  1. That's not a solution either, lower tier BB's have higher dispersion anyway so the ingame scaling isn't the issue for me at all.

  3. Both indirect, through lowering effectiveness of other classes, and direct by lowering their concealment debuff value to match their gun range. The compensation, as explained by Sub_Octavian, is a 5% dispersion buff to the concealment module. Somehow I don't see this as a good trade You get a like because I see humor which made me chuckle, not because I agree

    Taking out enemy DD's = teamplay. Team which loses their DD's early is 99% the team which loses the battle since, as you keep pointing out, they don't have DD's doing the scouting for them.
  5. If you actually didn't cherry pick comments you would have quoted me saying GE and VMF are actually more buffed then nerfed by this change, with other DD's being spotted they take less focus. But other then that, look at how popular GE DD line is? See an issue there? Removal of SF ability is ok, I didn't feel it was needed as it never was an issue which bothered me a tiny bit, but the implications this change has for DD's which contest cap zone's, beat the other DD and should return to be stealthed but aren't for another 20 seconds due to someone else being in their max gun range... those are huge. Basically it means you can't spec into long range shooting if you want to contest cap zone's, it will only hinder you. It means Gearing can't take AFT to boost it's AAA consumable, since it will just blow his own concealment debuff through the roof.
  6. I only tried Akizuki and up to Yugumo, and VMF up to Kebab. Kebab is fine, whole VMF line is fine. Guess Grozovoy is also a bit harder. But IJN is a lot trickier, and it's not just how I feel I have to play personally, it's a general observation on how other people are playing the objectives less. Most IJN DD's were the first to go for a cap zone, due to their concealment advantage, I just don't see other do it. And IJN was the line which already benefitted the most off AFT, because they could stealth fire and had good arcs and nice fire chance, this is now gone. I still see plenty of IJN DD's on PTS but they are a lot more passive and act like they used to before the gun buff. USN might be not influenced a lot if you don't have AFT, but why mount AAA consumable on Gearing if you can't enhance it with AFT? Sorry but there are a lot off issues I see, and they might not be game breaking they are still problematic. Sure, you don't NEED to spec your USN DD for AAA, but WG has given it the option so anything which now makes taking that option less attractive is 'weird' to say the least, at least without any compensations. Did Gearing shoot down to many planes? If the answer is no, the effect of this change should be unwanted. As to German DD's, I think I seen maybe 5 of them in total which is strange as the other DD's being spotted should actually buff them ( beside the actual ship buff the tier X got ).
  7. Have you even BEEN on the PTS? Doesn't sound like it. PTFO? You mean go for objectives? Yeah works perfectly, when you get spotted by enemy DD you are visible for 20s EVEN AFTER you kill the DD, or AFTER he smokes up during the fight since his friends 15km from you still spot you ( giving the smoked up DD a free radar... same effect! ). People on PTS don't play objectives, they stay the hell away from them edit: just to add again: I don't mind not being able to stealth farm BBabies, it's not that effective anyway. It's about how you CAN NOT actually PTFO without making the game more smoke dependent.

    Luckily it was a fluke, next game domination with a noob team ( hiding on H line ) and couldn't impact game at all. And yeah first screenshot was the INTENDED performance, I was actually helpful to my team even if I had to leech from them. Problem is when your team is crap you can't do anything, unlike in any other class or in a Kiev for instance. edit: btw notice my dmg distribution? Couldn't attack BB's at all. Just a Hindenburg which LET me shoot his broadside, and a Kebab which was distracted by our Gearing. I couldn't engage enemy BB's at distance with HE, because a> 15s flight time at max range is dodgeable by anything but maybe a CurryWurst or Yamato and you don't want to be much closer since you can't evasion tank at all. And no, dispersion buff to BB's doesn't help, since maps are to small to engage BB without getting shot at by all his allies, something you could skillfully do with stealth fire ( positioning took skill, no matter the crying that it didn't ). And it's not the BB shooting back which bothers me, it's all his allies, so the increased dispersion by the BB doesn't help at all. And the increased dispersion of CA/CL and even gunboat DD's on enemy team just makes sure evasion tanking is even harder. .

