Hopefully the workload causes the mods to not get to grumpy though, that stuff just backfires. Some forum 'disturbance' to make sure the right feedback is being passed up along the chain on the other hand....

Benson is still the better gunboat in cqc, so in a 1v1 with only 400 meter it should win given same competence level captains, or it will bully the Harekaze away ( out of a cap ). But you can play around that, by asking for support in chat beforehand explaining that you will need others to take advantage of the spotting provided. When the Benson opens up you can start to kite away back to your team. if the Benson follow you he will face superior firepower ( plus Harekaze has two rear turrets which you can always use, and the damage and module damage with ifhe will add up ) and if he doesn't well he will be visible for 20 seconds due to his shooting or he will smoke up both of which you can counter. I don't really just judge ships on 1v1 situations, many ships are bad in those but still viable when played in a different way ( and sometimes in that way are better than the one in comparison ). Harekaze doesn't win a direct gun fight at close range with the best cap contester isn't such a big deal. If it were, no one would be playing Kagero's.... ow wait.. wrong argument... sorry :D Harekaze is at the very least a fun ship to play, for me at least. And while I can enjoy playing a bad ship and not do badly in them, I don't think that's the case with Harekaze. As I argued before in this thread, the 100mm are really good and it can evasion tank unlike Akizuki. The -25% dpm might mean that you don't win a close quarter gun fight against a Benson, it can engage a Benson when it's tactically viable to and it doesn't evaporate as quickly as you're making it sound when it does. The profile and agility + kiting ability are not just a gimmick.

Yeah it's like the module on Katori / Yubari / Iwaki, if you mount that and you can't actually aim you're hurting your own damage output. Still, just imagine this: you're in a cruiser, there is a BB which knows how to aim and there is a reason you HAVE to show broadside. Don't argue against it, no matter how much you plan ahead and anticipate enemy movement, you will be showing broadside at some point. And now it's not a chance you die, it's a certainty. That wouldn't be much fun either. Dispersion has a place on battleships, it works with their tanking ability. If we would give BB's the same dispersion as cruisers for instance, you would have to make battleships more vulnerable as well. And even then, accurate battleship alpha capability sounds like a nightmare.

So, which DD has higher damage as a BB? Which DD has a higher survival ratio as a BB? Maybe you should grind some tier X DD's and show us how it's done so easy perhaps? Seriously... No we don't. Why you ask? Well because it breaks class balance. Khaba btw is special, it takes less HE damage due to 50mm armor, so taking more AP damage is a balancing factor. A Gearing however shouldn't get deleted after getting spotted and a 15km away BB decides to roll the RNGesus dice and take a shot. Sure, it should take damage when spotted, from it's intended counters -> other gunboat DD's and cruisers. Not the BBaby 15km away landing two lucky shells and doing absurd damage. A cruiser or a gunboat has dpm but low alpha, a destroyer has low hp but high agility, this works together. Adding in battleships alpha damage to apply against destroyers is not. And this has become more and more an important aspect of destroyer gameplay, especially with the to high numbers of BB's per game. ps: tier X stats showed DD's were on par in games played, not above battleships. Server stats count for more than personal anecdotes. Yeah, this is why WG has said BB's are a problem, they do to much damage and they live to long 4 is better than 5, 3 would be even better ( ow good old cbt where are thou? ). And yes, CV rework would be nice. But it will probably come in 2025 so the cap sounds like the best approach.

If anyone wants to continue running it, I can restore the site and hand over admin rights. I won't mind hosting it at all, that's already paid for anyway. The concept is solid, I know people were enthusiastic about it as well, but I'm just not the person at this time to run this sadly. Wish I were, I think the community deserves an initiative like this, but I can't. @strangers123 I would suggest letting it stay up for awhile still, maybe someone will step up to take over. Maybe even edit the OP to request volunteers to run it idk..

I think the sections will come to live when we get some big events, like Sail Amsterdam. Sadly that is only once every five years but still. I will be going for sure, and I will try and take some pictures. I expected some pics off the battle of the Medway reenactment as well.... we had a forumite confirmed going there. But sadly I haven't seen the pictures yet.

How can it work when WoWs doesn't have a dossier file like WoT does?

That is what I been saying, mxstats uses a custom log parser but it dependent on the output of the client which isn't fixed. ADU analyzes the dossier file which is a data file containing a python pickle of all the players data ( including, for instance, the amount of trees cut down ). It can track credit per match, or damage, because it has access to totals and can track changes. It still needs to have a data file containing things like shell costs, as this info isn't provided in the dossier. It sadly seems to be so that WoWs doesn't store this data client side anywhere.

The only meaningful karma is when you stop breathing. If you got a positive count at that time, you're going up, otherwise down. Karma in this game however means nothing.

Yeah but ADU doesn't analyze the log files ;) WoWs doesn't seem to have a client side dossier file like WoT.

Even those I've picked fights with, not to win a 1v1 but to see if they were stupid enough to follow me into my own waiting team. That's the thing which is fun about this ship, she isn't the best at anything but she can do almost everything ( except being a pure torpedo centered damage dealer... that's the worst role you can try to play with her ). Kiting even stronger DD's is possible, as long as you don't run to far from your own backup. Damnit you're making me want to play the game now
