Smoke has a height of it's own

No it doesn't. 15 seems to be the value representing the 'ceiling' of the actual 'world'. But hey, you can disagree with me again so I'm sure you will :) If no plane actually flies higher than the value this data mined '15' represents , saying smoke is infinite is perfectly valid. Also, I don't see anything official in there, so excuse me for not taking THAT over what I know myself from much more reliable sources.
  2. Well I did read about internal armor layers causing richocets which could cause a shell to damage multiple sections.. Same ( principle ) ( but in reverse ) with how some BB's took too much damage from penetrations because the internal armor layer actually bounced the shells and all it penned was the casemate, yet it was counted heavier. edit: Losing 1/3 of your hp to a BB which caught you broadside sounds actually quite ok.

    anti-air builds getting total useles

Pff, that Kagero is an easy kill ... ow wait, USN carrier.. uhm... idk, quit to port select other ship? Seriously though, I would never advocate griefing ( which is what leaving a match would be ), but in this matchup you're nothing but a scout for your team. Don't think you can strike much except the DD's though.
  4. It penned multiple sections doing damage to them all. Which sounds pretty broken for DD balance...
  5. You mean how BB's should be happy that 3 torps don't lead to this every time :D
  6. A Yamato firing at a DD should never get a full pen, yet I see so many..... Still, BB's with good sigma will still be able to blab DD's with multiple overpen's even if they change the underwater mechanics.

Smoke has a height of it's own

This is how it was explained to me previously. If you're getting spotted it's due to los from outside where the smoke column is blocking it. I never play CV really so I just assumed this was correct. Can't recall any game situation where this has not be true btw, though there can be a delay between planes spotting you while circling so you only get the detected sign when the planes are already behind the smoke column again. edit: if you want a source, not sure who told me this, might have been @Sharana or @strangers123, it was one of the ST carrier 'specialists' though. edit2: the issue with moving planes in the smoke and them spotting a ship which is just leaving that smoke ( so it's within 2km ), this might be an auto aquisition thing like with surface ships.. again, you should verify this with either of them or someone else with more authority, you're not hurting my ego by needing confirmation :)

    Nerf Bloody Cruisers NOW!

Wrong thread for that reply, this is about those nasty cruiser oneshoting every DD with their awesome alpha damage.... ow wait..

Smoke has a height of it's own

That is why I said infinite, smoke is a column, but Islands don't exist in spotting mechanics. It's pretty simple from a development point of view, tracing island contours and checking los with airplanes takes processing power. Better to have universal rules which require least amount of server power..

Where did you see me ask/argue for a BB long range firing nerf?

No, with respect, you're wrong. But you can have your opinion, I don't mind others being wrong, it's a sad fact of life I have come to be at terms with finally. As was explained, the only thing which was an issue is the inability of the players to play as a team. Sadly, after CBT, that whole concept seems to have died off, and with it the natural existing counters to everything which could hurt poor old BBaby... since BBaby cried that carriers deleted them to easy when they sail alone -> BB AAA is now better than cruisers notwithstanding consumable. BBaby cried about IJN torps -> nerf them. BBaby cries about invisi fire -> removed. Now BBaby will start crying about shooting from smoke, and we get the entire BBaby bingo card ticked off finally, and we're back to the original working title of this game: World of Battleships If you're the victim of invisifire then yeah, sucks man. If you did nothing wrong, but your team is full of retarded mouthbreathers, yeah it sucks man. I been invisifired in my Yamato by an enemy DD division, the ffin entire match because my team went to the other flank and let me alone to deal with DD's. But you know what? I tried to close the distance with my team as good as I could, without giving enemy hidden BB's any broadside, and I spend most of that match just managing my consumables and negating most of the damage those DD's were able to inflict on me. Invisi fire was never an issue, not for any of the GOOD players I talked to, and the few which did have an issue with it but weren't potato's never played anything which had to rely on stealth fire at times.
  14. Oops, I just asked and you're right it's a tgirl gremlin trying to pass as an evil pony. Don't know how I mixed those up, I thought all earthlings ponies didn't do any cross dressing like those girls I know from Venus.... anyway, mandatory evil pony picture -> Though, if you're a good boy Shima is going to show you how DD's like to be handled ->

