Everyone plays for fun. The 'I play for fun' guys are those who when you tell them how to win a game respond in chat: "Feck off naab, I play for fun go tryhard somewhere else". It's actually: "my stats suck and I insult people who want to help me suck less so they might not lose games when I am on their team, and then I end with: but I play for fun so it's ok". Like the 40% wr Fiji which I met a couple of times already, yes 40% account win rate who every game starts to ramble in French about how I'm the noob and not him, just because I once in a game told him how useless he was.

183k in Donskoi, by far my best game yet. And the Yamato in my team was calling me a noob and a coward ( I think.. most of it was French ). A Yamato player thinking a Donskoi should go in close range with an enemy Yamato focusing him throughout 3/4 ot the match until I burned him down... Then we had people in the end who told me the last enemy ship, a Zao, had torped me, but the Zao never had the angle to actually do so. They were right in that he wanted to ram me in the end, but the torpedo angles on Donskoi are lot more favourable then on Zao Spend most of the match at 16km or more from the enemy BB's, but it seems that is the best way to get good results. IFHE + still decent fire chance = win ( I think off Donksoi as Zao's less stealthier ( because being taller, like long and skinny not more muscles just tall ) brother ). -

You had a better chance of being right if I wouldn't win more matches then a large majority of players, so I must be doing something right.... Ofc, at the start bar CV's the DD's are the eyes of the fleet and I do play for the victory so I don't neglect my duties. But I don't need to stay in front when the enemy DD's are taken care of or in another location, I can then keep some more distance and just help my team by doing damage and reacting to changes in the battle. -

I like nail biters and it was a nail biter for sure. I thought I was dead at least 3 times, last time I barely got around the island and away from I think the Chappy which had more hp and was IFHEing the crap out of my poor bow on Donskoi. If that island wasn't there I would have died and wouldn't have gotten that kill on the low hp Fletcher. But team probably would have won, the FdG was playing extremely well on his own holding off some DD's and a cruisers. All luck no skill -

Using five guns while keeping a decent angle is impossible most of the time you will use four. Unless in smoke or not needing to maintain a decent angle. Doesn't mean it's not a better destroyer them Kiev by a large margin. edit: forgot a 'not' -
The point is effective be ineffective for game objectives. Talking about battleships which snipe and refuse to do their other required aspects is not the same as saying a gunboat destroyer doesn't always have to be in the front line if it is not required by the game objectives. Battleships can risk being in front more due to their armor and heal. Which is not elitist in any way, it's about effectiveness in completing game objectives and winning games

Grinding Kiev atm... and ow boy do I wish I could play Leningrad to get to Tashkent instead The guns are better on Kiev, but the rest is just... blergh! It's not, well not like Gremy is, but compared with Kiev it has a lot more utility. Kiev plays like a light cruiser, you can't really contest caps with it and you don't have usable torpedoes either. -

There is ONE problem with pointing out survival being key... it's that bad players who already were useless will now use that be even more passive and use their teams as meatshield even more. Survival is key only holds true for capable players who are dying because they are still a bit overly aggressive. We don't need sub 45% wr and matching 45% survival rate or higher BBaby saying: I need to survive longer because someone really good told me this. -

WG should add better tooltips, gunboat DD's don't have to be in front of people if they can do their job from behind you... Why would I risk my hp when I can use my gun's from a range where I can actually survive? Ofc, this doesn't apply to tomato's who can't hit stuff. -
Never had sessions as bad as this, and I've played on morning pretty often if not most of the mornings It's I think Kiev in combination with bad luck getting all the terrible players on my team for the past few days, more then normal, and not being able to compensate for it due to Kiev being matched as DD while it's just a light cruiser in reality ( in game reality ). Don't do that How about removing the equal credit income for winning and losing, and making it so you get 25% income when you lose. That would surely motivate people to actually try to win

I hated my DD's, the two on our flank were just terribad ( mahan suicide rushed instantly, Kiev went on 10 line and died without being even remotely useful ). Then none of the DD's from other flank used minimap or read chat and came back to spot on other flank, and my Donskoi can not fight at close range with BB's not even lower tiered one's, it just melts instantly. So I had to keep running and delaying as well as I could, and I was lucky that I could kill that lone DD trying to cap A late game since I did not have the HP left to confront those ships chasing me. Was quite the thrilling match And I would have tried to radar you more if not every time I got spotted I got the focus off ALL ships in your team capable of shooting at me... hope you didn't have anything to do with that -
Btw 20% win rate session so far... guess I should just stop.. but it's NOT my fault my avg dmg is good and my tactical positioning is also not the issue. The only thing is that with Kiev I can not contest cap zone's as good as with my other DD's due to lacking concealment and I keep getting teams which ignore objectives.... and I can't correct that in a darn Kiev but I need to grind VMF DD's before the line split so I'm stuck with seeing my win rate dropping I guess

