Mhm I did ok up to tier 7 with BB's, then I started to have issues mostly. On low tiers solo carry with a BB isn't that much of an issue really. But I don't play my Yamato solo at all anymore, it's just not fun I feel. I mean, it can be, I had fun in randoms, but not enough to offset the frustration...

Solo cary -> DD mainly or cruiser. Probably CV if you're good enough. BB is to team dependent

Domination is the best mode, simply because it's the most tactical one. Though it can be the most frustrating one if you get the 3 DD's which all ignore cap's, one going for a 'kill enemy CV' mission, the other is a VMF DD spotted from the moon and the last one is a 20km torps FlankingShima™. At least the initial rush makes sure it's somewhat possible to predict what your 'allies' will do. Epicenter - Tears of the Desert -> best map for cruisers ( actually no, it's called Tears of the Cruisers for a reason, big wide open middle just invites cruisers to come under BB crossfire :D ) edit: Sometimes I like standard battle, because it allows you to farm in peace more. But it all just depends on the other players, and how well you play together.

Capping as the only source of xp and credit income... omg that would be so epic, will you try to cap en masse with your team getting a win but no return or do you dare to 'sacrifice' your team trading ships with the enemy so you can get a solo cap in the end perhaps...

Yeah but this also shows that the underwater pen change would have no influence on a lot of instances ( like the 6 overpen's from that German BB ). That will still do the same damage as before. BB AP should do much less damage than it does now, even 'normal' overpenetration is still to high considering you can land a lot of overpens at the same time..

The point is that he shouldn't be your counter, the cruiser is. But hey, screw that right, let's make this Unreal Tournament 2018 ( on water ) where everyone is equal and teamwork goes even further down the drain.

The problem isn't just BB's pushing, it's teamplay. BB's are the easiest to point out for failing at this, but it's done by all classes ( see, my signature doesn't mean I'm biased ) I also see BB's push when they have no DD scouting, no plane's spotting for them or any actual meaningful backup, and it's not the BB's fault as the DD's just aborted and went to a different cap and that cruiser doesn't want to push up without a scouting DD or cv which can spot for him, so the BB is left alone doing nothing. And if you're there, it's impossible to turn tail and run because you're some slow big BB already being lit up by enemy team.

I know it's not fair, but people are giving those answers because we seen it all before ( the same comments, from people with similar accounts as you have now ). I also should have explained what I meant more clearly from the start, it's not good to perhaps give the wrong impression to someone who is actually willing to accept there are more then one side to game balance ). A personal side, which is born out of your perception, the balance made up by all the mechanics ( so a purely mechanical side ) and lastly a side where players have to turn the mechanics into actual gameplay. The 'gimmicks' like smoke are not just there to make your life harder in a BB, they are there because they were implemented due to balance considerations. Mentioning that they 'hurt' one class in favor of others is like asking if farts smell bad ( mine do! ). Ofc they do, they were intended that way. But if they were intended that way, there must be a reason. And if you know that reason, and understand it as well as one can, and THEN you can form an opinion on if such a gimmick should be changed ( and perhaps even giving examples on how ).. well that is a lot different then what it looks like if someone who has almost no experience at the game, and thus also doesn't see the balance factors, coming in and saying that the mechanics which don't favor them, are bad for the game. Btw, you will find people with good stats also not agreeing with stuff / each other ALL THE TIME. Stats are just a tool to judge someone's basic understanding, some stats are more indicative than others as well. Look behind the stats, and ignore them when you think they are irrelevant, just give it a good thought before you dismiss someone's opinion.

yeah yeah WoWs is perfectly balanced, anything which happens is due to developers actually intending it to happen that is why they are going to change one of the most difficult parts of the game engine so that underwater BB AP pen's don't take away so much hp from lightly armored targets... Your opinion if formed by your views of the game, which are formed by how you play, which relates to your 'understanding' of the game. I am not bashing you, I am merely pointing out that in order for your opinion to have some validity you need to have some more experience at the very least. The problems you're mentioning, smoke / invisi fire / torps from stealth, are tactical aspects of gameplay. They can be annoying, heck ok they ARE annoying especially if you're new to the game. But they are aspects you should be learning to deal with. And don't come with: well then I kamp in the back because that is how you deal... that's bs. I can deal with it, why can't you? What is different? I'm not made of gold, I don't think you're made out of gold? Are you from iron? I'm not I'm just flesh and blood. If you're flesh and blood, what is the difference between what happens when I see a team list with smoke cruisers, stealth DD's and what not, and what happens when you're in that match? If you accept you might need to learn how to deal with game aspects better, there is a lot of things you will also enjoy more in the game due to being better at it ( because you understand the game mechanics ). edit: if you want to learn a bit, drop by the scrubs channel ingame ( or come say hi in our recruitment thread first on the forum.. not that you need to be in the clan, it's fine if you just want to drop bye and play some games with some more experienced people ). Trust me, it's not just a learning experience, it's mostly just more fun that way ;)

Hey psssstttt.... I face the same people who do that smoke camping torp spamming ... well not invisi fire unless they shoot from behind/in smoke or islands..... And yet I don't do as badly as some others. Maybe l2p before trying to make the game easier for your battleships ( most played class ).

Maybe this is because S_O's internal tool which draws the shells actual flight path as opposed to the rendered impact points. The render engine is not depicting the actual flight path, not even at the very end I believe, but an approximation.