    Akizuki game on PTS, only tier 8 so people ignored me a lot -> Montana tried to shoot me at ~13km but missed. The only other ship to really try and shoot me was the Hindenburg but that was after he let me shoot his broadside with AP for a long time already. And my own DD's ( I mean, the one's which can turn and evasion tank ) actually spotted and player aggressively in the front. I choose on purpose to follow them and not go act as spotter for the other flank, and it paid off. Which doesn't proof anything, first of all all my dmg was at targets which were distracted, Kebab was fighting a gearing and I was in ambush so I could AP his broadside, Hindenburg was engaging Yamato and could not angle his broadside away from me. All in all, Akizuki is turned into a leech, it has to leech of his team doing the spotting and tanking, while it preys on distracted enemies. The moment the enemy team would have actually focused me, the game would have turned out a lot different. Just as this wasn't a domination match where DD's are expected to contest caps. And we all know how many times you actually find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow... I'm still afraid to keep playing a bit lol, maybe WG sees the 'statistics' and decides that it's performing as it should

    Leningrad with CE though is perfectly capable of contesting cap zone's. It a nice hybrid ( unlike Kiev which is a pure gunboat for instance ). edit: but you're right, these ships are not the one's which will suffer.

    The only real difference between Minsk and Leningrad is the torpedo armament, the rest is just soft stats which have almost no influence on gameplay. So if you think Minsk is going to be crap due to gun rotation speed, so will Leningrad suffer the same no? I don't think the dispersion 'fix' would work at all though, it's just adding more RNG to the game. And I'm not that worried about BB's shooting me, it's the cruisers which are between my normal stealth fire range and my max gun range, the one's which normally wouldn't keep detecting me after I finished the enemy DD, the ones which now have 20 seconds longer to shoot at me. When evasion tanking, their dispersion actually allows you to dodge them, making their shells land all over the place just ensures you're getting hit more.

    Even if it WAS coincidental, and I don't think this change can slip through as 'coincidental', it's still bad. And it shouldn't be hard to keep BB's bloom as big as it is now. And it's needed in a healthy environment because BB's are alpha damage monsters and you need to be able to plan and track them over much of the battlefield. They got the armor, hitpoints and heal to cope with being detected further. They don't need this buff, however small it might seem or even is. It's not needed, and a large part of the community is getting fed up with BB popularity so any buffs given to BB's in their ( I am obviously part of this group ) eyes is bad.

    Claiming to have hands on experience about invisi firing based on playing Akatsuki is ... indicative. Should we tell him USN DD's were in game to hunt IJN DD's during CBT? They could smoke and spam HE at BB's but it was IJN which had viable torps. Only later WG gave USN mid/high tier DD's ability to stealth torp. So yeah.. gunboats being in the game to hunt other DD's isn't because 'some geezers found out they are good at it'. They are good at it for a reason, WG intended them to be good at it. But ofc, they spam HE and that is bad for the game right.. all DD's should be torpedo boats, then they don't need good guns to deal with enemies. Talking about having others impose a playstyle And to having a play style which means you counter Belfasts on a regular basis with your Akatsuki and you laugh at them... your stats were public right, so we could go and check if you Akatsuki has higher stats then Belfast? Ow wait... stats are not relevant to the game right, or to what you say.

    +1000 Such a tool, and for all users interested, would give much more conclusive and indicative results, possible also showing correlation between team consistency and 'roll over tendency'.

  24. Meh I bought Atago they day she came out and she helped pay for a lot of tech tree ships and upgrades, she earned her money. Also, she can train my IJN captains and iirc Takao doesn't have premium income? In short, I don't feel stifled about that at all.

    I also don't understand why BB's have to be buffed again ( sorry, I know you think they aren't being buffed at all ), all classes have concealment debuff penalties but BB's are buffed as described above. This wouldn't be a big issue if we had 3 bb's or so per match, but if I have to track every BB and they are only spotted at their max range it makes it a lot harder to plan movement. Minimap with last spotted location is far less valuable as actually seeing the BB ( if inside draw distance ) and knowing which orientation his guns has for instance.