It was a smug remark, I don't mind the report for it though I don't think it's chat abuse rather perhaps unsportsmanship behavior or something ( if that even applies to how you kill enemies ). It's like those sub 45's don't even realize what those circles are on the map Really, I don't mind bad players, I do mind absolut stupidity. btw next game -> We also had a Yamato which called me a naab ( well it was in French again but I guess the 'clean version' would be close to what I just said ). edit: https://github.com/wows-stats/wows-stats -> not a mod, stand alone application only usefull if you got multi monitor setup or if you have a laptop you can use on the side. Shows players in your current battle using the temp file made by the replay system. Read the documentation, it's not a one click setup I am also not sure how useful it is, it's more fun looking at comments in chat and then glancing over to the stats of that person. I rarely see good players throw around insults... though ofc that Kagero did play a reasonable game ( he had some wide spread launcher where I thought... well enemy is sailing into them but I don't think you're doing it right ).
-
^^^^ Except that I don't think enemy team had fun either, no challenge steamroll victories are almost just as bad as being on the losing team. At least I got almost as much xp as half of the winning team being top in my team, which should indicate it was for them also not that great ( considering my lousy <30k dmg and single kill + 1 cap ). Btw next game -> He pinged on H1 at start of the game that it was where we should go.... he was using his spotter plane throughout the match and sniping at enemy team. Problem is he was fourth in the team with XP so he probably thinks it his bad teams which are losing him so many games

Damnit I was wrong, it's both world of subhuman players and cowards.. Look on minimap... and score board All those other ships are still at full HP at this point. All of those players have a sub 45% win rate, one even below 40% ( guess which one ). Ow and that one kill I got at that enemy Sims... yes you guessed it, it was the only kill my 'team' got edit: I am starting to blame the missions, previously really bad players would stick to low tiers where their inability to do anything remotely useful to their team was usually covered up by the inexperience on the enemy team. Last few days it seems they are ALL playing in the same teams as me instead, much fun very wows!

This isn't world of cowards, this is world of bad players who abuse the report system. GG wg GG edit: ofc Fiji ended bottom of team I didn't even say anything to that player this game ( I did in a previous one I am sure as I remembered the French insults and the name as well as his awesome performance indicators ). I also got reported by an enemy BB player which I said to stop repairing single fires... that's what you get for giving helpful ( be it smug... ) advice
-
Well close range dispersion for BB's was already buffed in recent patches, as I said BB's who have issues with deleting close up cruisers mostly suffer from bad aim
-
Close range BB's have no issues dealing with angled or bow on cruisers, other then bad aim or unlucky dispersion. Myoko is the best armored tier 7 cruiser but it can't stop BB shells from frontal citadels based on armor alone.

Well they give a perk which removes a lot of skill in how you handle fires, but with this flooding change it becomes even more important to properly manage repair party. It seems they want to please both the people who are complaining about the overpopulation of BB's because they are to easy to play, but also want to please the people playing them, and that at the same time. It's more confusing then gentle tbh True, not much dodging going on at sub 10km no matter the rudder shift time. -
They didn't only inflict heavy damage on isolated BB's they could also force BB's into turns even if they were not isolated. AAA currently is buffed to the point where isolated targets can be effective ( when equipped with brain, and RNGesus being kind ). Overlapping AAA right now is just suicide for CV's to send their planes in.

Well if a cruiser has a BB in tanking distance and is caught showing broadside it is their own fault no? The whole point of having a tank in your team is to make sure he is the most attractive target, so just don't show broadside. The problem is that we have to many lolpen citadels on properly angled cruisers. And I'm not talking about Yamato shells, but just BB's in general. And that bow on meta is only there because of nerfs to DD's, introduction of radar, and CV's being not as numerous as they should. CV's can force BB's to turn, and a most BB's love shooting enemy broadside BB's because of the big damage potential. DD's could more easilly force BB's to turn and present an attractive target for their team members as well. Both of those are not as good currently as they once were. This has less to do with the armoring of BB's but with historical hit ratio's. Broadside just gave the biggest chance of scoring the first hit, and most BB shells would be capable of inflicting decapacitating damage on enemies, so getting the first hit was of higher importance then it is in game.

More than 3 months since release, and Royal Navy smoke is still buggy as heck
mtm78 replied to Kassiba's topic in General Discussion
No one else thinks this is scary as RN CL's from tier 6 upwards are already performing quite high in the statistics, and with this change to make smoke easier to use they will just become better. Won't be long for something else will get nerved on them if their performance will go up due to this. -

No the benefit of Murmansk has always been the rudder shift, playing Murmansk and then Marblehead is like driving a sportscar and then switching to an suv in terms of how well you could dodge incoming fire. Murmansk also has better krup value due to using 'late war' AP shells while Marblehead uses the bad one's. -
Not only that, BB's also serve a TANK role which they are neglecting when sniping from max range ( with their spotter planes.... on German BB's... ). They are selfish, bad players, BB's who snipe.
