45m video, which battle is fun to watch @waxx25 ? Edit: Megazao comes up at 29 minutes. It's pretty scary seeing those misplays and still having decent results

A preview to "The same graphics* you could have had years ago - on the same hardware"

Now you mention it.... @havaduck I'm removing you from my tinder list, no pony no superlike addendum: Reminders of Fochgate are pretty troll though... -
It's hard to imagine the same difficulty is the gameplay itself is so different. Take Tashkent, I had 60%+ wr on tier 8 with it and I'm struggling to stay north of 50 on tier 9 ;)
-
Meh I might have shot myself in the foot here, my tier X cruisers all have less win rate as my tier 8's so I can't really claim it's easier overall Still, it's way more frequent I'm killed by a fellow cruiser as a battleship on tier X, while on lower tiers I will win most cruiser vs cruiser engagements. Guess tier X cruisers also punish mistakes quicker and harder ;)
-
Self accomplishment, in playing something which is actually HARDER as tier X
-
If I'm garbage you sure have high standards. Just wish you applied them to yourself Come on go play mid tier cruisers, let us see how you 'farm' all those BB's with a cruiser which isn't tier X or has smoke. Pathetic try hard division stat padding and still failing? Wow you must feel really crappy about yourself.

Blahblahblah blahblah blah? Nice to see how you're still a Edited with which no sensible discussion can be held. This post has been edited by the moderation team due to inflammatory remarks.

Ouch yeah... well tier X is where the cruisers are also best matched against battleships, and MK is broken ( not that I play it, I kinda stopped liking to play broken ships ). Let's give him a Mogami for 20 battles in a row see if the still likes farming BB's "all day every day'' :D

My Belfast has only a 64% wr, and it's overtaken my by Yorck ( Yorck OP must nerf ) and Fiji with almost 67%... Yeah negligible difference due to low number of games. I was surprised though, sure Fiji is good but I don't think it's as influential as Belfast. Having that tier 8 concealment module + radar + smoke + hydro just puts you in a class apart with regard to map control or cap contests/defend/support. Sure it needs some 'skill' so I guess some potato's fail to have that feeling of influence when they play they Belfast, but it's 100% broken. Simple 'fix' would be removing concealment module, not ifhe.

Mhm then you haven't fully converted to the dark side, dissapointing. BB's in to high numbers don't make for enjoyable gameplay, not for me. I'm not as obsessed as some others with the farm, I rather just get a W and move on quickly. Games with more cruisers tend to last a shorter amount of time and they are usually a lot more dynamic.
-
So you're ok with a hard cap now?
-
3 BB's instantly makes them way less OP since there are less chances one of them get's my broadside. Mr I like BB Meta -> whaaa whaaaa my BB is spotted when I shoot ---> BBaby boats where the ONLY class which ALL got a concealment BUFF with stealth fire removal... So why do people play Montana then?

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
mtm78 replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Contributors don't get that. If the screenshot is from live, it's all doubloons he bought or were given to him ( maybe by viewers ). If it's PTS server, he might be using preview accounts which are not normal PTS accounts. -
So, it's summer vacation and I bought one of those Intex inflatable boats ( Excursion 4 ). It's small enough for me to handle alone ( setting up and breaking down ), it is small ( because no fixed floor ) when deflated and fits in my pedal bike luggage car with everything else. I been using a little troller engine from Minn Kota but I went to light ( speed is tolerable though.. ) and the run time is to shallow to really enjoy it. I can get 2 1/2 hour alone in the boat, running at mostly speed setting 4 which is rather slowish ( firm walking pace? ). With my two kids with me, run time dropped by an hour to 1 1/2 hour though I did run at speed 5 longer so that did take more power from the battery. This is basically the setup now ( random pic from internet ) -> Now, 1 1/2 hour isn't enough to do something, or go somewhere, or make a worthwhile trip, and since the kids really seemed to enjoy it I decided to look for a petrol engine. The boat can take up to 1.2kw ( 1.5hp ) and 15kg in weight on the motor mount. Now, I have seen this boat 'modded' with 4hp engines but looking at the modifications and the speed I already seen with only 30lbs of trust I don't plan on modding anything. The only thing I might consider is lengthening the upper mounting rods to extend all the way to the rear rowing doleys. This perhaps should be done regardless, because the video's I seen with 86lbs trust trolling motors already did make the motor mount dip a lot. And the engine I bought is comparable with those in trust. https://www.aquaparx.eu/outboard-engines/gas-engines/1-2-hp-outboard-motor-gasoline.html Basically, it's a Honda GX35 clone from China. It's also sold as Tomking ( link ). Gx35 is a 38cc 4-stroke air cooled motor originally designed and patented by Honda. The patent however has expired so the entire engine is being made by many others ( sometimes with small adjustments, but I should be able to service the entire engine itself ( running part ) using any parts from any clone, and it's only the peripherals like the fuel tank and outer cap's which have differences. The engine is supposed to deliver 1kw / 1.2hp at +- 6.5k rpm. Since the Minn Kota 30lbs already moves it quite ok on high settings I expect this to be plenty ( also the max allowed per boat specification, not withstanding any modding to the mounting ). But, it's a darn weedwacker engine ( seriously, if you have any motorized garden equipment, the chances of one of them having a gx3x (clone) based engine is pretty large as they were the first four stroke engines which could run in any orientation ). And people operating weedwackers for a prolonged time.... use ear protection! Now, gx35 is said to be as quiet as possible due to being 4 stroke ( only one explosion on 4 full revolutions kinda lowers the sound right ). But the entire 'muffler' of this thing is .... tiny. Like really tiny. And it is air vented. I hope I will be possible to solder/weld an attachment which perhaps extends the exhaust to go below the water ( great sound suppressor ). As a 4-stroke, the exhaust length is more variable before running into issues with backpressure afaik.. And these engines are also used in (ultra)lights ( and many many RC sports ), and for those I seen plenty of custom made exhaust ( to fit the airframe correctly ). So, unless it's a lot quieter then I dread right now I will need to either put on a moped muffler or make an extension so it vents underwater ( with some holes above water for pressure relief iirc ). Petrol engine comes in around half August sadly, they were on backorder ( buying the Aquaparx branded version due to it being a Dutch company and it hopefully being easier for warranty if I'd need it ). Which means I can't take any 'big' trips right now. But I am not going to buy an additional battery just for two weeks :) I'll probably sell the entire electric side when I get the petrol engine, with the 4 stroke weedwacker being flexible and almost as economical due to extremely good milage.