Then BBaby shouldn't have sat at range and let his team die. Problem solved without nerfing everything but BBaby class. Anyway like I said, ship has sailed... 2018 for underwater penetration changes is pretty cautious. It's not like people haven't been warning about this impending meta for quite some time :)
  16. Don't feel sad, we do know. But preceding a lot of those buffs are nerfs ( IJN ) and a line split ( VMF DD's ). Most don't see the changes so far as straight up buffs, more as reparations for previous damage. The USN cruiser buffs were long overdue, KM cruiser buffs well most would have liked a more AP centered 'fix' ( give KM CA's better penetration angles please! ). Anyway, in the end, people are more interested in the results of all the balance changes, and most don't think it's being done right probably because the BB population is still growing when we would like it to slow down or rather yet, decrease. I do like the new Harekaze though, so kudo's to the ones involved in balancing her the way she is now. Finally a premium which is both fun and also not going to get you called a 'p2w player' since the ship traits are quite balanced imo.

Bull, invisi fire was a> situational b> easilly countered in all but a few situations, and in those few it's the bloody BBaby's own friggin fault. But hey, that ship has sailed already, time to let it go.
  18. Lol.... Karma system..... Really... high karma as a requirement for something... edit: that doesn't mean the idea isn't good btw, it is. But don't act like Karma isn't broken in concept, open to abuse and actually quite simular as the forum +-1 we once had. We all remember that WG took that away citing communities ability to self moderate through +-1 was non existent. Then WG introduced the +-1 to the game itself tovarish, because StronkLogic™ comrade!

I can't stick with the BB's, there are objectives my DD's are fighting for and which I have to support to win the match. There are a couple of cruisers on their tiers which are a threat to battleships, most might not agree but Hindenburg doesn't melt that easy and has very good dpm, Zao still burns anything and so on. The problem imo isn't the 1v1 balance ( though in conjunction with objectives and map design, some cruisers do have it rough ) it's mainly the 5 BB's per side which cause the issues. And BB AP on destroyers ofc edit: for completions sake: tier 8 CA's should have a heal or a dpm increase / fire chance increase / concealment debuff buff / something

    Nerf bloody carriers, NOW!

This guy is just utterly sad though, he want's a 'discussion' but you can't use facts, you should keep it at conjunction so he can better 'proof' his point.

    Nerf bloody battleships NOW

That is the whole point. Nah, BB overmatch doesn't care about angling. Though for the most part it's true that angling helps, it tends to help a lot more if you're in a BB yourself. So this citadel placement on the USN BB's ( top tier ), German BB's and supposedly the new RN BB's as well, isn't well below the waterline and well protected? Anyway the issue isn't about tiers, server stats are a clear indication of the issue and it starts at tier 7, peaks at 8 and drops gradually. Now, I don't think BB's can be nerved a lot ( in order to bring down number of games played in them to not break class balance ) because I expect their performance to be different in a 3 BB per side environment then a 5 BB per side environment. Especially now WG has seen that too many gimmicks isn't good for the game, and are not giving more BB's cruiser consumables. I'd rather see the soft limit moved to 4 ( or even 3... ) and just play like that for a few months, as I don't fear 3 BB's per team nearly as much as I do 5 BB's per team. edit: BB AP on destroyers should be fixed though..

What, nothing to proof how OP cv's are? How sad.

    Nerf bloody carriers, NOW!

Valid comment excludes facts like performance indicators? So a carrier can kill a battleship? Omg, we got to call Serb right now! Here let me help you a bit btw.. notice the patina on this helpful guide; it's a real oldie. But, it really works!
