    Well it would increase survivability on those cruisers if played right ( though... any BB can always just devastating strike you no matter your angle as long as he get's the RNGodz on his side ). Increased survivability means increased effect on game outcome which is the goal of the game. But yeah the issue is in that ability to get deleted no matter what you do UNLESS you hug your waifu's closely or use smoke to conceal yourself. Even if the frequency is low, BBaby needs decent RNG, it's still a gambling game and I don't like gambling game's I like skill. If that means I have to learn how to not get shot as much as possible, that's what I'll do. But I'd rather we moved a bit back to the point where cruisers wouldn't get devastated left and right just because armor mechanics rolled the dice and he come up below the threshold.

  5. Now this would be .... worth testing. But only if WG also starts rewarding DD's for laying smoke ( correctly ), in other ways than just farming win rate. See, there are so many if/but/else/then attached to this mechanical change, all the while WG can much simpler actually make the game more enjoyable by fixing the BBaby infestation.

    Can you ask WG to fix my Belfast, the heal isn't working ;) Also, I don't think tier 7 cruisers need heal, at tier 7 BB's are more manageable. But tier 8 could use it.
  7. We do not have to nerf the effective dpm of anything which can daka daka from smoke. Looking at the numbers we should limit the survivability of BBABIES instead.

    Only a few have repair... Tier 8 cruisers could use that heal as well, and why do VMF DD'S not have a heal from the same tier BB has heal? Also I believe that classes need to supplement each other, instead of becoming more and more self-reliant like bb's have become.

    But Zao AP has bad air drag right? I mean, the AP pen drops hard with range, has to be drag. Otherwise the shells would have better pen at range, and they don't afaik.

    Moskva has higher calliber, USN is the heaviest from the 'normal' 203mm. Also, didn't USN still have better normalization than VMF ( and RN CL's have best together with Hood )?
  12. 1. I am glad you didn't win a Bismarck recently. 2. Your Kaiser is stock, don't judge a ship based on stock performance. 3. You don't dodge torpedoes the moment you hear the alarm, you watch your minimap and you are dodging before you even see the torpedoes ( also, again, stock BB so worse rudder shift ). 4. You're not talking about close range? In a low tier BB? You usually stick 'behind'? You sir, are the worst kind of BB player. You can not SNIPE with low tier BB's, you're supposed to TANK with them at medium distance. 5. You're talking with several people who have a multitude of experience with the game compared with yourself, maybe think about that when you make claims about 'knowing what you're talking about'. Please take this as constructive criticism.

    I'd say Moskva has the highest impact velocity at anything past 5km range?
  14. Blame yourself, your own team, for not counterattacking then, instead of trying to fix a non existing issue which will only favor the BBabies again.

    Ow I CAN play BB's, even when I say I'm bad in them I'm probably still quite above the average player.. just not as well as my cruisers and destroyers. If I totally couldn't play them I would be more hesitant in sharing my opinion about them.

    Everyone makes mistakes, there was no malintent, let's just move on. Coming to think of it, I made an mistake as well since -> ... that is on par with Akizuki ( and with heavier shells they don't bleed as much either I think don't own one so not 100% sure ).

    I also don't agree with his ideas about smoke, but he's being helpful and giving factual information so I don't see the need to ask for individual ships ( OP didn't ask for it either ). That he says that hindenburg has faster shells than Moskva doesn't matter ignore to keep thread on topic?

    So what? So do I, doesn't mean BB's are harder to play. It means I don't enjoy playing BB's as much as I enjoy playing my other classes, and guess what I do better at things I enjoy.

    I know he has them, but he never made lists / diagrams for them. You need velocity/mass/angle/krupp if you want to calculate penetration at any distance.

    Values are not available in the client, but basically it's about air drag, mass and initial velocity ( there are threads about this, one in particular where the penetration values for all gun's are calculated for various distances ). Basically, USN BB shells for instance have low inertial velocity ( just as the 203mm cruisers ) because they use heavy AP shells, but these shells have a very acry flight path and they retain their speed really well due to their mass. The shell flight path and penetration values are closely matching real life calculations.

    Akizuki has 1000m/s starting velicoty ( but very light shells so they slow down during flight a lot ). Kutuzov also has very fast shells. You need to specify which velocity you mean though, initial velocity or impact velocity at different ranges.
  24. I have MK and Belfast and a LOT of DD's which can daka daka from smoke. But I don't see any issue with them as a bunch ( some, like Belfast, need to be toned down though ). What I do have an issue with is clearly visible in my signature. WG wants me to play less ships with smoke generators? Let them fix that first, so I can play my cruisers without smoke and have the same survivability numbers as the BBabies.
