPM ). The only drawback I found is when you are matched as only or one of two DD's in a domination. If spearheading the ship is bad, you can't evade torpedo's with the atrocious turn circle. -
[edited] Ow and.. But have fun with your topic
-
Thanks for proving the skill doesn't work as intended, if it did an enemy cruisers with RPF or and enemy gunboat DD would have prevented you from having a decent game
-
I kinda like the Brit way of communication, even though it's sometimes hard for other people to actually understand ->