Anyone have any experience with those weedwacker engines?
mtm78 replied to mtm78's topic in Off-Topic
I was lazy and didn't disassemble anything, just cleaned air filter again, checked carb again and it starts fine. Had a leak in fuel line though so had to replace that ( had some laying around ). Since I had to work inside as it's very rainy ( normally do it on my balcony but with the wind it's just like standing outside if it rains ) I couldn't finish tuning. Tomorrow, though. And after that if weather permits I'll go and try some tests with trimming settings to improve the handling.- 9 replies

Did you just watch flamu and decided to post a topic without actually linked the vod? ( Flamu just commented on a CurrySausage employing next level 360 degree angling.. timing seems 'suspicious' ).

Didn't WG already comment they are aware and this is a bug and they are working on it? I seem to remember reading that about Perth getting spotted in current patch. -
Mixing is great, it even increases skill requirements right! But having HE as primary and still getting decent results ( which is what we fear ) is not. Let's hope we are wrong and we won't see even more potato's in BB's shooting HE all the time ( and then suddenly getting a line in which they actually perform and think they became better players... ).
-
Ikr Didn't like the concept then, surely still not liking it now. But if your point is that since it already exists it's OK to put in more.. we had really good 20km torps before, that doesn't mean they should have stayed or that we should have more nations equiped with them.. Just because something already exists doesn't make it a good concept. You seem to avoid the HE performance of RN BB's though. As I said I feel it looks like the heal is only very beneficial in certain situations so while some may claim it looks overpowered as a whole I don't share that sentiment.
-
Well they could if they individually buff the ships with extreme penalties like Duca, at the same time as the change of IFHE. That way you can lower IFHE influence without breaking individual ships, with the risk of later having to readjust that single ship's fire chance if it performs as unwanted outlier. If I were WG I would have the exact damage source charts for all ships affected, and I could probably plan around any ill effect if making 'reparations' before hand. Claiming this is better after sounds to me like the bad effects which actually buf battleships again are taken rather as a potential cruiser which needs another round of adjustment.
-
Smoke is fine imho, well should be with low enough penalties for small caliber ( hope on PTS version to 'test/preview' before it makes it to live.... ). Fire chance removal for IFHE basically makes DoT impossible for some ships which again buffs BB's the most. Sure, there is an issue and it should be fixed, but by 'fixing' IFHE this way they again buff battleship survivability at the same time. And that right when RN BB's are announced.

Well you could argue as to why you think I'm biased? I'm even defending current proposed smoke changes when people tell me it's nerfing things besides battleships ( I feel this will be far less influential in random battles, even less than having a battleship outpost my cruisers ). You were the one who started making it personal by attributing bias, so I asked you to show me where. If you drop that claim we can happily move on :) As to the new upcoming line, some of the leaked stats are just worrysome so people complain about them. And yes, some complaints ( even mine, but I would like them to be pointed out so I might even try and educate myself more and hopefully will be able to change my opinion.. ) will be biased. Some ( or well most if not all ) will be just misinformed. Like I said I think you even responding to some post is a risk as you're never going to 'win' these arguments without breaking NDA, but avoiding breaking NDA makes most contributions to these threads quite 'hollow'? So I will repeat: it 'looks' like this line has some issues: At tier 4 - 5 you have better HE performance as a Montana -> your counter 'BB switching ammo is nothing new, now only more will do it' -> my counter -> 'This HE doesn't perform only versus angled targets, it seems generally way to powerful and will actually hurt destroyers and cruisers more as battleships ( due to module damage ). High tier lol heal basically is a hard thing to comment on. I don't think they looked OP on streams at all, except in certain limited situations ( and yes, those are against cruisers and yes I can already hear the 'bias' argument and it might be right... but it doesn't invalidate the argument does it? ). But concealment is where I draw the line. Concealment is the center of my gameplay. Every ship I own has a concealment module, even all the battleships which can mount it. But I would never expect my battleship to outspot a cruiser, it's just .. broken. No matter how few times you're actually in a situation where it matters, the principle is broken. As to my constant BBaby whine, blame the Murican who made that BBaby Bingo card picture, and WG for ticking every box on it because they listen to the wrong feedback.

I think the impact on random battles is far less as you seem to expect, but it depends on the values they end up with when it reaches live. I hope we get a proper PTS round with testing this with more than just ST.
